The Black Keys recently shared a cover of William Bell‘s “I Forgot to Be Your Lover,” the latest track from their upcoming album Ohio Players.

“I Forgot to Be Your Lover” was written by Bell and Booker T. Jones. It became popular after Billy Idol covered it on his third studio album Whiplash Smile (1986).

Ohio Players will be released on April 5 via Nonesuch. The band had previously shared its lead single “Beautiful People (Stay High),” co-written by Dan Auerbach, Patrick Carney, Dan “The Automator” Nakamura and Beck.

Ohio Players, the band’s 12th studio album and their first since 2022’s Dropout Boogie, will feature guest appearances from Beck, Noel Gallagher, Greg Kurstin, and more.

The album is set to drop after This Is a Film About the Black Keys, a documentary on the band, is scheduled to premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in March.
