Lebron James may be the most accomplished athlete of all-time, but he has yet to embrace the Bald Is Beautiful lifestyle that Michael Jordan accepted long ago. After a loss against the Clippers earlier this week, the King was heckled about his hairline by a fan sitting in the lower level.
James currently sits about 100 points behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most points in NBA history. Michael Jordan finished his career with 32,000 points, while the current Lakers star has more than 38,000 and counting.
Goldman Sachs expects home values to worsen through 2023 amid continued skyrocketing interest rates and declining housing prices and they predict that San Jose, California; San Diego, California; Austin, Texas; and Phoenix, Arizona, will likely see noticeable increases before drastic decreases of more than 25%.
As for those in Chicago, home prices are expected to dip slightly (-1.8%), while Baltimore (+0.5%) and Miami (+0.8%) will see higher prices, the firm said.
Don’t buy a home in the burbs just yet, Brian. Things could get worse before they get better.
Chicago’s top hockey team, AHL’s Chicago Wolves, will host the Rockford Ice Hogs and Grand Rapids Griffins this weekend. When they take the ice, the Wolves will be wearing special jerseys to raise awareness for those suffering with poor mental health. “The goal is to raise awareness,” said Wolves President of Operations Courtney Mahoney. “Certainly the goal is to raise a lot of funds for mental health-related charities. If we can have any kids or family, anybody feel better about themselves and understand that they’re not alone, I think that’s a win-win for the organization.”
Silent Auction bidding begins Jan. 28 at the Chicago Wolves Charities table through the end of the second intermission on Jan. 29.
The commemorative jerseys feature a butterfly to symbolize transformation, meaningful phrases and a colorful brain pattern representing different mental health issues.
Our Blind Auction is LIVE for your chance to win one of these Mental Health Awareness jerseys, presented by @campfiremallows! Which one would be your favorite? 🤔
Officials at a New Jersey high school confirmed that a grown woman who posed as a teen girl was able to attend classes at the city’s high school for several days after enrolling with fake documents. The school district superintendent noted, “She was here for four days before being found out, and barred from entering the district property. All appropriate authorities were immediately notified, and the individual in question has now been arrested for providing false documentation.”

This begs the question – the same one we ask whenever there’s a high-profile pedophilia case – why would you voluntarily spend time with a high schooler?
January 25, Fall Out Boy returned home to the Metro thanks to Q101. The band played a career-spanning, blistering 19 song setlist that kept the lucky 1,000 fans in attendance engaged and energized from start to finish.
Notably, the band played “Calm Before the Storm” for the first time since 2007. That joined “Grand Theft Autumn”, “Chicago is So Two Years Ago”, and “Saturday” as the songs from Fall Out Boy’s first record, Take This to Your Grave.
“Hum Hallelujah”, a fan-favorite from Infinity on High, was played, as well. This song hasn’t been a setlist regular since 2013.

It’s a hard time for sexy mascots. As noted earlier this week, M&M’s have ditched the salacious green M&M (as well as the other colors) in favor of Maya Rudolph. A&W took steps this week to cover up their mascot, Rooty the Great Root Bear, after years of his bottom-half hanging loose.
Head empty, no thoughts. That’s how we should all approach life. That’s certainly the mindset that one man with a bag of McDonald’s had when he walked on the court in the midst of the Loyola-Duquesne basketball game last night.
The delivery person was shown again a couple minutes later, walking around the arena, looking to track down the person who ordered the food. Later reports confirmed that the hungry fan was eventually delivered their meal.
If you’re feeling stressed out at your ever-growing to-do list, don’t. Turn your mind off. Wander off to an unauthorized location. Eat some McNuggets. Everything will be alright.
Road trippers rejoice. In partnership with Miller Transportation, the Megabus will connect Chicago with 23 cities, including Indianapolis, Louisville, and Columbus. Meagabus has decreased their presence in Chicago going back to 2016.
Tickets on most routes are $17.50 one way, but fares from Chicago to Gary have been seen for as low as $1.
Very rarely does the word “sir” find it’s way into a heist, but CWB Chicago has released a video of a polite carjacking on the 600 block of West 29th Street from over the weekend. The suspects approached the victim calmly, called him “sir”, and held his pizza box while he retrieved his car keys.
According to The Athletic, Padres-turned-Sox pitcher Mike Clevinger has attacked both his wife and his 10-month-old child. The report says, According to [Olivia] Finestead (the mother of Clevinger’s daughter), she has detailed to those investigators incidents of physical, verbal and emotional abuse, including an incident from last June in which Finestead said Clevinger choked her, and another about two weeks later when she said Clevinger slapped her in a hotel room when the team was playing the Dodgers and threw used chewing tobacco on their child.”
A source familiar with MLB’s investigation process confirmed there is an open investigation on Clevinger. The source added that the White Sox became aware of the allegations after he was signed. Clevinger has not publicly commented on the allegations and his agent told The Athletic they would need “time” before responding.
The Illinois Secretary of State has revealed a number of rejected vanity plates over the last year. Nearly 400 vanity and personalized plate requests were rejected last year, because of their “tawdry, lewd, or offensive nature, or because they were difficult to read.”
Some of the rejected plates include: PEEPEE, GOTPOOP, SUCKER, KISSASH, SUKIT, BITEU, DUCKYOU, COKAIN, HAIILNO, WHTHFUK, and WMWWWMW.
Thanks, boys. Chicago Police are shifting focus to curb violent carjackings. After finding some success in fighting carjackings, CPD is partnering again with the Cook County Sheriff and launching a new program targeting stolen vehicles. The effort combines free safety hardware and pre-emptive permission from owners to track stolen vehicles.
At upcoming events, Hyundai and Kia owners can also get a limited number of free steering wheel locks. The bright yellow devices will keep the front wheels from turning. Their color will also serve to deter potential thieves. The devices are being shipped “by the pallet-full” from the car companies, according to Glen Brooks, director of CPD’s Office of Community Policing.
Junior detectives have spent the last few days all over the Internet, picking apart video “evidence” from Damar Hamlin’s appearance in Buffalo this past Sunday. Hamlin, who was immediately attacked and used as a propaganda tool following his collapse on Monday Night Football a few weeks ago, was dressed in sunglasses, a mask, and a hoodie, just as any other person would in freezing temperatures. For some reason, however, that has led people to thinking that the real Damar Hamlin died and that the man in Buffalo last Sunday was a fake.
the CBS camera feed got Damar Hamlin posted up like the banker from Deal or No Deal pic.twitter.com/IKWsiEtxOm
One quick Twitter search of “Damar Hamlin” will lead you to hundreds of results of people questioning the existence of this man.
Hamlin did a quick FaceTime with Philadelphia running back Miles Sanders two weeks ago. It's obviously him. He took photos at the Bill's practice facility that were posted on social media. Again, clearly him.https://t.co/BNbS6N8H8G
— Mike Rothschild (no relation) (@rothschildmd) January 24, 2023
It should be noted that Hamlin has made multiple public appearances since the incident, but accepting this would force people to go back to their own lives.
