Comedian and movie star Kevin Hart will perform at Jokes and Notes on Sunday in a one-night-only stand-up performance. The 21-and-over show is set for 8 p.m. at the South Side comedy club, and tickets will be available at the door on a first-come-first-serve basis. (READ MORE HERE)

In the past few years there has been a growing trend of blogging adventures from abandoned places around the world, so a viral video posted last week from the former Nara Dreamland amusement park in Japan really captures this demented adventure in the best way possible.
Dreamland is already odd in that it’s a Disney-inspired knock off with an uncanny resemblance to the Sleeping Beauty castle and Mainstreet USA of the famous DisneyWorld park. Think of going to a real haunted house but throw on the color and charm of a place that was meant to be nothing but family fun and all ages entertainment, that is what Dreamland looks like now. This is not a fairy tale with a happy ending though as the park was shuttered for good in 2006.

THIS LIST IS INCREDIBLE!! I must do my research. I’ve never wanted to get paid to be a food critic because I hate saying negative things about someone’s craft. If I didn’t like something I was meant to critique I would just hire Gordon Ramsay to say “It tasted like cold wet mush, AWFUL!!” I don’t like anyone to feel bad for creating. I WOULD however love to be a professional ‘Food Discoverer’. Or even sidekick to Anthony Bourdain. I could just roam the earth in search of amazing food. The first band to be announced for the Riot Fest lineup, The Original Misfits! Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only with Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein on guitar. This marks the first time in 33 years the band will be taking the stage together.

Two new TV shows will soon start filming in the Chicago area for FOX according to a report today by RedEye. The most noteable of the two is an adaption for TV of the classic 70’s horror film and novel ‘The Exorcist’ with veteran actress Geena Davis set in the starring role. If this is anything like the movie, I will hide from my TV like dog in a bathroom during a thunderstorm. If you have never seen this instant terror of a movie, well just take in the trailer to see what I mean.
The other planned show is “A.P.B” is a police drama and according to Variety it’s about “tech billionaire who purchases a troubled police precinct in the wake of a loved one’s murder.” Let’s just hope that Robocop can somehow be involved, or a knock-off version called Officer Robotic.
It is not clear yet when these shows will start filming but the productions have been confirmed by city officials. There is now six different shows filming in town. NBC’s ‘Chicago P.D.’ ‘Chicago Med’ and ‘Chicago Fire’ are still busy locally. Netflix is shooting portions of the show ‘ Senses8’ this summer in the area along with Amazon who is going produce the dramatic series ‘Patriot’.
Let’s hope this leads to extra work for everybody at 101WKQX so we can hang out in the background on camera, while people fight crime and demons…or demons who commit crimes?! New show idea: DEMON COP!

Some people went ahead and decided to create a list of the worst Radiohead songs all the way to the best. Let’s just be clear, they didn’t do one or two albums, they ranked all 150+ of them! With the success of Deadpool as an R-rated superhero movie for 21st Century Fox and Marvel, the last Wolverine movie with Hugh Jackman in the role will be Rated R. Producer Simon Kinberg (Deadpool, X-Men: Days of Future Past) confirmed it recently in the press recently, saying the film would be “violent, kind of like a western in it’s tone.” As more and more comic book based movies hit theaters, the adult lean of this genre gets bigger naturally, so it will be intriguing to see what Weapon X does when his claws come out with less creative restrictions.
Jackman confirmed last year that the next Wolverine film will be his last as the character that he has portrayed 8 times since 2000’s ‘X-Men”. It’s been reported by multiple sources including CinemaBlend, that the film will play off the comic ‘Old Man Logan’ with the conflicted hero renouncing violence while traveling through America, only find himself tangling with Marvel villains.
‘Wolverine 3’ is set to come out in March 2017.

The ladies of Litchfield are back with the new trailer for ‘Orange is the New Black’ Season 4 dropping on Netflix on June 17th. Piper appears to once again be in danger and some other women in the drama-filled prison are climbing up the ladder of inmate life. There is also a lot of beloved characters who appear to be in pain here or under real pressure in this teaser, it also helps that Kaleo’s “Way Down We Go” is the soundtrack.
There is more good news about powerful ladies kicking butt on a screen near you. Black Widow of the Avenger’s movies is getting her own solo movie, read about that here.
Sam Reid started making this video his senior year of high school and continue it all the way through college. It’s pretty great.

It’s time to start making some tough decisions—the Lollapalooza 2016 schedule has been released, allowing attendees to plan out their days (and long walks) at Chicago’s biggest music festival.
The main stage headliners each night are mostly who we expected: Lana Del Rey and J. Cole on Thursday, Major Lazer and Radiohead on Friday, Disclosure and Red Hot Chili Peppers on Saturday, Ellie Goulding and LCD Soundsystem on Sunday. We were pleasantly surprised to see Swedish metal supergroup Ghost headlining the Pepsi Stage on Friday, Chicago-native emcee Vic Mensa closing out the Pepsi Stage on Saturday and the supremely strange South African dup Die Antwoord performing the final set at Perry’s Stage on Sunday. I like the ability to plan out my festivals I do however wish there was a Lolla app with alerts that would let me set up all the bands I want to see and send me a notification when they are about to take the stage with a 15 minute warning. With as many amazing artists performing this year it will be impossible but I made my list early on. As if four Chicago locations wasn’t enough already (it isn’t), Stan’s Donuts is opening two more storefronts in prime locations around the city.
The first location will open in Lakeview at 3300 N Broadway and the other will be inside Labriola Ristorante at 535 N Michigan Avenue. Both locations will open promptly at 6:30am on Saturday, May 21, according to Eater. (READ MORE HERE)
