Best Flight Attendant Ever?

Typically when you are flying on a plane and you hear a fly attendant giving you instructions they are using their real voice. Well on a recent flight landing at Midway, a flight attendant decided to go ahead a give the land instructions in a dozen Looney Tune character voices! Not only is this video entertaining, but he’s also really good at the voices! Lets just say I would of loved to be on this flight! Check the video below!

Make the shot and Everyone gets a ‘100’ on a quiz (VIDEO)

This twitter video went viral over the weekend showing a Ohio State chemistry class in which a student on a mezzanine hit in an incredible shot that got the entire class out of a quiz. The last time we looked it was re-tweeted over 92,00 times.

The tweet notes the person as ‘Benny” when it’s actually Vinny  who saved the day with this amazing throw, based on Reddit posts that elaborate on the situation.

“Technically, he didn’t. The actual promise was that there would be no quiz, expecting that the shot would miss. Instead, he decided that we still had to take it, but it was based on participation.

Source: Was in the lower floor of that class. The hype and applause that followed was unreal.”

Vinny, if you are reading this: You are a great person who should be invited to all the cool campus parties where you become the social darling of the school, until your new found fame goes to your head and you lose your close friends who were with you before ‘THE SHOT’ and then you have a change of heart. You miss the next big shot on purpose, just to earn your friend’s back,,or at least that’s just the cliche movie I made up in my head about you right now. @kevkellam

Six Flags Great America launching a new roller coaster ‘The Joker’

(Six Flags Great America)

Today Six Flags Great America announced that they would be adding a 15th roller coaster to their Gurnee park with a ‘free fly’ style ride called ‘the Joker’ in the 2017 season. The new ride which uses the popular DC Comics character as it’s theme, is modeled after a ride that opened in 2015 called ‘Batman: the Ride’ and resides at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. ‘The Joker’ will open right next to Great America’s ‘Batman’ coaster which opened in 1992.  “We are excited to continue our partnership with the DC brand as it continues to resonate well with our guests. The Joker is undeniably one of the greatest Super-Villains of all time. This free-fly coaster will perfectly capture the essence of the warped and unpredictable nature of The Joker. It will take our park to the next level of thrills.” said Hank Salemi, Six Flags Great America park president, in a statement.

The Joker ride will feature “smooth head-over-heels free-fly flips, providing guests the feeling of weightlessness as they soar outside the confines of a traditional track.” It was designed by Sansei Technologies, out of Utah. “The wing seats amp up the pandemonium since riders will experience this wild adventure with no track above or below — just the sky, ground and plenty of sinister thrills.”

So prepare to bring your wimpy friends like me with you for this ride where everyone gets to be an ‘agent of chaos’.

So here is a look at what the physical thrill of ‘the Joker’ will be…remember this is nothing like the Batman ride we have at Great America

Amy Schumer crushes a sexist heckler (VIDEO)

amyschumerheckler

In comedy, there is somehow this odd attraction for some people to yell out idiotic and disruptive stuff during a live performance to somehow draw attention away from the act everyone is there to see. This happened again this week in Stockholm, Sweden except that the heckler chose to heckle the wrong comic in Amy Schumer.

Schumer whose a vet of the Comedy Central Roast specials, brought the heckler out to the attention of the crowd after he screamed ““Show us your ****!” and handed him his proverbial head from the stage. Asking what the heckler did for a living, he replied ‘sales’ and then the ‘Trainwreck’ star responded “Sales. How’s that working out? Is it going well? Because we’re not buying it.” The heckler continued to go at it with Schumer and got escorted right out of the venue.

The clip which features NSFW language but shows Schumer handling this heckler like a pro.

As someone who does comedy (no where near the level of Schumer, not a direct comparison) hearing a heckler who has intent during your performance to disrupt you, I can attest that it’s just the most insulting and disrespectful thing you can do to a comic. It’s not fun for anyone in the audience, unless you can flip the energy in the room like Schumer did here and make it a triumph for the show. If you love a band, you would not treat them this way, so why do it to comedian you like as well? – @kevkellam

After two years in Chicago, NFL to announce that 2017 draft headed to Philly

nfldraft

(redeyechicago.com)

The NFL will announce Thursday that the 2017 draft will be held in Philadelphia, a person with direct knowledge of the announcements tells The Associated Press. The person spoke Wednesday on condition of anonymity because the league has not made an official announcement of the move. After two years in Chicago, the draft has become a traveling show. Philadelphia beat out several other locations eager to stage the proceedings. For decades, the draft was held in New York, but scheduling issues for 2015 and a strong bid from Chicago led to it being moved. The draft traditionally is held on the final Thursday-Saturday of April, which would be April 28-30 in 2017.

Well it sucks we won’t have the NFL Draft again next year but remember, your fantasy football draft can be held ANYWHERE!! They can’t take that away from you! – m

Zoom comes to Instagram after a half-decade wait

igzoom654X372

(mashable.com)

It has taken Instagram five whole years, but it has finally delivered the most basic feature to its users: Zoom.

As of Wednesday, iOS users can zoom in on Instagram photos with a pinch of the fingers — a standard maneuver since Steve Jobs introduced the original iPhone way back in 2007.
SEE ALSO: Instagram will soon suggest Stories from people you don’t follow
It isn’t clear why the app didn’t allow users to zoom so easily before, instead forcing iPhone users to change their phone’s setting to allow zoom before forcing a super awkward three-finger double-tap to get a closer look. It was like athletics for your fingers. (MORE HERE)

This is great but when will I be able to taste those foodie IG photos? Then I’ll know the future is finally here!! – m

Great news for Chicago music lovers

If you have been following along, Cook County announced that DJs, electronic, rock, rap, and country music do not meet the their definition of “music” under the scope of “fine arts.”

Which essentially meant they would come after venues such as our beloved Beauty Bar and Evil Olive for back taxes to the tune of $200K a piece, that were previously exempted under the 3% amusement tax.

Under the county code, venues that hold fewer than 750 people are exempt from a 3% tax on admission fees for “live cultural performances,” including music.

How my bud Derek Berry fought the power on the front of Beauty Bar:

Luckily, today, Cook County commissioner John Fritchey introduced legislation to amend the County’s amusement-tax ordinance.

From Pitchfork: According to a press release, the language of his proposed change closely mirrors the rules in the city of Chicago, which specifically includes performing DJs in its amusement-tax exemption.

“I don’t believe that government should be playing culture police and deciding what constitutes ‘music,’” Fritchey said in the release. “Going after small businesses who have in good faith complied with what should be a commonsense reading of the law is just plain wrong, and to have it happen in a city that has given the music industry some of its most famous DJs and rappers just adds insult to injury.”

Read the full announcement here.  More from Pitchfork here.

Thank you Mr. Frichey for seeing the value in art and music.  A man who just made this picture his cover photo:

Sri Lanka teen hacks president’s website to postpone a college exam

Computer-hacker-silhouette

mirror.co.uk

A wild story out of the country of Sri Lanka where a 17-year old boy is accused of hacking the President of the country’s website in an attempt to postpone college exams.

The Verge has the whole story.  The most mischief that I have been able to stir up on a computer is drawing bad mustaches on celebrity pictures in Microsoft Paint back in grade school…or really just yesterday before someone said I was “Immature”.
