The Jurassic Park franchise teaches us that life will find a way. But the folks behind Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (out June 22) found quite a few ways over the past week to stoke interest in the series’ fifth entry, from a 15-second teaser, to a parodical sketch starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, to EW’s very own first look at the film. In the latter, Howard explained how the movie finds her character Claire Dearing and Pratt’s Owen Grady attempting to save the dinosaurs on Isla Nublar from an active volcano. “Claire’s founded an organization, Dinosaur Protection Group, and they’re finding a way to get these dinosaurs off the island,” Howard told EW. “She reaches out to Owen Grady to let him know this is happening.”
Game of Thrones wrapped its penultimate season in August with a revelatory episode which left fans clamoring for the conclusion of the series. Viewers hoping the final season would air next year will have to hold out a little while longer, however, as breakout star Sophie Turner has revealed the show won’t return until 2019. (MORE HERE)
Mini-Nirvana reunion a couple of nights ago in Oregon. Krist Novoselic helped Dave write this tune when they were still with Nirvana…and he joined Foo Fighters on stage to play once again.
You are looking at a drink coaster. It is a QR code, which if you aren’t familiar with those things, here…crib notes.
I’ve never had ANY use for QR codes, but this is INGENIOUS.
This 3D-Printed QR code drink coaster gives your guests access to your Wi-Fi. Just scan it and they are connected.
You might be thinking…”Hey, Eric, how the hell do I scan a QR Code with my phone? Don’t you have to have a special reader?”
If you have an iPhone, just open your camera and hover over any QR Code now…and it will recognize it.  I don’t think Android’s camera will do this, though.
But NON-CRAPPY LIFE PRO TIP: If you do this, don’t post a picture of your work to the internet. Even with the guy’s fingers covering it, people on Reddit could figure out his router password. Oops.
QR codes might be the next Betamax or HD DVD…but I’ll be dammed, I might not be the only one keeping these things alive.
Quentin Taratino, the acclaimed director of grisly R-rated classic films like ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘Inglorious Bastards’ is reportedly working to direct a future Star Trek film with fellow Hollywood heavyweight J.J. Abrams producing, under the Paramount Studios umbrella. This odd pairing of the two wildly different directors sees both of them working with a beloved franchise that has never gone into the realm of ‘R’ rated content. Currently the project is in preproduction with a script in the works for the potential film.
Do we get Captain Kirk and Spock swearing at each other about what the French call Big Mac sandwiches? I sincerely hope so.
Abrams helped reinvigorate Star Trek with a 2009 film reboot starring Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto which saw success, followed it up with 2013’s ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’. He continued on in a executive producer role of the revamped Trek series with last year’s ‘Beyond’ which was directed by Justin Lin (‘Fast & Furious’). As if Abrams who already broke ground with the ‘LOST’ TV series and ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, he now is going to tag team with one of the most successful ‘outlaw’ directors in the movie business.
Screen Junkies News breaks down all the geeky possibilities about where Tarantino can go with the Star Trek universe.
‘Tis the season for people to reinvent/ruin classic foods. First mustard on pop tarts, now candy canes on pizza thanks to David Sanchez.
DiGiorno doesn’t seem to be a fan.
a.) David, how high WERE you? b.) why do I want this? <3 @laurenoneil
Beck performs a moving rendition of “Up All Night” for the Tonight Show audience.
I’ve sort of been following this for a few weeks as I follow lead singer Luke Spiller’s GF Laura Cartier M. on Instagram. She likes to post lots of BTS of The Struts on tour. Luke Spiller created this amazing design by hand and wanted to give it to the Foo Fighters as a gift for inviting The Struts on tour. Amazing.

Google is taking another step toward making search more fun.
The company is testing a new feature that allows celebrities and influencers to record vertical video clips answering common search questions about themselves.
I’m all for making a google search more fun, but does it have to be with VERTICAL VIDEOS? It only encourages more VERTICAL VIDEOS!!
That said this could be pretty fantastic.

When Obi Wan Kenobi said “The Force will be with you. Always.” this may not have been what he was talking about.
Yes. this is real. A company from Australia called Geek Sex Toys has released a line of sex toys and bondage items that are “inspired” by the sci-fi classic film series. Gizmodo went to this weird kinky galaxy and found out the same company has also produced other nerd related sex toys for fans of Pokemon, Guardians of the Galaxy, and other popular fictional series.
Gizmodo’s Alex Cranz makes a good point about how these controversial adult toys got made. “How on Earth is this legal? Is Disney handing out licenses to sex toy makers? (Note: They are not.) Do the good people of Australia’s Geeky Sex Toys just not give a damn?” Read the full article with some pretty graphic pics here.  NSFW for sure!

Getting wild with autocomplete on your phone or browser can result in some unlikely—but hilarious—word combinations. Now, one internet denizen has rendered the Killers‘ iconic “Mr. Brightside” as a cheeky autocomplete amalgamation, sourced from Google search terms. Check it out below.
The signature tune by the Las Vegas band is a staple rock song, and it’s one that almost any music fan can immediately sing along to. Well, what if the line “It started out with a kiss” was swapped with “It started as a tax cut”? Yeah, we’re not quite sure if that phrase has the same appeal as the original. (MORE HERE)

Buzz from Home Alone was a little bastard. He was a remorseless bully of little Kevin McAllister, eating his pizza, calling him a ‘phlegm wad’ and blaming all of his misdeeds on his defenseless sibling. And that’s before you factor in that shocker of an 80s brush cut that he called hair. (MORE HERE)
