Will I get out of Round 1? Absolutely not. The Chicago Sings Karaoke contest started a few weeks ago and has three rounds. It features dozens of local Chicago bars, and singers. All you need to do to be a part of it is be a Chicago resident. Easy enough! The prize? $5,000 baby! Last night, I went to All-Star Seafood on Clark to ‘participate’ not compete. The people that did sing, were all very talented. So I whipped out a crowd pleaser instead of being the fourth girl to try to attempt Adele. That never works out. Here’s my best shot at the ‘Chicago Sings Karaoke’ contest while dancing and half singing to Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison.” -Ali
The nanny that worked for Jason Sudekis and Olivia Wilde spilled the beans yesterday and came out with some information that does NOT make either party look good. If you haven’t heard, the couple have been split up for a while. Olivia Wilde just finished directing her movie “Don’t Worry Darling” which features hunk Harry Styles, her new beau. The question a lot of people are asking is when she broke up with Jason and actually started seeing Harry. Scandalous!
Their ex-nanny claims that she left the house one day with a salad and her “special dressing” that she used to make for Jason for dinner. He knew she was going to see Styles. That’s how she gets them, the special dressing! He assumed she was going to step out on their relationship and filmed her with his phone, begging to her to stay, allegedly. She tried to leave and he laid in front of the car so that she couldn’t move the vehicle, then she went back inside. The couple vehemently denied the nanny’s claims. The nanny claims Jason was “heartbroken” over the incident. Was he wrong for his actions, or just a completely in love dude fighting for his woman? -Ali
Last week blink-182 announced that Tom Delonge was back in blink after a ten year hiatus, along with a world tour announcement and a new single, “Edging.” Here is the official video for the song. Directed by Cole Bennett, the pop-punk icons are performing for happy people in bunny costumes at a creepy circus. Then the knives come out. Just watch blink be blink!
After watching you’ll be glad that they’re back baby! Someone’s gotta get weird! God, I missed them. -Ali
In 1998, Korn came out with “Freak On A Leash” and it blew up. It was an anthem for the band and fans for many years to come. Being that it’s the band’s most recognizable song to date, it’s only fitting that lead singer Jonathan Davis name his new pet brand after it ‘Freak On A Leash’- clever. The company specializes in premium pet products inspired by horror and heavy music. You can buy something for your little fluff ball starting October 28th. The leashes actually do look pretty cool. Looks like Christmas is coming early this year for Reg! -Ali
Here’s the website to hit up starting on the 28th!

A bakery in California has created a 6 foot tall replica of Han Solo frozen in carbonite — only he’s encased in something far more glutenous.
Yup, “Pan Solo.” Nothing but bread.
The sculpture was made by bakers in Benicia, California for a citywide scarecrow competition. And yes, that is — scary. Scary good.
Students at a middle school in Edina, MN tried the “One Chip” challenge last week and the school had to call the paramedics. Thankfully, none of the students had to be taken to the hospital, but many had difficulty breathing and eye pain. And let’s not forget all of the pain if it comes up again! I can’t talk about it; I’m getting PTSD. The company that makes the chip, Paqui, says you should keep it out of reach of children, but the “One Chip” challenge is all the rage on TikTok and that’s the demographic that is trying the chip right now. Junior high school students, high school punks, and radio DJs are doing it in the masses. Having done the challenge myself, I can say it was by far, the worst pain I’ve been in, in well, decades. I was only more scared of dying when I had pneumonia when I was 18. It burns your mouth first, gripping your tongue with extreme pain, so much that you have to walk around non-stop. Then your stomach takes the wrath. If you can keep it down, do that! It wasn’t until I had firehose projectile out of my mouth that things got really severe. My eyes watered, then I couldn’t see out of my left eye. I spent a good 45 minutes in the fetal position in an office with the lights off. My nose was leaking, I couldn’t stop sweating, and I had to take long, slow, deep breaths. Thankfully, someone brought me milk, so I was able to navigate the pain. All I can say is, I don’t know how this thing is legal! Seriously!
Poison control says the dangerous ingredient is capsaicin. Their website says, “capsaicin, is a compound found naturally in chili peppers. When eaten in high concentrations, capsaicin can cause anything from mild mouth and throat pain to intestinal and throat irritation, or even, in extreme cases, heart palpitations and heart attacks.” GREAT! This chip could give someone a heart attack? That’s right. All for the low, low price of $10, and your overall health. -Ali
Dr. Howard Tucker lives in Ohio and has been practicing medicine since 1947! He’s a neurologist and is going to be featured in a documentary called ,”What’s Next.” The documentarian, Brooklyn filmmaker Taylor Taglianetti also helped him make his TikTok where he gives random advice. Here he is letting people know what HE would never do after working in the field for over 50 years. In this case, you should probably listen to your elders. Even though he’s 100 years old, he still has his wits about him, probably because he’s never done any of these things!
Interestingly enough, my mom was a nurse and she would always tell me not to do 2 of the things on this list. Ride a motorcycle, and smoke. Who knows why she let me jump on trampoline; she probably just wanted me to go the neighbors house so she could have a moment of peace. But there you have it! Don’t say you haven’t been warned! The oldest doctor in the world just gave you some sound advice. Now what are you going to do with it?

The tide is no longer rollling after Tennessee beat Alabama for the first time in 15 years this past weekend. They had been holding in this celebration for a LONG time, so students did what any student body does when your team wins for the first time in over a decade, and they stormed the field and took down the goal posts. It was the most excited/riotous crowd Neyland Stadium has ever seen. The guy riding the goal post with his shirt off should be the new mascot. No football fan has ever had as much energy as him. -Ali
Here she is folks! A well balanced brew with exceptional character, the coffee is pretty good too. Martha Stewart is still making millions by the day and doing whatever it takes to get that money. I’m sure Green Mountain Coffee Roasters had to pay Martha extra to order the au natural look. But the bigger story here is that Martha Stewart is 81 years old. No way! That’s the go-to compliment for any older woman, but she seriously looks phenomenal. Martha can still bring all of the boys to the yard, and it’s not because of her fresh, homemade, pumpkin pies. You go, Ms. Stewart. -Ali

Scottish actor Robbie Coltrane — Hagrid to a entire generation — has passed away at the age of 72.
In addition to his Harry Potter role, he is best known for playing Valentin Zukovsky in both the GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough films in the James Bond series.
If you’re a fan of Blink-182, you’re probably a fan of Alkaline Trio. And I’m sure you know that when Blink-182 went on hiatus, and Tom stepped out to focus on other projects, Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio stepped in, so that Mark and Travis could keep making music and touring. It’s what they do best! Now, no one can replace DeLonge, his voice is 50% of what Blink does, but when it comes to being an outstanding musician and standup guy, Matt Skiba tops the list.
Blink is one of the biggest bands on the planet, and don’t tell me that you don’t know every single word to “What’s My Age Again.” This band was a beacon of hope in a musical landscape growing up that was littered with squeaky clean pop-music. We craved something real, and different. If you were a teenager in this time, Mark, Tom, and Travis were your gateway drug to bands, like Alkaline Trio.
Yes, Matt sounded different from Tom, but Skiba saved Blink for us, the fans, and the fanatics that have “Blink-182” tattooed on their butt. We owe this man! I know it, you know it, and Tom Delonge knows it better than anyone. That’s why he wrote this note to Skiba, and it almost brought me to tears. Ok fine, I’m leaking from my eyeballs right now. You could call it a cry. Below is his note, and below that, new music from Blink-182, the band that Skiba held together.
This is our thank you to Skiba, for holding it down. Thank you to Blink-182, for being the band that brought me many euphoric moments pushed up against the barricade at shows, for bringing an awkward teen a sense of community, and introducing me to new bands. Now go get some edumacation and listen to Alkaline Trio’s older stuff. I recommend the song “Radio.” We owe that to Matt. -Ali
A teen in Texas was messing around with his dog’s chew toy and accidentally swallowed the squeaker. His mom told him to stop and made a slapping motion towards him, causing him to inhale the plastic noise- maker in the toy. Oops! You can’t help but laugh when he’s in the ER waiting, sounding like a Disney character every time he giggles. This is called ‘instant karma.’ Your mom tells you to stop messing around and you don’t, bad things will happen!
She was also nice enough to capture the whole thing on video. She’s saving it for posterity, and to show to his future girlfriends probably! Squeak, squeak!! -Ali
In this viral TikTok, this guy explains how foreigners can hear English. Keep in mind, it’s one of the hardest languages to learn! We’re native speakers, so we take it for granted, but learning any new language is difficult. Heck, I had six years of Spanish and I’m still speaking slowly making sure I’m getting the verbs correct. And I forgot a ton of it; if you don’t use it you lose it!
This language enthusiast explores different languages on social media, and in this clip, he explains what English can sound like to someone trying to learn it. One commenter said that it sounds like he’s explaining physics because he’s just speaking gibberish. Sounds about right, physics is no one’s strong subject, at least not mine! -Ali

Is she the jerk for the this? She’s just treating her how she was treated! Karma!
Am I a jerk for not giving my friend a wedding present because she didn’t give me one on my wedding? It feels dirty but also feels fair. Would you guys say I’m a jerk for this?

Does she belong to the streets? She keeps a ring from her ex- and wears it all the time. Is this streets behavior?
Does my girl belong to the streets for wearing the ring her ex husband gave her? She thinks because she wears it on her middle finger that it’s okay but I hate it. Would you say she belongs to the streets for this?
Chicago is a city of awesome neighborhoods. 77 going on 78 to be exact. But one of them made the list of ‘Coolest Places To Live In the World.’ That’s saying something! According to the list of 51 cities, only 6 in the US even made the cut. The rankings done by Time Out magazine, were based on accessibility, culture and nightlife, and wide variety of affordable food and drink. They also took into account offerings to locals and tourists. No. 1 is Colonia Americana in Guadalajara, Mexico, which is known to many locals as the “country’s cultural capital.” But I’ll stop beating around the bush and tell you which neighborhood in Chicago made the cut- it’s Avondale. Coming in at number 16, Avondale is known for it’s Polish influence and Mexican food, along with a bunch of interesting small businesses.” Avondale is a rare place that feels equally welcoming to families, arty twenty-somethings and working-class Chicagoans,” Time Out says. In 2021, the Andersonville neighborhood scored at number 2. -Ali
