The CTA provides a public transit alternative to commuting around the city of Chicago but apparently there is something creeepy crawling under the surface of the system used by thousands of Chicagoans each day. A Reddit user going by the handle UeSuRi revealed in a recent post that he had to remove several bed bugs from his clothes and body during a recent Red Line ride. The grossed-out rider also got an examine by a doctor who told him the bugs which he kept in a plastic bag, may have been lice.
DNAInfo reached out to CTA spokesperson who said “the rail car has been removed and treated for pests,” and that CTA officials were “”aware of the recent report and are taking steps to identify and address any issues.” Read the full story here.
Honestly, this does not surprise me. It is not the worst thing that could happen to you on the CTA. If I had the option, I might take the bugs over having to sit next to the guy who has the speaker blaring his own bad dubstep remixes from a SPEAKER in his backpack or who can forget the human body odor sponge you crammed next to on a packed Blue Line train. When you really consider it, it makes sense that a critter like this would get on the CTA but you think these creatures would have the dignity to at least PAY FOR THE RIDE like the rest of us instead of jumping the turnstyle. Getting around is not easy, and now we know for sure it’s also not clean either. -@kevkellam
Rumors of robot dance kings Daft Punk (Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter) returning to the stages of the world are untrue despite widespread speculation all over the web yesterday, this is according to sources in a report posted today by Consequences of Sound. The masked duo has not toured since 2007 which produced the ‘ALIVE 2007’ live album with an acclaimed headlining set at Lollapalooza in Chicago’s Grant Park the same year.
The rumors started yesterday on Reddit, with a user sharing a photo of what looks like a poster for the Lolllapalooza Chile festival for next summer which included Daft Punk listed as one of the main acts on the bill. The talk of big lights and bigger beats continued when some more internet sleuths found an unlisted page dedicated to DP on the Lollapalooza Chicago webiste. These have all been ruled out as false by industry sources according to reports by multiple sources earlier today. Daft Punk has been active though working with R&B singer The Weekend on his recent single ‘Starboy’ which came out last week.
DP has been secretive behind their helmets and worldwide fandom since their last world tour, but have been busy creating the dramatic ‘TRON: Legacy’ film soundtrack and the very successful collaborative album ‘Random Access Memories’ which featured the monster hit song ‘Get Lucky’ with singer Pharrell. Though the French pair were riding a wave of success with the ‘RAM’ album which took 5 years and millions of dollars to create, they did not tour behind the record but did make several music videos and television performances to promote it. At the 56th annual Grammy Awards, Daft Punk won Album of the Year earning the group it’s biggest mainstream exposure and recognition. – @kevkellam

It doesn’t matter what side you’re on. When it comes to drinking games everyone wins. DebateDrinking.com came up with a pretty simple format to follow…
RULES
1 – Pick a candidate
2 – Listen for YOUR candidate to say his/her specific words and listen for every candidate to say a community word. If ANY CANDIDATE says a community word, EVERYONE drinks
3 – Because this may be a high scoring game, we define a drink as a gulp of beer or sip of wine or liquor. Know your limits and please drink responsibly.
HILLARY CLINTON
Family, Middle Class, *Cough*, Russia, Women, Together
DONALD TRUMP
Tremendous, Believe Me, China, Failed, Excuse Me, Bigly (or Big League)
COMMUNITY WORDS
Judgement, Plan, Reagan
They even created a real time counter so you can follow along.

‘Late Show’ host and proud Chicago Cubs fan Stephen Colbert teamed up with the Northsiders to film a field segment where he went under disguise as ‘Donnie’ a not-so-good hot dog vendor at the friendly confines of Wrigley Field. One of the better lines under the getup for Colbert here is “All I got is hot dogs here, literally that’s all I got. I’ve driven away everyone in my life”. He also pitches having a “donny sandwich” to couple in his cousin’s panel van underNEEF Lake Shore Drive. Also he puts whip cream in a guy’s beer. It’s just a fun time with Colbert especially as they figure out he’s not a legit hot dog vendor. The whole bit culminates in coach Joe Madden ‘pulls’ Colbert from the game as if he was pitcher. – Kevin
The most important question of 2016 is obviously, “What are you going to be for Halloween?” Are you going to take advantage of these 2016 Halloween ideas or are you going to lazily go as yourself yet again? Are you going to put some effort into your life for once?
It’s clear that 2016 Halloween costumes are going to be dominated by the grab bag of Internet pop culture.
