Carrie Fisher’s dog has a cameo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

At the closing ceremonies for 2016’sĀ Star Wars Celebration, the world’s largest convention for the franchise, bothĀ Carrie FisherĀ and Mark Hamill had a very exact complaint to be made: why are there noĀ dogsĀ in the Star Wars universe?

“I’m just here to make sure Gary gets a part at least in the next [movie],”Ā Fisher said at the time. And it looks as if General Leia got her request: Gary Fisher, her French Bulldog companion that was rarely separated from her side, has a cameo inĀ The Last Jedi.

Watch the first trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

( from ew.com)

TheĀ Jurassic ParkĀ franchise teaches us that life will find a way. But the folks behindĀ Jurassic World: Fallen KingdomĀ (out June 22) found quite a few ways over the past week to stoke interest in the series’ fifth entry, fromĀ a 15-second teaser, toĀ a parodical sketch starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, to EW’s very ownĀ first look at the film.Ā In the latter, Howard explained how the movie finds her character Claire Dearing and Pratt’s Owen Grady attempting to save the dinosaurs on Isla Nublar from an active volcano.Ā ā€œClaire’s founded an organization, Dinosaur Protection Group, and they’re finding a way to get these dinosaurs off the island,ā€ Howard told EW. ā€œShe reaches out to Owen Grady to let him know this is happening.ā€

I’ve Never Had a Use for a QR Code. Until Now.

You are looking at a drink coaster.Ā  It is a QR code, which if you aren’t familiar with those things, here…crib notes.

I’ve never had ANY use for QR codes, but this is INGENIOUS.

This 3D-Printed QR code drink coaster gives your guests access to your Wi-Fi.Ā  Just scan it and they are connected.

You might be thinking…”Hey, Eric, how the hell do I scan a QR Code with my phone?Ā  Don’t you have to have a special reader?

If you have an iPhone, just open your camera and hover over any QR Code now…and it will recognize it.Ā Ā I don’t think Android’s camera will do this, though.

But NON-CRAPPY LIFE PRO TIP:Ā  If you do this, don’t post a picture of your work to the internet.Ā  Even with the guy’s fingers covering it, people on Reddit could figure out his router password.Ā  Oops.

QR codesĀ might be the nextĀ BetamaxĀ or HD DVD…but I’ll be dammed,Ā I might not be the only one keeping these things alive.

Quentin Tarantino working to direct an ‘R’ rated Star Trek movie

Quentin Taratino, the acclaimed director of grisly R-rated classic films like ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘Inglorious Bastards’ is reportedly working to direct a future Star Trek film with fellow Hollywood heavyweight J.J. Abrams producing, under the Paramount Studios umbrella. This odd pairing of the two wildly different directors sees both of them working with a beloved franchise that has never gone into theĀ realm of ‘R’ rated content. Currently the project is in preproduction with a script in the works for the potential film.

Do we get Captain Kirk and Spock swearing at each other about what the French call Big Mac sandwiches? I sincerely hope so.

Abrams helped reinvigorate Star Trek with a 2009 film reboot starring Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto which saw success,Ā  followed it up with 2013’s ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’. He continued on in a executive producer role of the revamped Trek series withĀ  last year’s ‘Beyond’ which was directed by Justin Lin (‘Fast & Furious’).Ā As if Abrams who already broke ground with the ‘LOST’ TV series and ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, he now is going to tag team with one of the most successful ‘outlaw’ directors in the movie business.

Screen Junkies News breaks down all the geeky possibilities about where Tarantino can go with the Star Trek universe.

Luke From The Struts Gift To Foo Fighters

I’ve sort of been following this for a few weeks as I follow lead singer Luke Spiller’s GF Laura Cartier M.Ā on Instagram. She likes to post lots of BTS of The Struts on tour. Luke Spiller created this amazing design by hand and wanted to give it to the Foo Fighters as a gift for inviting The Struts on tour. Amazing.
