Which cast member cranked Green Day on the set of The Sopranos?

Someone asked the actor who played Christopher on The Sopranos if James Gandolfini listened to any music on set.  The answer is pretty amazing.

The man who played Tony Soprano — loved Green Day.  For real, according to an Instagram exchange this week that fans had with Michael Imperioli.

Wanna take a guess as to what his favorite Green Day was?  The answer is here, from Vulture.  But I’ll leave a giant hint at the end of this entry.  — [eric]

On this day: DMB tour bus dumped on tourists on Chicago River

It was a day that will live in infamy.

On this day in 2004, the Dave Matthews Band tour bus stopped on the bridge above the Chicago River at Kinzie Street with an architecture tour boat unfortunately underneath that bridge as the bus expelled its bathroom waste. Around 100 sightseers got to see, smell, and experience more of DMB than they ever needed to deal with. This ‘documentary’ from Consequence of Sound sees some of the people on that boat retell the crappy horror. Note it has a lot of graphic descriptions.

Riotfest.org reported that the bus driver involved had to pay a $10,000 fine, do 150 hours of community service and serve 18 months of probation.

Ben Gibbard covers ‘Centerfield’ on Mariner’s field

Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard is a proud son of Seattle and loves his hometown Mariners. So it was touching to hear the swooning voice do a spruced-up cover of the feel-good John Fogerty baseball anthem ‘Centerfield’  with some added references to Mariner greats like Ichiro Suzuki. Gibbard performed the solo acoustic cover on the field at T-Mobile Park with a great video showing kids practicing at home.

Gibbard has been able to produce some very touching moments lately with his at-home live streams during our current pandemic. He crafted a song for our stressed-out times right now with ‘Life in Quarantine’.

While you are here, enjoy the gift of Gibbard and company you should watch our Lounge session with DCFC from a few years back.

‘Animaniacs’ reboot sets premiere date on Hulu

They’re zany to the max, and they are coming back to your screens.

The irreverent animated series Animaniacs is being rebooted for Hulu and we now know thanks to Variety that the new episodes will be available on November 20th. The show last aired over 22 years ago, ending a 5 season run. The show will see the Warner siblings, Yakko and Wakko, and the Warner sister Dot back driving everyone crazy with sharp one-liners and destructive mayhem. The revived series will also feature the beloved Pinky and the Brain coming back to take over the world.

Another season of the show has already been greenlit for another season of fresh episodes in 2021. The series will once again be produced by Steven Speilberg under Amblin Television with Warner Bros. Animation.
