Debate concludes with keeping marijuana dispensary out of the Gold Coast

If you live in the Gold Coast and you were excited to be getting a brand new weed dispensary…. Well we have some bad news.

Residents were able to win a debate that will ultimately stop marijuana dispensaries from setting up shop in the Gold Coast.

Well, at least  there are still plenty of neighborhoods that can cash in on that green!

Lori Loughlin sentenced to 2 month in prison

Lori Loughlin was sentenced to serve 2 months in prison after her involvement in a college admissions scandal.

Her sentence will also include a $150,000 fine, 100 hours of community service and two years probation.

Her husband will serve as well. He was sentenced to 5 months in prison.

In a way this feels like nothing for a pretty unfair crime. She essentially bought her kid into a school and took that spot away from a kid who actually deserved it!

But you know what 2 months is at least something!

Don’t you wish they would have really thrown the book at her on this one though?

The statue of Chris Cornell in Seattle was vandalized

A bronze statue of Chris Cornell that sits outside of the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle Washington was vandalized.

The statue was commissioned by the late musician’s family shortly after his passing in 2017.

The family was devastated by the vandalization but felt thankful to the dedicated fans who arrived and attempted to clean the statue.

What is wrong with people!

Dark song and the Dark Knight: Nirvana in new ‘Batman’ trailer

It shows the gritty tone that reminds us he’s not Superman. and reminds us of the Dark Knight trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan. Kickass action, an unhinged city gripped by a showdown by the shadowy hero and the menacing unseen nemesis.  Yes to this, yes to all of this. Watch the must-see trailer for ‘the Batman’ starring Robert Pattinson and directed by Matt Reeves here. The film is due out next year. Throw in a respectful symphonic remix on Nirvana’s morose gem ‘Something in the Way’.

The song originally appeared on ‘Nevermind’ but the most memorable version of the track is the minimalistic version done for the classic ‘MTV Unplugged’ live album. There has been speculation that the song’s lyrics were inspired by a period in Kurt Cobain’s life where he was homeless and lived under a bridge on the Wishkah River in Washington but this has been disputed by several people who knew him. The bridge name-dropped in the song has been visited often by Nirvana fans over the years

This tweet some up our collective emotions.

Transparent toilets are a thing in Tokyo

These are real. They exist in a park in Tokyo and have been privately financed. It’s worth noting, that a special electric current in the transparent walls blocks the view to the world and it actually has an efficient feature: you know if the bathroom is occupied before you go in. Would you use one of these?

Batfleck returns! Ben Affleck returning to play Batman & more

Ben Affleck officially gave up the cape and cowl of Batman a few years ago following several films in the DC Cinematic Universe and backed away from also directing a solo Bat flick under fears it would trigger drinking issues he was dealing with. Now fast forward to this week, as we learn that Batfleck will rise for another role but he will not be the only big-name actor returning to be the Dark Knight.

The upcoming Flashpoint film will see the fastest hero in the DCU, the Flash speeding through multiverses that allow us to see multiple versions of the same characters. This allows Ben Affleck to portray Batman along with Michael Keaton who is also reportedly locked in for the film. Beyond the Trailer’s Grace Randolph breaks it all down in this video who also gets a scoop on Affleck possibly sticking around for more with the character on the HBO MAX streaming service.

Man stole 13 scratch off tickets then immediately tried to see if any of them were winners

If you steal something from a business, don’t immediately return to that same store!

Seems simple, but people will always surprise you.

You know, maybe go to the gas station down the street next time.

Kellogg’s just named their newest waffle after an STI

The R&D department was really slacking on this one!

They literally made a blue waffle.

If you don’t know what that is, GOOD! Please do NOT look it up.

Whoops!

Lori Lightfoot partially blames Mississippi for some of Chicago’s gun violence

Lori Lightfoot knows that there is a violence problem within the city of Chicago.

It’s not a secret.

But she now suggests that some of the problems with the amount of weapons coming into Chicago may be partially the fault of some of our neighboring states.

When in doubt, blame someone else!
