Mike Tyson Vs Roy Jones Jr fight night was electric!

Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. finally both returned to the ring on Saturday night and it was better than anyone could have imagined.

It was a night highlighted by great fights, some awesome musical performances, Snoop Dogg commentating wizardry, and some knock out punches!

One of the biggest surprises of the night was the highly anticipated fight between former NBA player Nate Robinson and Youtube/annoying person Jake Paul.

Things did not go so smoothly for the three time all-star dunk champion…

Oh, then Jake Paul called out Connor McGregor.

Then of course there was the fight we all came to see.

Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr.

It was a GREAT time, Snoop comparing it to his uncles fighting at a BBQ.

Even with their age, both fighters showed some amazing skills and went the distance for a called draw in the exhibition.

But what do you think? Is Iron Mike Tyson back? Or did Roy Jones Jr. get the best of the baddest man on the planet?

This Billie Eilish music video is never the same twice.

The number of times you could watch this “Bad Guy” video from Billie Eilish?  Infinite.

That’s because a website powered by machine-learning is creating random combinations of cover videos of the song.  It would take you 1.46 x 10 to the power of 100 years to see all the versions.  So get watching.  (Plus, it’s a cool way to see all the ways people have covered it)

YouTube called this the first infinite music video — but a lot of Twenty One Pilots fans were none-to-pleased about that — considering their never-ending video came out this summer.  — [eric]

Watch Mike Tyson & Roy Jones Jr. face off before PPV fight

It has been dubbed the ‘Lockdown Knockdown’ with tonight’s exhibition fight on pay-per-view with two all-time boxing greats squaring off with ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KO) and Roy Jones Jr (66-9, 47 KO). Outside of the superstar names, the bout has been garnering attention with unique rules for the fight under the California Athletic Commission, who has stated no official winner will be announced according to Sherdog. The fight will be contested in 8 2-minute rounds due to both fighters not agreeing to wear headgear. Commission officials have also stated a serious cut could end the fight and no knockouts will be allowed. The fight be judged by ex-fighters.

The fight will be on pay-per-view at 8 pm CST for $49.99 through traditional PPV providers and the FITE app on various streaming devices.

In a September interview with Joe Rogan, Tyson talked about how his wife told him he was a bit overweight, and reinvigorating his workout regime launched him into an intense journey back to the ring. The former world heavyweight champion detailed how four-division champion Jones became the opponent to get him to return to the ring for his first fight since 2005. Tyson notes this could start off a “legends only league” to get exhibition presentations with legendary figures in all sports.

Watch ‘the Movie Show’ roast the idea of movie talk shows

There are thousands of people talking about movies online like it was the only thing in the world. The fandom of the film creates some interesting characters in its own right, which is why this new SYFY show looks like must-see TV.

‘The Movie Show’ sees loveable smart asses Alex Stone and Adam Dubowsky voice the puppets Wade and Deb who are two conflicting TV hosts on a cable access TV show that reviews movies with demented spin-off sketches, ‘exclusive deleted scenes’, and much more. The new comedy series debuts tonight at 10:30pm CST/ 11:30pm EST on SyFy. You can also catch the debut on Sunday at the same time. You can catch new regular episodes Thursdays at 10pm CST/11pm EST in December. Watch the trailer and some teaser footage here.

A press release for the series says future ‘guests’ on the show include Bruce the shark from “Jaws”, Steven King’s laptop, the T-Rex from “Jurassic Park,” and Splinter from “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”. Yes, no blockbuster movie franchise except maybe Blockbuster Video since it does not exactly exist at the moment.

Get paid $2500 to watch 25 holiday movies in 25 days? I’ve had WORSE jobs….

A website wants to pay someone $2500 to screen 25 holiday classics in 25 days.  AND you get a bunch of streaming services for a year.  FINALLY —- a real way to make money from home (that isn’t OnlyFans).

Reviews.org will set one person up gift cards to cover Netflix, Hulu, Disney +, HBO Max, Apple TV+, and even Amazon Prime (which I assume would come with all that free package delivering?).  They then have to watch and answer questions on 25 holiday movies in 25 days — the list is below. Maybe someone from Chicago can be the official Cheermeister (although, I could do without the name).  Good luck.  — [eric]

Jimmy Fallon shares hilarious cooking failures for Thanksgiving

Whether you’ve overcooked the turkery or worse, there will be cooking failures today on Thanksgiving. Jimmy Fallon shared the best tweets at #CookingFail on his Thanksgiving Eve episode. Viewers shared some truly awful mistakes in making food from people mistaking human fingers for carrots to a ‘self-cleaning’ oven that destroys the holiday.

Now our own Jon Manley has his view what could be a cooking fail.

Watch man swimming unaware of hammerhead sharks circling him

Jason Macintosh posted this shocking video on Instagram with drone footage of an unaware swimmer floating on his back with severl hammerhead sharks swimming around him and even circling him. The swimmer even gives a thumbs up to the drone. And to the surprise of no one, this video comes from Miami Beach, Florida.

This is not the only animal story out of Florida this week. In south Florida, the weirdness continued when a man saved his adorable puppy from the jaws of an alligator and it was all captured on video. Watch that dramatic clip here.

River Cuomo makes thousands of demos available for sale.

Rivers Cuomo has a unique gift for Weezer fans — he’s made pretty much all of his demos available for purchase.

These are all facts:  It’s just under 2500 songs made available.  (That’s over 85 hours of material.)  The audio has not been listened to in years, so you don’t know what you are going to get (there’s actually a warning list below — and he’s asked people to let him know if they contain audio people shouldn’t hear.‼️).  And the reason this website even happened is because Rivers is taking a web programming course at Harvard.  FACTS.

Here’s a number of caveats from Rivers:

  1. It might have silence.
  2. It might be wildly inappropriate.
  3. It might have super low sound quality.
  4. It might just be me rambling, talking, making sounds.
  5. It may have already been shared or leaked.
  6. It might be just a drum beat. it might not have vocals.
  7. It might be a duplicate of another demo.
  8. It might be an inferior version of another demo.
  9. the information provided, such as year and description, might be incorrect.
  10. Also, over time, the contents of each bundle in the market might change.
  11. Or the metadata for a file might change.
  12. The price may change.

There may even be a holiday gift option coming soon, where you can buy for a friend and receive a personalized message from Rivers himself.  Keep checking back.  — [eric]

Mysterious metal structure discovered in Utah desert

As seen in the above video from Bloomberg Quicktales, Utah’s Department of Public Safety discovered this very mysterious mental monolith and yes, it feels like a scene pulled directly from the classic ‘2001 A Space Odyssey’. The metal structure is placed in a very remote canyon region of the desert region of Utah which many people have compared to the planet Mars. Yes, this all very weird.

ABC News has more story including insight from Utah state officials who claim they believe it is indeed man-made,

Stream Mystery Science Theater 3000 Turkey Day marathon here

It’s become its own cult internet TV tradition on Thanksgiving as an alternative to the Macy’s parade and football and this year it will be ridiculous as always. Mystery Science Theater 3000 is returning with its annual turkey day streaming marathon of classic episodes of the b-movie outer-space comedy rifffest series with new interstitial sketches this Thursday starting at 8am CST /9am EST. Brooklyn Vegan reported MST3K LIVE host Emily Marsh, along with Tom Servo (Conor McGiffin), Crow (Nate Begle), and GPC/MegaSynthia (Yvonne Freese), with appearances from MST3K creator Joel Hodgson, as well as Jonah Ray (Jonah Heston) and Rebecca Hanson (Synthia) from the Netflix series. You can watch on the MST3K’s Youtube channel here or in the video above on this page.

If you like your comedy with sci-fi flavor, check out this top ten list from WatchMojo.

Smelt like The Smiths

Back in 1991, Nirvana were invited to perform “Smells Like Teen Spirit” on the legendary BBC music show, Top Of The Pops.

Top Of The Pops was a British television institution well known for NOT allowing live singing, but rather the musical acts mimed their performances.

Producers relented somewhat and allowed Cobain’s vocals to be performed live with Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl miming along to a pre-recorded backing track.

Well, things got interesting….

In “Heavier Than Heaven”, a biography about Kurt Cobain written by Charles Cross, “Kurt hatched a plan with Novoselic and Grohl to make a mockery of their performance. As the backing track played, Kurt sang the vocals in a slowed-down, almost Vegas-like lounge version; he was attempting, he later claimed, to sound like Morrissey.”

Bravo!

Tofurky’s having a moment

It seems like we’re all doing Thanksgiving a little different this year. According to Tofurky, many people are going the plant-based route for their big meal.

Tofurky’s famous “Turkey Roast” saw a major spike in sales leading up to the holiday, with a 22% increase in purchases. The company says Covid-19 and more people leaning towards plant-based meals have made a huge impact.

Wider availability is also a factor, with Kroger stores now selling the brand across the country. Tofurky saw a similar rise in popularity in April with their Vegan Ham.

Watch Florida man save his puppy from an alligator

We love our dogs and we will do anything to keep them safe. That same predicament fell on a south Florida man who had to save his dog from an alligator.

74-year-old Richard Willbanks rushed into a lake, grabbed a gator that ran off with his beloved 3-month old King Charles spaniel puppy in its jaws, and pried its mouth open for the rescue. Willbanks with a cigar still in his mouth, got in the water, and saved his puppy Gunner while enduring gator bites himself. The entire scene was captured on a random camera ran by the Florida Wildlife Foundation. CNN interviewed Willbanks with a sleepy Gunner in his lap about the entire ordeal and how he stepped in for man’s best friend and proved he is a hero.

This is a very Florida story but not the one we are used to.

A Man Goes to the Doctor for Depression Over His Wife’s Affair . . . Turns Out the Affair Was with the Doctor

Here’s something that feels like it could ONLY happen in a movie, but it actually happened to some poor guy in real life.

A 47-year-old guy named Peirson Tone from Bend, Oregon was depressed a few years ago when his marriage fell apart because his wife had an affair.

So he went to the family doctor, a guy named Ronald Rosen, to get both counseling and a prescription for his depression.

But after the appointment, he found out who his wife had the affair with.  And yeah, you got it:  It was with Ronald.

So Peirson just sued Ronald for $2.9 million for professional negligence.

People Are Turning Their Giant Home Depot Skeletons into Christmas Decorations

In case you missed this, before Halloween, there was a RUN on a 12-foot-tall outdoor skeleton decoration.  They were $300 and Home Depot couldn’t keep them on the shelves.

That’s an expensive decoration, and it’s gotta be hard to store.  So . . . instead of taking them down, apparently lots of people have been repurposing their giant skeletons as Christmas decorations.

There are photos popping up online of the giant skeletons dressed as Santacovered in lights, or even in a Pilgrim costume for Thanksgiving.
