Justin Fields is doing what no man – and more importantly, no Bear – has done before. The second-year quarterback is finding plenty of space to etch his name into the history books as for the second week in a row, he’s rushed for over 100 yards. His 60+ yard scramble into the endzone makes him the first quarterback in the Super Bowl era to have two rushing TD’s over 60 yards in the same season.
This is all to say that the Bears suffered a humiliating 31-30 loss to the Detroit Lions after a missed Cairo Santos extra point opened the door for a last-second Lions win.
The Bears now sit at the bottom of their division with a 3-7 record, far worse than Brian predicted, but far better than most smart people thought they were going to do.
If you are thinking about chomping down on a Caniac Combo at the Southlake Mall in Hobart, think again. After months of construction and over a million dollars spent on the famed chicken-only joint that is slowly invading the midwest, Cane’s were notified by the mall that McDonald’s has “exclusive rights to sell chicken at the shopping center located next to Southlake Mall.”
“Incredibly, Defendants did not tell Raising Cane’s it would be unable to sell its chicken fingers at the Shopping Center until nearly eight months after watching Raising Cane’s spend nearly a year of time and over a million dollars to develop its new restaurant,” the lawsuit said.
This is a loss not only to the mall, but all of Lake County, as now their chances of sucking down some succulent Texas Toast are slimmer than ever before. Thoughts and prayers to you, Hobart.
If you’re on a Southwest flight, chances are you’re not in a good mood. A half hour into takeoff, you’re going to be sweaty and sticking to a leather seat that hasn’t been washed with more than a wet wipe in years. For Emily Kauai, those sticky-ass seats were made even worse by a manspreader that invaded her bubble.
It’s hard to believe TSA let him through with all of that heat he was packing.
Is this too far of a spread, or is she complaining too much? The conversation lives on Facebook!

Has inflation really affected people’s wallets? The answer is hell yes. You know it’s bad when someone pawns a coffin. Pasternack’s Pawnshop in Aurora recently acquired one. The owner Scott said more and more people are pawning at a record pace. One customer, who chose to remain anonymous, said that they’ve been in once a month to pawn personal items, instead of just once a year. Times are tough when gas prices are high, everything else is high too! “Our loans have gone through the roof with the economy being much lower and people needing more money,” Pasternack said. They’ve even seen a lot more white-collar customers these past few months. The National Pawnbrokers Association said the average amount people will borrow is about $150, and 85% pay that money back with interest and usually get their goods back.
The coffin is still there for a cool $499.00 if you’re in the market for a slightly used coffin, yikes.
Kids say the cutest things. Watch 3-year-old Charlotte recite the Pledge of Allegiance with a slight modification… are we sure this isn’t Brian’s kid?! <3 Lauren
Alexander Tominsky began his bizarre food challenge of eating an entire rotisserie chicken for 40 days straight because he said, ‘it seemed like the right thing to do.’ Tominsky, 31, is a waiter at a steakhouse and began his journey September 28th. He finished on Sunday at an abandoned pier, where hundreds gathered to watch him eat his final fowl. It all started with a hilarious flier, that encouraged people to watch him eat his 40th chicken, also adding that ‘this is not a party.’
According to a new study, these ten words are the most mispronounced by Americans. These are based on the average monthly Google searches ‘how to pronounce___.’ Some people have been saying these words wrong for years, so don’t feel stupid if you have too. Here are the top 10-
The people at Merriam-Webster would also like to add that these are only the most common. The population also says these words incorrectly a lot too- “victuals,” “awry,” and “epitome.”
This holiday season Miller Lite came up with the absolute best idea- a tree stand that is also a keg. The tree stand looks like a small table to support the tree, and inside of it is a quarter-barrel keg. That’s 83, 12 ounce brewskis. The stand itself can support a tree that weighs up to 150lbs. Starting November 10th, you can order the stand along with cool “beernaments” for the tree on their website for the affordable price of $49.99. Now that’s the type of innovation we need in 2022!

The truth is, there is no ‘one size fits all’ rule for people to follow about washing your hair. But Dr. Anthony Rossi, an assistant attending dermatologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City says that people need to give themselves a chance to have dirty hair and see how it goes. Maybe your scalp and hair won’t become instantly greasy after a day or two. Washing too often can dry or dull hair. The length between washes can depend on multiple things including hair type and style, how oily your scalp tends to get, age, and your activity levels. Dr. Rossi tells his clients to only wash once or twice a week, but definitely once if you have treated or bleached hair. Teenagers may need more washes due to access grease during those years, but on average MOST people don’t need to be using shampoo and conditioner everyday. No go take Dr. Rossi’s advice and see how long it takes your hair to actually get nasty.
Sunday was a beautiful day for some Bears Football at Soldier Field, even if we did end up losing (and even if it was my fault somehow for going to my first game.) I am a huge fan of Justin Fields and think he is going to develop into an amazing franchise QB. He broke the single-game NFL rushing record for a quarterback by going for 178 yards! Check out this awesome angle of his 61 yard rush for a touchdown. <3 Lauren
On Sunday morning, hundreds of people went up the Willis Tower (yeah yeah, Sears) stairwells, to raise money for a great cause. Sky Rise Chicago helps the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. They have a number of programs designed to enhance the quality of life for people who have lost ability due to serious injury or chronic conditions. Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is the global leader in physical medicine and rehabilitation for adults and children with the most severe, complex conditions — from traumatic brain and spinal cord injury to stroke, amputation and cancer-related impairment. The goal was $1 million dollars and they got pretty darn close with $970,000.
My goal was to finish the climb; there was no “race” for this girl. After 103 flights, I’m glad I went at a grandma’s pace. Slow and steady baby! Getting to the top was sweet, sweet victory, but the most beautiful thing was being able to climb next to folks who had gone through the programs at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab themselves. Seeing their results in action made it all worth it.
The city Christmas tree is up now in Millennium Park. It was selected from nearly 80 entries in the city’s annual hunt for a tree. The tree is 45 years old and is from a front yard in Morton Grove that a family used to decorate, until it just got too big. It’s the 109th annual tree and it will be on display through Jan 8th. Watch the lighting ceremony Nov. 18th at 6pm.
Cher went public with her relationship with a 36-year-old music executive named Alex Edwards, or “AE” and people are talking. They don’t care that she’s dating someone, they care that there is a 40 year age gap between the two. She posted a picture of them on her Instagram, and one fan commented, “It would be naïve not to question a 34-year-old’s motives and intentions. Our girl is smart but they don’t say love is blind for no reason at all.” Cher did not appreciate the sentiment and let everyone know how she really feels- “Haven’t You Got Anything Else 2 Do⁉️ Let Me Explain…I DONT GIVE A✈️FK WHAT ANYONE THINKS.” I guess when you’re 76 you really do care less about what people think.
This morning on Brian, Ali, and Justin, crew member Zach called in to talk about how he won $27k on a game show called Press Your Luck. The crazy thing about this story is that he was set to win over $400k, and tried to win the $1 million dollars. Instead, he hit a whammy- and ended up with $27k. He’s still a winner in our book. What did he do with the money? He helped his wifey buy a car, and got a nice kitchen backsplash; it really tied the room together nicely. Zach still tries to not think about all of the money that he could’ve had, he’s happy with what he’s got.
Here is the episode he was in-

We all love Walgreens and go there pretty frequently. The company, based in Illinois (woo woo!), has the slogan, ‘at the corner of happy and healthy.’ And did you notice something about every single Walgreens store? They’re ALL on a corner. Every one is located at the corner of happy and healthy. I was today years old when I learned that.
GOTCHA!!!! This is isn’t true, but it’s a fun harmless prank to play on people.
