A man spent about $50K to build a companion robot. Meet the Mark 1. He claims it’s not based on Scarlett Johansson. I’m sure he also claims he hasn’t tried to shower with it, too.

With early bird tickets on sale now, it looks like Riot Fest is set to release its 2016 bill (happening Sept. 16-18 at Douglas Park) soon. (Or, whenever the Riot Fest Twitter Guy feels like it). (READ MORE HERE)
A few possibilities not mentioned were Green Day – Could you imagine seeing them whilst standing up to your ankles in muds? Close your eyes as you listen to a Green Day song standing in a bathtub full of mud while wearing shoes you don’t care about if you need help. Yep. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME AM I RIGHT? Last time I saw them they pulled a kid out the crowd and had him play guitar on stage. IDK if the kid was a plant or not but it was pretty cool either way.
Soundgarden!! When Chris Cornell was here I asked him if he would please play Riot Fest with his friends from SG. He didn’t say no!!! So, there’s a chance you guys!! – @marconibologna
Marconi and I went to the Chicago Pizza Summit at Chop Shop yesterday, it was incredible!! All pizza everything 😀
The pizza and party king himself, Andrew WK was there with some inspiring and deep words about the best food on the planet. And partying.
Some of my favorites included the house-made giardiniera and PBR meatball pizza from Boiler Room, the vegan philly cheese pizza from Santullo’s, and the explosion of flavor that was the Hoisin BBQ, ginger beer braised pork belly, red bell pepper, fried cheese curds, cilantro & sriracha slice from Pie Eyed Pizzeria.
My favorite item from the US Pizza museum, the pizza scarf! Made by Jessica Marie Sisto, I am going to need one of these.
And Adam from Old Style had a pizza pouch!
You know, after completely overdosing on pizza I thought I would be all set on it for a long time… but I could really go for a slice right now…
Marconi made a video about our big day:
You can watch Andrew WK’s keynote address from the Chicagoist HERE

Hi, if you’re new. I make 3 videos a week, Monday Wednesday and Friday. You might like them, you might hate them, but you can’t unsee them. Unless you have amnesia. – Grace
Andrew W.K. is an amazing person. I love following the man on twitter because in a sea of internet negativity he is a shines a beautifully positive pepperoni-dotted light. I am so excited to see him at the Chicago Pizza Summit at Chop Shop Sunday, and will report back with his message for all of us. The Partiers. \m/ <3 @laurenoneil

Some days you find yourself roaming the depths of the Internet and end up reading an article without remembering how you got there in the first place. That happened today when I stumbled upon the Daily Dot’s “Here are 6 of the hottest caskets you can buy on Walmart.com,” which was as riveting as its title suggests. (READ MORE HERE)
I don’t want to be buried in one but it looks like a perfect napping casket. Am I right? – @marconibologna
Received a visit from the Dream Police <3
Can’t wait to see them at the Metro tomorrow night! <3 @laurenoneil
Waiting in line would be way less annoying if you had someone like this to ring you out. Dude seems pretty talented. Doubt he’ll be doing this for long.

Still have those late night pizza boxes stashed under your bed? Well, they could find a new home in the U.S. Pizza Museum which will debut during Old Style’s previously announced Pizza Summit on April 3. The pop-up exhibit on the second floor of Chop Shop will display artifacts like retro pizza boxes, vintage advertisements, a Lego pizza delivery guy and a copy of the film Mystic Pizza on VHS. (READ MORE HERE)
So if you’re like me SUPER BUMMED you didn’t get tickets to the Pizza Summit this weekend at least the US PIZZA MUSEUM is coming to Chicago next month!! Yes an entire museum devoted to pizza. I hope to learn of the first pizza delivery person or maybe learn why there are people who like pineapple on their pizza. I can’t wait!! – @marconibologna
If you haven’t already check out the latest episode of Not Ready For Broadcast. It’s a behind the scenes podcast here at 101 WKQX.
Check out the new video from Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats! -wALT
The lovely Declan McKenna stopped by to chat with wALT and play us a couple songs live in-studio. Listen to the interview and hear perform special versions of \”Brazil\” & \”Basic\” in the 101WKQX studio.
Minnesota pulled off the season sweep of the Blackhawks on Tuesday night. If that’s not bad enough, the Hawks might be without Duncan Keith for a bit. Keith was hit with a match penalty for intent to injure after swinging his stick ad hitting Charlie Coyle of the Wild in the face. Dunc will sit at least one game. Maybe more. If you didn’t see it here’s the play…

Tinley Park may be proud to be the 20th biggest city in Illinois even though that is… faint praise at best. It may also be a village, making its claim to be a fine-sized city semantically confusing. But here’s one thing you can’t knock Tinley Park for: Having an unambitious mayor. The village’s highly ambitious mayor, Dave Seaman, is making a play for the modernist blob that is the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. (READ MORE HERE)
The Mayor might want to reconsider after he realizes the magnitude of the Jabba The Hutt slide of neck folds. – @marconibologna
Local H frontman Scott Lucas stopped by the studio to break some exciting news about the 20th Anniversary Shows for their \”As Good as Dead\” album. If you missed it on-air, you can listen below:
More pizza stuff! Coinciding with the Chicago Pizza Summit this Sunday, the U.S. Pizza Museum will open it’s doors for one day only at the Chop Shop!
Marconi is already camped outside 😀
