(from mashable.com)

Sure it’s easy to have doubts about the wonderfully convenient idea of drone pizza deliveries. But Domino’s Pizza says it’s done it for real this time. The chain said it made its first commercial delivery in New Zealand to an actual, real human customer on Wednesday at 11:19 a.m. local time. And egads! The drone delivery was even approved by the country’s civil aviation authority. The order was for a peri-peri chicken pizza and chicken and cranberry pizza (odd choice, but OK), and delivered to a customer in the suburb of Whangaparaoa, 25 kilometres (15 miles) north of Auckland. Dexter Fowler denies Cubs qualifying offer, now a free agent

cwungfqxgaac0rq

Is the World Series party for the Chicago Cubs coming to an end earlier than expected? It is natural with any championship team, that successful players can be lured by huge increases in pay on the free market. It appears  that is what is happening based on a report this afternoon by the Tribune, that Chicago Cubs center fielder Dexter Fowler has recently denied the team’s qualifying offer of $17.2 million offer for a one-year deal. Fowler now a free agent, is able to court potential offers from the Cardianals, Giants, Mariners, and Rangers. The Cubs must finalize their 40 man roster by Friday, with 34 players currently, with few spots left open for any possible trades or free agent acquisitions.  Read the full story with further analysis here.

It would be a noticeable loss for the Cubbies as Fowler had quite the season in the leadoff spot, where he was .276 at bat with 13 homers, 48 RBI and 84 runs scored.

Westworld: Those Familiar Piano Covers

Maybe you didn’t pick up on it right away, considering it was on player piano in the middle of a synthetic Wild West themed park.  But listen again.  During some episodes of HBO’s Westworld, those would be the familiar sounds of Soundgarden, Radiohead, and The Cure.  Interesting companion to the struggles of synthetically-created androids becoming self-aware.  Oh, and if you haven’t checked out the show yet, the songs stand on their own….haunting, different, beautiful.  (Original post:  Consequence Of Sound)

SOUNDGARDEN – BLACK HOLE SUN

THE CURE – A FOREST

RADIOHEAD – NO SURPRISES
