DAVE GROHL’S MOM PENS BOOK ABOUT RAISING ROCK STARS
You may have witnessed the crowd at Wrigley cheer for Dave Grohl’s mother when the Foo Fighters played Chicago. How that could not bring a smile to your face, I don’t know.
Virginia Grohl knew while raising her son that he was a natural rock star. In a new book released this past week (From Cradle to Stage), the former schoolteacher not only talks about raising her rock star, but interviews the mothers of Dr. Dre, Michael Stipe, Amy Winehouse, and Mike D of the Beastie Boys about their experiences.

COACHELLA, WEEKEND 2: VINYL ATTRACTION FOR RECORD STORE DAY
Elle King was supposed to get married last weekend (4/15). Instead, she went to an Eagles of Death Metal concert. I see absolutely nothing wrong with this.

WATCH: BASTILLE PLAY “BLAME” ON TV
Finally, if you missed Bastille performing on The Late Late Show with James Corden this week — here’s their song “Blame.” (Not performed in a car, by the way.)
Two big reasons why the creepy crawlies find their way in: The warmth (from the internal power supply) — and the seclusion (usually in an entertainment center). Which is the hallmark of pretty much ANY gaming unit. So why the PS4 over other platforms? The bigger ventilation grates provide easier access, according to experts.
This week’s first sweep loss to the Nashville Predators by the Blakchawks was a shocking blow for Chicago sports fans. Many feeling the Blackhawks dynasty has a faltered, especially after a strong regular season. Hawks GM Stan Bowman spoke to the media and seemed to share the sentiment. It’s worth noting in this short speech he stated that Coach Joel Quenneville is still the team’s coach, but he did not allude direcly to any other major changes to the team. It’s clear Bowman is going to do some moves in the off season.
Stan Bowman: "We did not come even close to reaching the standard we've set for ourselves over the years here."
Fall Out Boy are up to something big involving movie theaters, cryptic tweets, and sending fans to find clues that all lead to the date 4.28.17. Call me a sucker for an online gorilla marketing maze, anyone remember all the fun stuff you could find out about ‘The Dark Knight’ Batman movies before they came out? That was a hoot. The characters in the found footage monster mash movie ‘Cloverfield’ had their own Myspace pages which hinted at what was going to happen in the flick. Yes, the Myspace reference made me feel dated as well.
Now a band that rose from VFW Halls in Arlington Heights to headlining Riot Fest, Fall Out Boy is sending their faithful fans out on a chase for clues. Here’s a timeline of it all. Yesterday the band tweeted out this. It got the FOB fandom going bonkers retweeting it over 2 thousand times through out the day. It sent fans around Chicago to movie theaters.
A saint of a fan followed the clues to an actual movie theater to watch the theater as directed. And he may broken the rules by filming something on his phone in the theater, but it’s worth it for this delight morsel that will have you drooling if your a fan of Patrick Stump and company.
Yep, it looks like we are getting something ( let’s just assume, it’s new music) from Fall Out Boy on the 28th. That’s this Friday. Okay, you can breathe now…UNTIL THIS?!
25 years ago to the day, The Bestie Boys third record, Check Your Head came out.
Check out Flood Magazine’s lengthy and in-depth tribute to the band, the album and more right here.

Murdoc and 2D sat with host Mistajam for a half hour, answering questions from him and submitted by fans. The two came off as funny and strangely real during the chat, which covered a wide range of topics, ranging from 2D’s high-waisted “mom jeans” to his hilarious encounter with singer, model and actress Grace Jones during the sessions for their new album, Humanz, to Murdoc’s favorite writer “Bob Kerouac, a distant relation of Jack who wrote a book called By the Side of the Road.” (MORE HERE)
