The conversations about 13 Reasons Why and its suitability for young viewers and the television landscape at large continues, but Netflix will address at least one concern: Content warnings. The show, which dropped March 31, will now contain an overall warning advising viewer discretion for potentially troubling content. Having had personal experience with losing friends to suicide I know all too well what it feels like. I think the creators did a great job with this show. It has opened conversation on the topic and started a dialogue between parents and their kids as well as among friends. There is definitely some content that was difficult to watch involving rape and other violence. Again it does serve a purpose and I feel the story connects in a way that brings to surface many issues faced by those coming up through high school and as adults too. The underlined theme is to be better to each other. We hear it all the time especially when there’s a tragic situation. I think this show gets the point across very well and actually leaves you with a bit of hope that things can get better. Watch it if you haven’t already.

After a messy debacle with TNA Impact Wrestling, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan is throwing his hat back in the industry ring and finalizing a deal to purchase the National Wrestling Alliance. (MORE HERE)
I know Billy is a very passionate wrestling fan, but does he have what it takes to go full Vince McMahon? It seems as though it’s not an easy business to be in and even at best NWA will most likely be secondary to WWE if it has any success at all. That said, it would be cool to see someone like Billy succeed as a wrestling company owner. He’s got a boy like love for it and I think he actually appreciates the artist side and writing that goes into it.

“Roseanne” is the latest TV show from the ’90s to be revived . . . although it isn’t COMPLETELY official yet.
The producers of the original show are onboard, along with cast members Roseanne Barr, Sara Gilbert, and John Goodman, which is interesting because HIS character Dan DIED at the end of the original show. READ MORE
In what might one of the biggest concert fails in recent years, an exclusive V.I.P. music festival that was supposed to happen this weekend crumbled around the few guests who shelled out big dough to be there.

The Fyre Festival was billed as a wealthy millennial island party, the likes of which the world had never seen. An entire mini-city was to spring up from the Bahamas, teeming with models, celebrities, and of course, music. Blink-182 was among the bands that was supposed to be appearing at this festival, the brain child of Ja Rule and promoter Billy McFarland. They reportedly pulled out way before the disaster.
You may have heard by now the horror stories by now. Instead of gourmet food, cheese sandwiches. Instead of private sleeping villas, a game of musical chairs with the few tents that were there to house guests. Instead of every little need taken care of, guests were thrown cardboard boxes and told to scavenge for anything useful. Instead of a flawless cashless payment system, many people were stranded in the encampment without ways to fly out.
Here’s what it was supposed to be (from NYMag.com):
Here’s the final product:

This article best sums up the experience — the story of one of the planners hired to make it happen in just two months. It was a disaster waiting to happen, yet the powers that be pushed forward.
Over the weekend, the promoters got everyone out, apologized, and said they would try again.
I’ve helped plan festival concerts of a large scale. I’m talking a full-day schedule with a dozen and a half bands. We took six months to plan them. And that was with all the infrastructure already in place. I’m all for having a dream, but when you fail listen to the experts around you, I don’t have an ounce of sympathy. — [eric]
Nintendo which has been making waves with it’s recent hit new console Switch and the short-but-successful retro box NES Classic, but they are not done. This week the company announced the addition of a new handheld device called Nintendo 2DSXL. This will compliment the already loved 3DS devices which have been an underrated joy in the video game for a couple years now. The 2DSXL will be priced at the attractive cost of $149 with a release date of July 28th currently in place.
But 3DS users don’t worry, you don’t have to freak out like I did when I couldn’t find a Switch or a NES Classic in stores when they were sold out. You are not getting left out in the cold, as Nintendo has officially stated they will continue to release games on the device.
The oldest operation bar in Chicago has closed it’s doors. Schaller’s Pump which has been in operation since 1881, closed up according a report published yesterday by the Sun Times. The Bridgeport staple was ran by the Scahller family for it’s entire run holds Chicago’s liquor license No. 6. It endured multiple wars, economic strife, and even Prohibition but it closed it’s doors for good this weekend.
If you are a Chicago White Sox, you likely pre or post gamed at this cozy brick and wood saloon which your dad or unlce told you to go to. I drank there more than a few times, putitng a beer down fast so I could get to my seat in bleachers before the first pitch. This is truly a sad day to lose a beloved Southside gem that has been a part of living and working in the city.
Check out these great reflections of this multi-generational family owned business. It’s really heartwarming to hear Kim Schaller talked about the local luminaries frequenting the bar, the Sox bringing in the World Series trophy into the bar, and the stories that have been shared at one of the greatest bars in Chicago history.

Even the most casual follower of Riot Fest’s Twitter feed knows that the festival has long had an obsession with actor and musician John Stamos. In 2013 the festival proved their devotion by featuring a life-sized butter Stamos bust on the grounds that year, and the exhibit was hugely popular. We know. It was almost impossible to get a decent picture of the thing with so many people gawking at it. (MORE HERE)

Taco Bell is expanding on its boozy concept and bringing a second Chicago location of Taco Bell Cantina to the Loop. Eater reports that the second location will be coming to 407 S. Dearborn St. There’s no word yet on exactly when it might open. Taco Bell Cantina opened its first location in the country in Wicker Park in 2015, followed by other locations in Las Vegas, Austin, San Francisco and Newport Beach. It serves beer, too-cold wine and boozy slushies and a special “tapas” menu alongside classics, like gorditas and Doritos Locos tacos. (MORE HERE)
Their drinks are really good. I’m excited that this new location will be right around the corner from Harold Washington Library. Get boozy and go read some books!!

90’s sitcom hit ‘Roseanne’ set for reboot with stars Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, and other central actors returning according to a story broken today by Deadline. This follows the trend of TV reboots with ‘Full House’ on Netflix and the upcoming NBC return of ‘Will & Grace’. The ‘Roseanne’ series is reported to have 8-epsiode production schedule with the show’s original home ABC and Netflix looking at taking on the modern take of the realistic family comedy that ran from 1988 to 1997.
Though the show had a strong overall run, the finale (or now, the original finale..ugh) left a lot of open ended questions and did not reel all in the emotions of being attached the characters who had earlier in the final season become multi-millionaires. The final episode felt really underwhelming for fans who stayed with the series through nine seasons. Watch Mojo runs down the top 10 most dissappointing finale episodes in TV and ‘Roseanne’ makes the list. SPOILERS!
Blink-182 just tweeted another new song from their upcoming deluxe edition of California. They say it’s the “strangest song (they’ve) ever recorded.” Titled “6/8” because of its time signature and one of their favorites because it’s aggressive. I think it is my new favorite:
