Chris Cornell, Eddie Vedder’s Final ‘Hunger Strike’ Duet

(rollingstone.com)

When Soundgarden and Pearl Jam both appeared on the lineup for the 2014 Bridge School Benefit it meant that, not only would drummer Matt Cameron be pulling double duty, but a Temple of the Dog reunion was practically inevitable. It hadn’t happened since Pearl Jam’s 20th anniversary celebration in September of 2011 when Chris Cornell came out for a four-song Temple of the Dog mini set, and there was no way they were going to let him remain backstage and pass up the opportunity to do it again.  (MORE HERE)

Chris did perform with Temple Of The Dog in November in Seattle but Eddie wasn’t at that performance. However, below is a video clip of what would be Chris Cornell’s final performance of Hunger Strike with the band.

Going through some old videos in my phone and came across this….Realizing this video (November 21st at The Paramount Theater in Seattle) would be the last time that Cornell would perform "Hunger Strike" with Temple of The Dog. #RIP

Protests for $15 Minimum Wage

Do you think fast food workers should make $15 per hour?

McDonald’s employees and other activists across the city gathered earlier this week to protest in favor of raising the minimum wage to $15. The Fight for Fifteen movement has had some success in previous years, such as a city ordinance being passed to raise the minimum wage incrementally until 2019, when the hourly wage will be $13. It is set to increase to $11 per hour on July 1st.

Protests were held at McDonald’s corporate headquarters in suburban Oak Brook, as well as the construction site of the future HQ location in Chicago’s West Loop. READ MORE

Fidget Spinner Porn Is the Hottest Thing on Pornhub Right Now

I’m not sure who looks at a fidget spinner and thinks, “Man, it’d be super hot to play with one of these during sex” . . . but clearly it’s A LOT of you perverts.

According to Pornhub, FIDGET SPINNER PORN is the hottest thing on their site right now.  The number of searches is up 282% in the past two weeks . . . to the point where now 2.5 million people are hunting for fidget spinner porn every day.

Women are 19% more likely to search for it than men, and people between 18 and 24 years old are by far the most likely to watch it.  And yes, there ARE porn clips of people using fidget spinners in . . . um . . . creative ways during sex. READ MORE

If you cheat on Pokemon Go, you can NOT catch ’em all

Niantic, the company behind the still-very popular ‘Pokemon Go’ game enacted new measures recently that will make it harder for players using cheater systems and a third party resources to find the hardest to catch-Pokemon characters out ‘in the wild’. Previously flagged accounts are now unable to see and catch the most desired Pokemon characters.

Now if you think the game that seemed to be in the news every single day at some point last year, is now dead, you are mistaken. ‘PkGo’ is still very popular with IGN reporting the game has 65 million active users in the month of April 2017, easily making it one of the top mobile games.

Here are some reasons so many did not feel the need to keep walking around their local Pokestops. Looper breaks down all the technical reasons why more than a few million people got off the game

New leaked photos reportedly reveal the final design of the iPhone 8

(from mashable.com)

We’ve officially gone beyond the iPhone 8 specs and supply chain rumor phase — now we’re in full-on production photo leak territory.

New leaked images purported to be the molds used to make the new iPhone models have hit the web, surfacing first on Slashleaks. The pics give us a sneak peek at what could be the final design of the upcoming iPhone 8 — the molds fall in line with what we’re expecting from Apple in its next line of phones, and appear to be identical to other recently leaked images of a dummy version of the phone. White Stripes’ Frontman Pens Children’s Book

Remember this one from The White Stripes?

Jack White is putting out his first children’s book based on the 2001 song.  We’re Going To Be Friends will tell the tale of meeting Suzy Lee and what it is like to make friends at the beginning of the new school year.  That might sound familiar, considering the original premise of the song and lyrics match.

According to stuff I’ve read on this, the new book will be released on November 7th…along with two new versions of the song, which includes one sung by an elementary school.  — [eric]

Approved Fidget Spinner Use: Bass Guitar

This guy gets it.

Prior to this, what practical good was the fidget spinner?  It’s most notable thing to date was nearly becoming an instrument of airway obstruction.  One does not simply relieve stress by creating a stressful medical situation…at least in my mind anyways.

Check out this turn on “Misirlou”…better known as the opening theme song to the movie Pulp Fiction:

And if you thought this bassist was a one trick pony, watch him play Red Hot Chili Peppers…with a red hot chili pepper:

Hmmmmmm.  — [eric]

The Latest on the Ariana Grande Concert Bombing in Manchester

Here’s what we know…

  • Twenty-two people were killed and 59 others were wounded in a bombing at about 10:30 p.m. on Monday in the foyer outside the main hall of the Manchester Arena.
  • Prime Minister Theresa May condemned the attack as an act of “appalling, sickening, cowardice” in a statement delivered on Tuesday morning.
  • The police say a man detonated an “improvised explosive device” and died at the scene. Investigators say they believe the man acted alone, but they are trying to determine whether he was part of a wider network. Mrs. May said law enforcement believed they knew the identity of the attacker, but were not ready to confirm his name. There were reports that the explosive device used nuts, bolts or nails as shrapnel.
  • The blast occurred just as a concert by the American pop star Ariana Grande was ending. The police say children were among those killed. Ms. Grande was not injured.
  • ISIS has said one of its members carried out the attack on Manchester Arena last night. The Associated Press and monitoring agency SITE Intelligence Group are reporting that the group has claimed responsibility for the bombing.

I’ve watched James Corden’s message to Manchester several times this morning and I think he says it best… Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Manchester right now.

Tyler Joseph Slip And Fall

While we were busy at PIQNIQ Saturday, twenty one pilots were playing Hangout Fest (before their set was cut short due to weather)

Tyler Joseph had a little slip and fall off the piano but recovered like a champ, not missing a beat.

Because it’s the internet, there is a compilation/slip and fall mashup of the event:
