The City of Chicago announced that (September 5th) Tuesday’s screening of the rock comedy classic ‘Wayne’s World’ at Jay Pritzker Pavilion (201 E. Randolph St.) inside Millennium Park will have a special guest, the rock legend in the film that Wayne and Garth have a special moment with, Alice Cooper. Yeah, that Alice Cooper will give a special introduction before the movie and have a ‘cameo performance’ at 6:30pm shortly before the movie starts in the state-of-the-art open-air pavilion. The screening is free and it will close out the city’s summer movie series. Working downtown, I suggest if you want to make it out for this special event you should get there at least before 6pm for a decent spot.
‘Wayne’s World’ started as a reoccurring sketch on SNL in the late 80’s and early 90’s before making the jump to the big screen in a surprise blockbuster hit in 1992, directed by Penelope Spears. People in the fictional home of Wayne Cambell Aurora, this past summer through a series of events celebrating the movie including breaking the world record of headbanging.

It might be time to give Danielle Bregoli a new nickname, because you’re less likely to “cash” her “ousside” these days than you are “cash” her in the studio. Because yes, the 14-year-old is officially launching her own rap career under the name “Bhad Bhabie” (which TMZ says is pronounced as “bad baby,” extra consonants be damned). READ MORE

Liam Gallagher performed a full set this weekend at the Reading Festival in the UK. Yes, unlike Lollapalooza where he stormed off after a few songs due to a technical issue, Liam actually played a full show!
We are kidding, but his Reading set is getting rave reviews. Still what is a Gallagher performance without something eventful happening then just the emotive music? Apparently someone stole Gallagher’s sunglasses backstage and the Manchester musician whose known to shout out against his detractors, took his shadeless anger to Twitter in a NSFW work post I can’t even share. He also posted about an unfortunate and unexplained death of a young concert goer at the festival, NME has more on that here.
Check out the videos of it here. Gallagher is touring behind his solo debut ‘As You Were’ which was released in June.
Check out his goosebumps-educing rendition of ‘Wonderwall’. It’s special to hear that many sing together with a song they have cherished for so long. Hopefully this magic continues on November 21st at the Rivera.
Television is filled with truly wondrous shows right now. Whether you get them through your cable channels or a streaming service, there is just a lot of great TV to watch every week. Sunday nights in particular have seen the rise of two shows to the top of the pop culture mountain: ‘Game of Thrones’ on HBO and ‘Rick & Morty’ on Adult Swim. The debate pot about which Sunday show is tops was stirred in a big way, by Adult Swim themselves this past weekend.
Both shows have their die hard fan-bases. ‘GoT’ just wrapped up their 7th seasons with a big cliffhanger and continue to get only bigger audiences talking about what will happen next in the fantasy drama series. ‘R&M’ is currently a few episodes into it’s 3rd season with the show getting rave reviews from fans and critics. Insert the serious shade casted in one of Adult Swim’s clever on-air ‘bumpers’ this past Sunday. Bumpers are the plain text humor on the screen that merges in between the shows in the offbeat late night lineup on Cartoon Network. These help AS stand out with a different sense of how to present their shows. It also helps AS make jokes about topical things or simply promote their offbeat web exclusive content. This week they used a bumper to take a shot at the writing changes in the most recent season of ‘Game of Thrones’. Here is a screenshot.
The team behind ‘Rick & Morty’ was quick to distance themselves from the shade bomb and state their support for the dragon royal rumble. Yes, this is may be a crack at the focus on flashy action sequences in the just-wrapped Season 7 and several un-paid off sub-story lines.
We had nothing to do with that game of thrones bumper after last night's ep. We hadn't seen it, that was all @adultswim. We ❤️Thrones.

Justin Roiland, one of the creators, producers, and voices of ‘R&M’ even chimed in with his peaceful bow to the Throne.
Just FYI, we had nothing to do with the GOT adult swim bumper from last night. Didn't even notice it.

DJ JAZZY JEFF & THE FRESH PRINCE debuted a new EDM-style track called “Get Lit” at Britain’s Livewire Festival. It’s their first song together since “Lovely Daze”, which came out in 1998 . . . 19 YEARS AGO.
According to “NME”, Will said the song was created in light of the “chaos and confusion” going on in the world. He added, quote, “I wanted to make a song that allowed people to let their light shine.”
