John Daley flips on soda pop tax, boosting repeal effort

Cook County Board Commissioner John Daley has decided to vote to repeal the controversial soda tax, boosting the chances for repeal next week.
“I am going to vote to repeal,” Daley told the Chicago Tribune. “I listened to the community, the residents I represent, and there’s been a strong outcry.
Looks like my soda pop speakeasy business venture will be of no use now!! THANKS A LOT JOHN DALEY!!
Rock and Roll HOF 2018 nominees announced
What better place than Cleveland, what better time than 2018…
The 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees have been revealed. This years finalists are Rage Against the Machine, Radiohead, Kate Bush, The Cars, Depeche Mode, Dire Straits, Eurythmics, J. Geils Band, Judas Priest, LL Cool J, The MC5, The Meters, Moody Blues, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, Nina Simone, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Link Wray, Bon Jovi and The Zombies.
First time nominees include Nina Simone, the Eurythmics, Dire Straits, Judas Priest, Kate Bush, Moody Blues, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
The top five vote-getters will be announced in December and then inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April of 2018.
Artists become eligible for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25 years after the release of their first record. Besides demonstrating unquestionable musical excellence and talent, inductees will have had a significant impact on the development, evolution and preservation of rock & roll.
The 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class included ELO, Joan Baez, Journey, Pearl Jam, Tupac Shakur, and Yes.

Bob’s Burgers Movie Announced

20th Century Fox has announced a “Bob’s Burgers” movie, Deadlinereports. The film is currently slated for release on July 17, 2020. “We know the movie has to scratch every itch the fans of the show have ever had, but it also has to work for all the good people who’ve never seen the show,” series creator Loren Bouchard said. “We also know it has to fill every inch of the screen with the colors and the sounds and the ever-so-slightly greasy texture of the world of Bob’s—but most of all it has to take our characters on an epic adventure. In other words, it has to be the best movie ever made. But no pressure, right?!” Bouchard added on Twitter that they are still considering titles, and joked that it may be “Horseplay, the Horsening.” (MORE HERE)
Netflix is raising its prices

Get ready to pay just a bit more for your Netflix subscription. The streaming video service will be raising prices on its middle and top tier plans in the U.S. starting in November. Subscribers who currently pay for the standard $9.99 service will be charged $10.99. The price of the premium tier will rise from $11.99 to $13.99. Last nights’ Queued Up show with Welshly Arms was a blast. This retro blues, soulfully edgy, alterna rock band from Cleveland gave a much needed break from the world we’re in. What an escape it was. The only thing that brought the crowd at Bottom Lounge back down from the cloud was this amazingly perfect tribute to Tom Petty. While we’ve seen many great covers in the last few days, many agaped jaw could be seen as this rendition of ‘Running Down A Dream’ was performed.

BREAKING: Stephen Paddock Booked Hotel Overlooking Lollapalooza 2 Months Before Vegas Massacre
TMZ is reporting that Stephen Paddock had two rooms booked at Black Stone Hotel during Lollapalooza.
He booked one room for August 1, 2017, 2 days before the August 3 kickoff and then booked a second room for an August 3 arrival. Both rooms had an August 6 checkout .. that’s when Lollapalooza ended.
Sources tell TMZ “Paddock specifically requested both rooms be a “view room” which only face Grant Park, where the concert was being held. And here’s the scariest part … it’s difficult if not impossible to flee because of the river. Paddock had never booked a room at the hotel before, nor had his girlfriend.”
Paddock never showed. He also had a room in Vegas overlooking the Life is Beautiful festival the weekend before Route 91.
