The owner of the Windy Kitty Cat Cafe and Lounge admitted to a little stage fright last week, as she prepared to open her new Bucktown business which officially debuts to the public on Monday at 1760 W. North Avenue. That doesn’t make a Jennifer Tiner a fraidy-cat, but she had a few jitters as she needed to find a new cat supplier when the original shelter pulled out at the last second.
“I felt like I was opening a restaurant without food,” Tiner said.
Windy Kitty quickly rebounded, coming terms to an agreement with Chicago Animal Care and Control. The group will provide the 12 to 15 cats visitors will see roaming around the space. They’ll have to go through animal care to adopt any animals, but Tiner is happy to provide a place to relax and learn. She also sees Windy Kitty as potentially popular with private events — imagine snapping an adorable photo of young children playing with cats and posting the shot onto Instagram. (MORE HERE)

SPOILER ALERT! (But only if you haven’t seen The Empire Strikes Back.)
The Last Jedi might be considered failure at the box office…if only compared to its predecessor. $220 million in the first weekend makes it the second best North American debut of all time. The cast was making the rounds on television to promote the film, including popular Irish talker The Graham Norton Show.
No surprise that the CGI and film tricks have changed much between 1980 and now…but here, Mark Hamill reveals how they made the Force work back in the day…and it is ridiculously low tech, as you will see. — [eric]
So with just two pretty common household items — a cell phone camera and fishing line — you can be a Jedi master. Or something.
Speaking to fans directly this week during an Instagram live Q&A, Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda addressed the blurry future of the band following the death of their beloved singer Chrester Bennington who passed away in July from suicide. Shinoda made one thing very clear, there will not be a live show with a hologram projection of Bennington.
“Can we not do a holographic Chester? I can’t even wrap my head around the idea of a holographic Chester. I’ve actually heard other people outside the band suggest that, and there’s absolutely no way. I cannot f**k with that,. I can’t do a hologram Chester you guys, that would be the worst. For any of you guys who have lost a loved one, best friend, family member, can you imagine having a hologram of them? Awful. I can’t do it. I don’t know what we’re going to do, but we’ll figure it out eventually.” said Shinoda according to Alternative Nation.
LP released the live album ‘One More Light Live’ on Friday, a collection live recordings on their last tour of Europe with Chester in the spring/early summer of 2017. The recordings take on a whole new meaning considering these would be the last shows with Chester and his amazing voice fronting one of the biggest alt bands of a generation. You can find it on all major streaming platforms including Apple, Spotify, and Google Music.
Here is ‘Crawling’ from the new live album.
LIVE FROM NEW YORK, IT’S SATURDAY NIGHT!

It’s gets better when the biggest band in the land and the most popular comedian in the world combine to make tonight’s broadcast from Studio 8H even more memorable. Tonight’s episode will be hosted by Kevin Hart fresh off the release of ‘Jumanj: Welcome to the Jungle” and featuring our beloved Foo Fighters who ramping for a big stadium tour of the United States this summer.
Do we get see Dave Grohl and company in a sketch? The Foos have proven again and again their taste of humor is wild and pronounced, so it would be a hoot to see the guys involved in something beyond their two song performances. On Halloween, Grohl filled in for Jimmy Kimmel on his late night show in late october, dressing up as another famous late night talk show host. Watch that here.

While some movie theaters are working to entice moviegoers with gourmet small plates, truffle flavoring, and craft cocktails, others are leaning in the opposite direction. Regal Cinemas, it appears, will now just dust some popcorn with Cheetos dust. In a move that should confuse the senses that much more, they’ll be serving this hybrid snack in the same 32 oz. cups that serve as vessels for ungodly amounts of soda. (MORE HERE)
Netflix’s new releases for January 2018 are actually pretty intense. There is a lot more content leaving than usual to go along with an unprecedented amount of new (and old) titles arriving. Expect more of this as the streaming services grow into themselves a bit more, and other media entities decide they want to go their own way in the streaming realm. (MORE HERE)

Road trips will never be the same! Dip Clip makes it easy to enjoy all your favorite condiments on the go.
At Milkmen Design we believe that dipping sauces were made to go with nuggets and fries. For generations, humans had to choose between making a mess in their vehicle or consuming bland, sauce-free food. We were tired of standing by idly as the perfect union of fries and nuggets, and the precious sauces that compliment them, grew strained. So we created the DipClip to repair this relationship, reuniting ketchup with french fry, nugget with BBQ, and so on. (MORE HERE)
