It still blows my mind that I get to work with Walter Flakus from Stabbing Westward every day on 101WKQX. I love this band so much and Saturday’s show at the House of Blues to commemorate 20 years of Darkest Days was amazing. Here are a couple clips I took:

We talk the new album Generation Rx — with discussions on the pain of addiction, mental illness, and social media perfection — along with a call to get out and vote. Plus, hear about all the bands Good Charlotte grew up watching as kids at a very famous festival…and how they ended up taking that very stage in front of 100,000 hometown fans. —- [eric]

In a get-out-the-vote event this weekend in Los Angeles, Foo Fighters mastermind Dave Grohl got back behind the kit for some memorable performances with Karen O and Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yehas which included ‘Heads Will Roll’. He also jammed with Beck on ‘Where it’s At’. This also featured segments from Chic, ZZ Topp, and others.
You can watch both performance here and get out to vote on Tuesday!

Tyler Joseph broke it down to just the keys and his voice in a recent sit down with BBC Radio 1. Check out this version of “My Blood.” It’s pretty breathtaking. Plus as a bonus, you get “Ride” and “9 Crimes.” And when you are done with that, you can scroll further and get episode 2 of Twenty One Pilots’ video diary from the road — “The Bandito Tour.” — [eric]
It was on this night two years ago the Chicago Cubs won their first World Series title in over a century. I’m gonna relive that moment by doing exactly what I doing that night…by jumping on a roller coaster of emotions, and letting my anxiety pilot the ship. I wouldn’t trade that Game 7 for anything in the sports world, though. NOTHING.
Here are a three video reminders of something amazing — something 108 years in the making. Two of them are 360 vids, so feel free to swipe around. #gocubsgo. — [eric]

It feels like salt being rubbed into the wounds left behind the Double Door being forced out of their home in the middle of Wicker Park. The landlord has found a new tenant. Yeti. The historic music venue is turning into a retail storefront that sells insulated cups. More from Block Chicago HERE.
I am less than excited. How do you feel about it?
