There was a collective freak-out yesterday from fans of Friends and the many who recently discovered the popular 90’s/00’s sitcom, when many started to see notification on Netflix that the show would leave the streaming service on January 1st. Those fears were dealt very quickly by Netflix who said the Jennifer Aniston-lead comedy will be sticking around through 2019. According to several industry reports including Consequence of Sound, the streaming company dropped $100 million to get the show to stick around. This is $70 million dollar increase for the show’s first deal on Netflix.
Just like Ross and Rachel, it is still up in the air how long ‘Friends’ will stay together.
There is speculation that ‘Friends’ along several other TV and Movie properties will be utilized by AT&T as they own Warner Media, which will soon launch it’s own tiered-streaming subscription service. On top of that video shakeup, Disney is rolling out it’s long-planned ‘Disney+’ which will featured a new Star Wars dramatic series with on-demand access to their massive catalog which includes a lot of Marvel related content.
Stephen Colbert riffed on the Cafe Perk crowd being rediscovered and several other things that people are overreacting about.
Well, kinda. Maybe this isn’t a new Postal Service song but does bring Jimmy Tamborello and Ben Gibbard together again. Jimmy has done a remix of Death Cab’s “Summer Years”… and it scratches that itch. -wALT
What happens next is both predictable and utterly insane. When I mean insane, I mean, IN- SAAAANE. Thanks to Craig Saucier for answering a question NO ONE ever asked: What happens when you shoot a gasoline-soaked parachute with a flare gun?
Craig submitted his video for a GoPro Award. Don’t try this one at home. AWESOME and CRAAAAAAZY!

One of my favorite causes, KT’s Kids, is having its 15th annual holiday party at Liar’s Club this Sunday!
The evening will have music, burlesque and a raffle with some great prizes donated by our sponsors and others. The show lineup will feature The Nefarious Fat Cats, featuring Jake Burns (Stiff Little Fingers), Scott Lucas (Local H), John and Joey Haggerty (Pegboy), KTS Kids founder Herb Rosen and more, Bailey Dee and her Late Night Bait and some surprise guest stars to be announced. Burlesque interludes will feature Angela Eve and Eve’s Parlor.
“100% of funds raised at our benefit go directly to support the children of Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital’s KidsRehab program. On December 12th we will have our holiday party at the hospital, where we provide gifts to over 300 children! We invite all children that are seen in our hospital’s outpatient clinics and all other children in the household. Every child gets two gifts (one fun, one practical) and Mom gets a $20 gift card to Target.” More info HERE.
If you are not able to attend the benefit, but would like to provide a present to a child, please go to our Amazon wish list to have a gift sent directly to the hospital.
You can also make a secure donation through paypal HERE.
Here is a clip from last year’s event:
Forbes magazine released their annual list of the highest-paid YouTube stars … and at the top is a seven-year-old kid who made $22 million this year reviewing toys. SEVEN YEARS OLD! Isn’t there some Child Labor Law that can stop this mess? (Wink Wink)

If you have never seen the movie …HOW DARE YOU ! There’s a famous scene in “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” where Clark Griswold is putting up Christmas decorations, he slips on some ice on the roof, and winds up hanging from the gutter.
The Heerlein family in Austin, Texas decided to recreate that scene for their Christmas decorations this year. And you can probably see where this is going. Fast forward a day or two … a neighbor see the dummy and calls 911!
He also tried to save the dummy and yelled for help. Fortunately, everything got smoothed over quickly once the cops got there . . . and the Heerleins even gave the guy a gift card. Really? … I would have given the guy a “YOU’RE AN IDIOT” card.

‘Saturday Night Live’ comedian Pete Davidson had a very public breakup with a popular singer who has fans that some how think being a fan means you get to self-riotously harass someone online with some fictional authority. This is a growing issue as we go into the murky deeper digital waters of social media merging with fandom for music and art we are passionate for. The negative side of ‘stan culture’ has got to stop there is no reasonable moral defense of this, considering no one is deserving knowing why two famous people stopped dating. The faceless ‘fan accounts’ with avatar of the artist they support out spreading this emotional venom has been tolerated too long.
Maybe it’s corny to say this, but I ‘stan’ for stopping negative things like this.
Davidson is dealing with this in a very classy and considerate way for people who have dealt with similar mental health challenges. Those same health problems are something we in the alternative music have seen expressed in song and endured by those that both make the music and those that enjoy it. So it’s important to listen to this with empathy and support.
He even joked about the breakup in very grand fashion.
Pete Davidson has made millions laugh on SNL, Here are some of his funniest performances on SNL.
Pete on turning 21.
The 1975 released their new album on Friday call A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships. Early reviews have been positive with comparisons to Radiohead’s OK Computer for the millennial generation! Wow!
Now we get this 7 minute video for “It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You)” which is kinda like a crazy dream. Definitely worth checking out! -wALT
