Let’s face it, not a single one of us wants to be sick. While our bodies fight off whatever ails us, we just aren’t — ourselves. But the bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers is apparently feeling much better after battling off a self-reported case of the flu. MUCH much better, as you can see below in a Instagram post he shared with us.
New record from the band is due in 2019. Maybe Flea can do some choreography on a music video? — [eric]

They have sold millions of album, played to hundreds of thousands people, and certainly could be called the biggest band in the world. All those accolades earned from the pulse pounding drums of Dominic Howard, the wave-rolling bass of Chris Wolstenholme, and the rebel rousing power of singer/guitarist Matt Belamy known to us mere mortals as MUSE. This praise has not been earned with any overstated approach. This band’s ability to inject so many varieties of energies from epic highs to lumbering lows is almost unparalleled in modern alternative music. So with nearly 25 years evolving from “that band in the UK we heard about” to a rightful Lollapalooza headliner, 101WKQX is humbly pleased to bring you the top MUSE songs !
Let’s geek out, freak out, and likely argue over what are the best Muse songs. With some influence from listeners like you texting into 312101 and asking around the halls of 101WKQX, my Muse-loving mind culled together this top 20 never-to-be-challenged list that counts down the trio’s top tracks. Did your favorite rank high or low? Is there a song that is not listed that made you yell at the screen? Let us know on Twitter or Facebook.

Soulja Boy who came to fame with the hit song ‘Crank That’ in 2007, is putting out a video game console that has “build in 3000 games”. Stephen Colbert roasted the console on ‘Late Night’ this week. Based on several reports the console is believed to be an emulator for old games from past consoles like Sega Genesis and Nintendo Gameboy. A similar system is sold online in foreign countries, and has been called a flea market game console. It’s not clear whether or not the games have been legally acquired for the ‘SouljaGame’ consoles with a mobile version and one that looks just like XBOX One.
The rapper is aware of the criticism and addressed it this week in an interview with Rolling Stone. “I know it’s new to the industry. I know they’re scratching their heads and there’s going to be a lot of talk, but hey man, I’m just a person with a dream. I know that I’ve been introduced to the world as a rapper, dancer, producer, but don’t just limit me to that and think outside the box and really give me a shot with this.” said the rapper whose real name is Deandre Cortez Way.
IGN News covered the ‘SOULJAGAME’ scandal, and why it is believed to be a knockoff of a knockoff.
Secret Santa is tough, because there’s usually a spending limit of like 20 or 30 bucks. So a new survey looked into what people actually WANT to get.
And the answer is . . . ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES like our Q Street beer! Alcohol was the #1 thing people said they want from their Secret Santa. Here are the top ten . . .
1. Alcohol. (Q STREET BEER)
2. Chocolate.
3. A gift card.
4. A book.
5. Candles.
6. Money. So just stuff $25 in an envelope and be done with it.
7. Candy. So chocolate and other types of candy BOTH made the list.
8. Socks. WHAT?
9. Perfume or cologne. For 20 or 30 bucks though, it might smell like feet.
10. Bubble bath.
So do whats right for Secret Santa this year and look like a STAR by giving Q STREET! … Its a fact!
Youtube channel Jubilee has been doing something very interesting in a series called ’30 vs 1: Dating Apps in Real Life’. It takes the instantaneous judging of dating apps and applies to an arranged face to face interaction where for some reason no one can wear shoes.

The trailer for the fourth Avengers movie is finally out… and it’s dark.
The Satanic Temple-Chicago was given permission to place a statue in the Illinois statehouse, alongside a Christmas tree, Nativity scene and menorah. For more on the “Snaketivity,” here’s the report from WGN-TV:
And here’s the Temple’s Instagram post:
Just in time for finals at Ohio State, the Ohio Pork Council installed a vending machine that dispenses cooked bacon. It’s a long-overdue idea made into porky reality.
“Black Panther” made history by becoming the first superhero movie to get a nomination in the Golden Globes’ Best Picture-Drama category. The movie’s also nominated for Original Score and Original Song.
The Globes will be held in L.A. on January 6.
Two dozen Amazon employees were hospitalized after an accidental bear mace discharge at one of their New Jersey warehouses yesterday.
According to ABC News, an “automated machine accidentally punctured a 9-ounce bear repellent can, releasing concentrated Capsaican.” And let me tell you, that stuff BURNS.
The good news: all the workers were released from the hospital within 24 hours. The bad news? The machines appear to be rising up, just like Sara Connor warned us would happen. 😉 — [eric]

Loudwire is reporting that Blink-182 will make good on their cancellation last year and return next year to be one of the headliners at Riot Fest 2018.
NOW…important to note that both the Riot Fest website and Twitter account have not made mention of this…officially (Yup, they casually mentioned in the cancellation notice last year they would return). But “being official” is a phrase that, IMHO, doesn’t exactly associate with Riot Fest. Their bohemian style is just one of the reasons I look forward to fall in Douglas Park every fall. And frankly, this news report makes it more concrete for me that we will be able to see them after all.
FYI…some early bird tickets are still available for $115 for as long as they last. And it’s something I would jump on, regardless of whether or not Blink….(One Eighty Two, One Eight Two, Eighteen Two?) was in the fold. — [eric]
