Is there something in the air in January that causes couples to divorce?
Well, maybe not but the stress from the holidays and New Year resolutions can put a heavy strain on relationships.
Divorce Day is a day that happens after Christmas and New Year’s where divorce layers see a surge in inquiries coming in.
It’s how couples avoid the messy divorce over the holidays.
Luckily not all of those that inquire go through with it, as the month goes on less and less inquires happen.
Love isn’t that dead.. yet.

Sad day in Chicago as the Bears’ season came to an end after Cody Parkey’s 43-yard FG hit off the bar twice and fell back onto the field of play.
Everyone reacted differently, but Bear’s mascot Stanley Da Bear sums up how everyone felt about the loss:

My 1967 Cadillac Eldorado is hitting @Sothebys https://t.co/WB2SYRvNVZ
— Travis Barker (@travisbarker) January 3, 2019
This 1967 Cadillac Eldorado is pretty custom: shaved door handles, shaved door handles, an intricate custom ‘fade’ paint job, a custom upholstered interior and much, much more. If you want it, though, it’s gonna cost you at auction: $80-100K, for a vehicle that has been on display in an auto museum.
Travis is well known for his love of Cadillacs…after the band made it big, he started collecting. In other news, I collect gas station receipts….if anyone wants to bid on those, hit me up. — [e.k.]

Alkaline Trio meet and greet photos from The Lounge!
Chicago boys done good, the pride of Zion, LOCAL H are set to play halftime at Soldier Field today during the Chicago Bears NFC playoff game against the Eagles. The band confirmed the big gig in several posts on their Twitter.
Considering the long standing friendship 101WKQX has had with Scott , Ryan, and company plus the fact that we bleed Chicago blue, this is right up our alley.
This is gonna be one helluva a haftime show at the bears game on Sunday! Woohoo @LocalH pic.twitter.com/kR2KlkhHlx

In the 1991 season, the Bears had a strong 11-5 record with Mike Topmczak filling in for Jim Harbaugh in the quarterback position while the team headed into the playoffs. Chicago-based actor Joe Mantegna and the SNL cast struck the perfect timing in January of that year with “Bill Swerski’s Superfans’. The sketch spoofed working class blowhard fans on local sports radio spouting off irrational observations and blind devotion to all things Ditka while also roasting our local indulgence in cured meats.
It was an instant hit and produced a series of sketches featuring ‘Cheers’ star George Wendt (who was never an SNL cast member) running a panel of oafish but lovable fans who oozed love for ‘DA BEARS’. It’s one of the most well-known pieces of comedy to satirize our city. It showed the unfiltered ChiKAAAAgo accent to the world. When I have traveled to other parts of the country doing comedy shows, people would ask me if anyone here actually talks like that. It made a lasting impression that goes much farther than Cook County. Below are some of best ‘Superfan’ sketches that featured some of SNL’s best all-time performers in Mike Meyers and Chris Farley.
It’s worth noting that comedy writer Robert Smigel was the real creative force and regularly appeared in the sketches himself. Here is a look at their 2010 reunion at the Just For Laughs Festival where they reveal a bit about the never-made Superfan movie.
In 1993, oh excuse me…199tree, the guys bemoaned Coach Ditka leaving Chicago.

This was one of the best. Michael Jordan joining the Superfans to celebrate DA BULLS most recent NBA Championship.

Here the fellas give New York Knicks fans tips on how to deal with their upcoming defeat at the hands of DA BULLS.
In this gem, Swerski and the guys get ridiculous when they claim what the Monsters of the Midway would do if they all raced the Indy 500.
They even got to be in local TV commercials for Bulls tickets in the early 90s as well.
Still don’t know when we will see Season 4 (probably late 2019). But this short Rick And Morty may have revealed a major plot point for the next installment of the Adult Swim show. Namely — the very last image:

Remember, Evil Morty is also….President Morty. Nerdist (via A/V Club) explains what people are so stirred up about:
This video introduces you to the man behind the voice of the CTA. Lee Crooks has been the the voice of the buses and trains we ride through Chicago since 1997, and he understands how weird it is to hear his own voice when he’s on the red line. Crooks in the video above from Youtube channel Rhysvid documents his process in the studio and how he sometimes goofs around with the less formal local aaaaacents to say street names.
Block Club Chicago took Crooks’s familiar tone and had him read dramatic memorable quotes from movies and books while riding around the city.
Bears wide receiver Anthony Miller suffered a nasty shoulder in the final regular season game, with his dislocated shoulder being reset on the sideline. It was revealed this week on the team web show ‘Monsters of the Midway’ that the rookie stand out has endured two previous shoulder injuries, but is somehow still practicing this week as the Bears prepare for their playoff game with the Eagles tomorrow at Soldier Field. THREE TIMES!
“Shoulder came all the way out. I had to pop it back in” said Miller of his most recent situation in the game against the Vikings.
Man, you got to be tough to deal with that at this level. I fall on floor when I get a stubbed toe.
Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan has confirmed that their long-awaited album is now in the final mixing stage.

The first Woodstock was a watershed event. And now, five decades later, the historic site (Bethel, New York) is ready to host an anniversary event with rumored headliners Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters.
The dates are locked: August 16-19. Other rumored bands include The Who, Bon Jovi and Phish.
There’s not much to see on the website yet, but that should change soon enough.

If you’re looking to make sure you get a reply back from an email, consider using these greetings.
In 2017, a data scientist analyzed more than 300,000 archived public messages to figure out which received the most responses. Using “Hey” ranked first, with a 64 percent response rate. “Hello” got a 63.6 percent response rate and “Hello.” “Hi” was right behind it at 62.7 percent. If you feel the need to go a little more formal, you should know that the results weren’t as favorable. “Greetings” yielded a 57.2 response rate, while “Dear” had a 56.5 percent chance of hearing back.
Look up at the sky… you might see something spectacular this evening.
The Quandrantid meteor shower happens tonight. With no moon in the sky, you’ll stand a good chance to see up to 120 meteors per hour between midnight and dawn. Wanna watch? His cut-through-noise voice, biting humor, and storyline stewardship helped bring the biggest pro wrestling characters out of their musclebound shells and into may fan’s hearts. ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund passed away this week at the age of 76 according to a statement by WWE. Okerlund got his wrestling hosting career started in the Midwest with the American Wrestling Association, before leaving for the WWE in 1984.
During his first run with WWE, the company exploded as an international sensation with Okerlund on-camera wrangling the larger-than-life personas of Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savages and many more. Okerlund continued to be a player on-camera for WCW before returning home to WWE in 2001. Hogan would induct Okerlund in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004.
Here are some of Okerlund’s best performances including this gem with the Nature Boy Ric Flair where he hilariously snaps at someone to put out a cigarette off-camera.
Okerlund’s on-screen appearances lessened as the years went on, but his last cameo in WWE was memorable with AJ Styles.
It’s one of the more time-consuming video games of all time, and it’s grown to the point where someone can train you to get better at it. Recently Vice News digged deep into the growing trend of tutors on ‘Fortnite’, the online battle royale game that has huge viewership beyond just the many gamers who are actively playing the game. Yep, just like a personal trainer helps you get in the shape, this guy can help get good at a game.
The story continues to go in a weird direction with ‘boosters’ who are paid to logged into other’s accounts, increase their in-game rankings with their expertise. It’s someone’s full time job to play video games for someone else!?
