Somebody has WAYYYYY too much disposable income on their hands.
A rare Michael Jordan basketball card was sold for over $350,000, setting a new record on eBay. More details on this story from NBC Sports Chicago — including why the new owner may have paid three times as much as he should have.

Lockdown Bar & Grill is closing after almost 10 years of slinging magnificent burgers on Western Avenue. Eater broke the story, saying owner PJ Zonis was unsuccessful in his attempts to sell the business.

We don’t mean to spoil the beloved movie, Jurassic Park, but this news is fascinating… and slightly disturbing. The sounds you hear when the velociraptors communicate together are actually mating tortoises.
Sound designer Gary Rydstrom received two Academy Awards for his work on Jurassic Park, one for Best Sound and the other for Best Sound Effects Editing.
He told Vulture the truth behind the voice of the Raptors:
It’s somewhat embarrassing, but when the raptors bark at each other to communicate, it’s a tortoise having sex. It’s a mating tortoise!
I recorded that at Marine World… the people there said, ‘Would you like to record these two tortoises that are mating?’ It sounded like a joke, because tortoises mating can take a long time. You’ve got to have plenty of time to sit around and watch and record them.
But tortoises weren’t the only animals used to create the sound of the velociraptors.
The breathing noise the raptors make is actually a horse, while the hiss comes from a goose.
Birds make pretty raspy sounds, but geese are famous for being the nastiest. You’ve got to get a goose mad and then they hiss at you, and it doesn’t take much to get a goose mad because they seem to get mad at everything. All you have to do is get close to one and stick a mic near its beak and you’ll get that hiss, and that’s the hiss that Muldoon [the game warden] hears before he dies.
We hope the movie isn’t ruined for you, but use this as a fun fact of the day!
Nicolo has told her “Stop mum.” on recent posts. Even joked about her duckface photos that she seems to do quite often saying, “What are you doing with your mouth like that? You’re 40!”
It can’t be that embarrassing, what have your parents done that’s embarrassed you?

“We have too much debt and Montana is useless. Just tell them it has beavers or something.”
Basically he believes, along with those who signed, that if we sold Montana to Canada we’ve be able to pay off the nations debt.
It does raise some questions as to whether the state would still be referred to as Montana or be dubbed Southern Alberta.
Supporters even commented in on how they felt about it. Some weren’t into Montana being sold saying, “I grew up in Montana. There is no way you can take away my home. My family, my history and my peace can not be sold.”
Others talked about how good of an idea it would be, “I live in Montana and I think it’s a wonderful idea. Should throw in Wyoming as well.” or “I’m Montanan and hoping to join Canada without the moving costs. Let’s do this. Please adopt us.”
Even Canadians are throwing in their support, “I’m Canadian and making Canada bigger is cool.”
Their goal is to get 15,000 signatures and so far they are closing it on them.
In the rich but odd tradition of making our pets into musical memes, today the web got behind this trending clip of a cat’s annoying morning meows ran through the make-you-sing-even-thou-you-can-not soundeffect known as autotune. Yes, we usually hear this effect layered on annoying pop songs, but there is something weirdly satisfying about seeing this nagging cat getting the Kanye West treatment.
While we are goofing on cats, here are some feline funny related bits for you to enjoy:
An unopened copy of Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was sold at auction this month — for more than $100,000.
Apparently they treat these things like rare sports cards — sealed in plastic, and given a rating of 9.4 by a collectibles grading site, the new owner may not have it long. According to this story from CNET, he might turn around and flip it soon.
I have one of those Duck Hunt guns with my name in red marker and used bubble gum stuck to the bottom of it somewhere in my basement. Do I hear $50? Anyone? Anyone? — [eric]
Did you know when pufferfish puff up they release toxins? Which tends to effect Doplins differently.
Pufferfish release a toxin when they puff out that is meant to impair the attacker. This doesn’t work on Dolphins in the same way. It gets them high. So they purposely inflate them and pass them around to their dolphin friends for fun. https://t.co/h1U59K9ksnpic.twitter.com/zd1uGQigJC
It’s Girl Scout cookie season again, and what better way to sell some cookies than by putting a photo of Jason Momoa on the box.
Clever girl, Charlotte Holmberg, from Colorado is using Momoa’s picture to move boxes of Samoas – and it’s working!
Charlotte had help from her mother, who works in marketing, and got the idea from the internet. The two then created the box art by printing out photos of Momoa and affixing them to the cookies, which have been renamed “Momoas” as part of the promotional efforts.
