Peanut butter whiskey? Dave Grohl says he’s on board.

Dave Grohl loves peanut butter whiskey.  And he’s happy to tell you this fact.

While playing San Diego earlier this week, a local distillery received a ringing endorsement from the Foo Fighters’ front man for their odd sounding beverage.  A local TV station confirmed Dave has no endorsement deal with Skrewball — he just happens to be a surprise fan.  And if he’s in, well —  before you know it, the combination of that delicious warming liquid and creamy savory spread will end up going together like — peanut butter and whiskey.  — [eric]

Watch crowd-raging Tom Morello w/ Tim McIlrath of Rise Against at PIQNIQ

The pride of Libertyville. From Rage Against to the Machine to Audioslace, Tom Morello has been a pure unfiltered true musical bad ass which was on prime display yesterday at 101WKQX’s PIQNIQ at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater.

Some lucky contest winners got to have a select whiskey tasting with the Nightwatchman himself. “Sweet Home Chicago” indeed!

Thank you #PIQNIQ, thank you @tommorello, til next year xo. <3 @thelaurenoneil

Posted by 101 WKQX on Saturday, June 15, 2019

We got very curious when this tweet hit us earlier in the day.

Morello’s set started in the crowd to the surprise of many, but his surprises were not done yet. Another great son of Chicago alternative joined him for his set, Tim McIlrath of Rise Against joined Morello and his band for a rousing Audioslave performance as well a rendition of their collaboration for Morello’s ‘Atlas Underground’ track ‘How Long’ and the moving classic ‘the Ghost of old Tom Joad’. Yeah, it was a special thrill to see them perform together.

Then a crowd of fans (including this dorky DJ writing this) were lucky to thrase and dance on stage with Morello to close out his outstanding set.

Oh…HEY TIM MCILRATH! 👋 You'll never know who will show up to #PIQNIQ! Rise Against Tom Morello – Kevin

Posted by 101 WKQX on Saturday, June 15, 2019

Also Morello said don’t put a cell phone in my face or “I’ll smack it” and he did.

Thank you to Tom Morello, his incredible band, his on-point crew, and the beloved Tim McIlrath of Rise Against for making these special memories for us yesterday.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

Station reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Station reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Station’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
  5. Limitations of Liability. The Released Parties are not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Station, entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (2) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Contest; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; or (5) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt or use, non-use or misuse of any prize. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrant and Station in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the state in which the Station is located, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the state in which the Station is located or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the state in which the Station is located.

Cage the Elephant guitarist suffers serious leg injury

Cage the Elephant guitarist Nick Bockrath suffered a pretty gnarly leg injury on stage in Europe, and it is forcing the band to cancel some shows.

According to Consequence of Sound, Bockrath got hurt at Netherland’s Pinkpop festival. Bockrath is enduring a ruptured PCL, a torn ACL, a weakened meniscus, and a broken tibia. The injury forced the band to cancel shows on their summer run of Europe.

Cage the Elephant is touring behind their latest fantastic album ‘Social Cues’. They are currently still scheduled to play the Hunnington Bank Pavillion next month on Chicago’s lakefront. You can enter to win tickets for that show in our Contest section.

Mom confronts her son’s bullies, then gets arrested

Moms will do anything to protect their sweet little baby, even if that means screaming at an innocent class of third graders.

This South Carolina mom wanted to make it clear, she doesn’t care what age you are. If you come at her sweet baby angel about his “silly haircut,” then you’re gonna have to face her mom rage in full force.

When Jamie Rathburn found out that some kids in her kid’s third-grade class were teasing him she decided that she would show up and enter his elementary school without permission and yell at an entire class of eight-year-olds.

Before going off to the elementary school this very classy mom posted a video on Facebook to let everyone know that she was off to go give some children a piece of her mind. A concerned citizen called the police who promptly made their way to the school to arrest Rathburn.

Rathburn insists that her son was continually bullied by some of the other students throughout the school year including physical harm to her child. She also claims that the school refused to do anything about the bullying even though she continually reported the issues. So she decided to take matters into her own hand and illegally enter an elementary school.

A mom’s gotta do what moms gotta do.

Blink-182’s Travis Barker is teaming up with “Old Town Road” rapper Lil Nas X

Travis Barker is looking to add to his list of collaborations with rappers, and it seems like Lil Nas X shall be added to his roster.

Lil Nas X has become a viral sensation over his remix of “Old Town Road”.

In an interview with Spin Barker said,

“I have a song with Lil Nas X that’s going to be on his EP. He came to the studio and I played a couple beats that I thought would be stuff he was into, then I played something on accident where he stopped and was like, “What is that? I’ve got to have that.” It was actually an idea I had for the Blink album.”

Lil Nas X even posted this tweet in May so we should have known something was going on.

Are you guys excited to see what they have for us?
