6PM CST(Monday, March 23rd): Beck has been the do-whatever-he-wants wizard of alternative for decades now. His genre-bending blend of folk, hip hop, rock, and personality has never relenting in testing boundries but also giving us songs to shot into the roof of our cars. This session proved to be quite fun as Mr. Hanson embraced the imganiary idea that his band was playing on a cruise ship for whatever reason and he blended three of biggest songs into clap-a-long medley.

Man with dirty name says 2020 Olympics expected be postponed

The world is going through the Coronavirus pandemic changing all of our lives, and this news comes as no surprise that the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo will be postponed according to a report today by USA Today.

“On the basis of the information the IOC has, postponement has been decided,” International Olympic Committee member Dick Pound said in a phone interview. “The parameters going forward have not been determined, but the Games are not going to start on July 24, that much I know.”

WAIT, THAT IS HIS REAL NAME?

in the last few days, the IOC noted they will look into how to operate this Summer’s event over the course of the next few weeks, stating they would not cancel the games. Canada and Australia have both stated they would not send their athletes if the game proceeded with the original schedule due to concerns over the COVID-19 outbreak.

Here is a look at the billions that have been poured into spectacular new venues in Japan for the massive event.

It looks like we will be playing Olympic games with Sonic before we actual human beings chase for the medals.

Foo Fighters fight ghosts recording their new album

In a recent interview with NME, Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters talked about the spooky issues the band dealt with while recording their followup to 2017’s ‘Concrete & Gold’. The studio in a house where the band was recording had some issues the band simply couldin’t explain, they had to set up nest cameras, and Grohl can’t even tell the whole story for legal reasons.

“When we walked into the house in Encino, I knew the vibes were definitely off but the sound was fucking on,” said Grohl. “We started working there and it wasn’t long before things started happening. We would come back to the studio the next day and all of the guitars would be detuned.

“Or the setting we’d put on the board, all of them had gone back to zero.We would open up a Pro Tools session and tracks would be missing. There were some tracks that were put on there that we didn’t put on there. But just like weird open mic noises. Nobody playing an instrument or anything like that, just an open mic recording a room.”

“And we’d F***ing zero in on sounds within that. And we didn’t hear any voices or anything really decipherable. But something was happening.”

“It got to the point where I brought one of those nest cams that I still have at home, for when my kids would sleep in their cribs,” he added in the interview with Mojo. “I set it up overnight so we could see if there was anyone there or anyone was coming to f*** with us.”

Let’s just hope we get the whole ghost story in the future. Grohl and the gang had to postpone the first wave of 25th anniversary tour due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

So…What is still open?

I think we can all agree that the best thing to do right now is to hang out at home and stay healthy.

But, there are some places still open right, like we can still get food and supplies right!

The answer is YES! Do not freak out there are still plenty of places still open for business in Chicago and IL as a whole.

You can still go to the grocery store and the pharmacy, or anywhere that is classified as an essential business.

So don’t worry, you don’t need to buy 13 gallons of hand soap or 2 tons of toilet paper. Restaurants are still even open for delivery and pickup!!

Everything is going to be ok!

Stay happy and healthy everyone! Enjoy your home!!

Chet Hanks must get his rapping Genes from Rita Wilson

Remember when we all realized how weird Tom Hank’s and Rita Wilson’s kid Chet was.

How could this kid that has so much potential with the gene pool given to him by his parents choose to become a rapper (the title is used lightly here)?

Well, the answer has finally shown itself.

Rita Wilson finally shared her little secret while going stir crazy inside quarantine on Sunday.

Seriously though, not bad Rita. Who knew!

Walking the dog with a drone is the ultimate #stayathome move

The great news is that COVID-19 has been reported to not affect dogs the same way it affects humans.

So dogs are free to go out and about!  It’s a dog’s world now.

This owner did not want to break his quarantine for any reason, so when the dog needed to go out he rigged together a super interesting dog walking system.

What a good boy!! And good drone!

Conan O’Brien’s toilet paper life hack

With all of the late night comedy shows on hiatus due to the coronavirus, natioanl treasure Conan O’Brien has been posting joyfully funny content on YouTube while we are all in social distant solitude on the web. This one is a doozy as he lays how you can ‘life hack’ the toilet paper shortages with….those ridiculously long CVS receipts. Those receipts are longer than some romantic relationships I have been in.

God bless Yungblud. The brash playful English rock dude took over a studio with a mixed of silly talk show, live music performance, and fun like having fellow alt weirdo Oliver Tree do a cooking segment. If we are all locked in, we need more irreverent fun like this where everyone cuts loose and tries something unique like this.

Parking tickets and debt collection to stop in Chicago

Good news if you are like me with a couple two, tree tickets looming overhead at the moment.

(speaking of, I am still wondering if you can even get two tickets for the same thing in less than 24 hours…)

From Block Club Chi:

“all booting will stop, late fees on defaulted payments on city debts will be paused and no interest will be accrued. The city will also limit ticketing, towing and impounding and focus its efforts on public safety-related issues.

As part of the program, city utility bills will not be due until May 1.

“One of the most important things we can do is keep people economically solvent,” Lightfoot said.

The city will work with the private company that owns Chicago’s meters to ensure ticketing only occurs if there’s something that poses a safety threat. An expired meter at a car that is otherwise legally parked will not result in a ticket, Lightfoot said.

But people won’t be able to leave their cars on the street, Lightfoot said: That will still result in them being declared abandoned and towed.

Bills will come due eventually, Lightfoot said, though the program could be extended past April 30 if needed.”

Beautiful video of neighbors in Roscoe Village singing together

This is awesome! After seeing all of these videos of people singing in Italy, it’s nice to finally see some Chicagoans come together!

These neighbors in Roscoe Village decided to sing together, practicing social distancing of course, and it turned out amazing!

Sweet Home Chicago.
