The IL State government has been buying medical supplies from all over the world to try and keep up the demand needed by health care workers during this pandemic.
One of the items needed are medical grade Face Masks. So the Illinois purchased KN-95 masks from China, which were cleared by the CDC as an acceptable alternative to the American made N-95 masks.
Welp, turns out… they don’t work.
YIKES! That is a lot of wasted money.
Hope the government kept their receipt.
This mom needed a face mask in a pinch when the CDC sent out their recommendation that everybody start wearing a face mask.
Her kids needed chicken nuggets from the store! And nothing will get in the way of a mom and her kids chickie nuggies!
So she grabbed the closest thing she could find that would work, so what!!!
It works surprisingly well!
This isn’t weird, this is genius!

But when this paper mill exploding should liven things up a little.

Luckily no one was hurt, and there were few employees inside the mill during the explosion due to coronavirus.
But dang, that is a cool looking explosion.

John Krasinski has been trying to spread some joy during this Pandemic by recording a weekly Youtube show called Some Good News (SGN) from his home.
This week Krasinski focused on health care workers, giving them a thank you that they all rightfully deserve with the help of Big Papi himself.

2020 has been one huge struggle so far, so if we just make a rewind of everything that happened 8 months early then we can just get on with the next year right?

Instead of Bulls and Blackhawks games, the United Center is now home to nearly 400 tons of non perishable food now.
The United Center teamed up with the Greater Chicago Food Depository to help them store food inside the stadium allowing workers for the Greater Chicago Food Depository practice social distancing while still being able to feed those who need it.

Having a birthday in quarantine sucks, but these workers made it special for this kid.
Sawyer is turning 7, and his absolute favorite thing to do is watch the construction workers who are building a high rise building next door work each day. So when the construction company heard this, they decided that they were going to make this kids quarantine birthday as amazing as it could be.
This is awesome!
The bright side of this pandemic is that it is bringing us all together a little bit.
