‘Hamilton’ movie skipping theaters for Disney+

The smash-hit hip-hop musical ‘Hamilton’ which raked in millions at live theaters, is skipping it’s anticipated release in movie theaters for a summer release on the popular streaming service. Disney+. The anticipated movie adaption which will feature notable historical figures from the formative years of the U.S.A will drop on the fitting date of July 3rd.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, who created and starred in the musical joined Disney mega-boss Bob Iger to announced the news today on ‘Good Morning America’ which has been met with some very positive reactions to fans of musical theater online.

This means the movie will come out over a year before it’s originally scheduled release of October 15. 2021. It’s another sign of Hollywood studios trying to redirect their resources in these COVID-19 times as thousands of cinemas around shuttered around the world.

Miranda sold the transition of the musical to film as giving viewers “the best seat in the house” and that it features the original cast from  performances on stage in June of 2016.

Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo covers Nirvana on piano

The music world is seeing many covers popping up online and this one is quite the treat: Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo covered Nirvana’s moody classic “Heart Shaped Box”. Using his swooning tone Rivers covered the song during a recent live stream with just piano. It’s quite the rendition to say the least.

Weezer appeared on ‘the Simpsons’ this past Sunday where they premiered a new song Blue Dream’ off their delayed upcoming album ‘Van Weezer’. You may heard the song ‘End of the Game’ from that album on 101WKQX.. See what the band looked like on the Simpsons here. ‘

It looks like we are going to have a baseball season after all.

MLB team owners have met and discussed a possible season start in early July.

Is this for real!?!?!?! Will we actually get some baseball???

I sure hope so, I would watch pro bowling at this point!!

Did Kristin Cavallari post a mother’s day tribute to herself on Jay Cutler’s Instagram??

The soon to be divorced couple have been in the headlines a lot recently, this time something seems a little funny.

It looks like the former Bears Quarterback posted a touching instagram tribute to the mother of his 3 children, and soon to be ex-wife Kristen Cavallari and she responded with a simple heart, which seems normal… But there may be more here.

Happy Mother’s day to all the moms. These 3 little ones picked a good one.

A post shared by Jay Cutler (@ifjayhadinstagram) on

Kristin Cavallari and her team created an Instagram account for Jay Cutler because he didn’t have one. They originally made all the posts… so did she make this one to herself?????

That would be amazingly funny, but reports from the former couple say no. Jay has full control of the account now and actual made that post himself.

They may not want to be married to each other anymore, but they are still parents together!!

The Lakefront and 606 may be closed, but there are lots of other parks open!

Saturday was one of those perfect Chicago weather days and I took advantage by driving up the Lake Michigan Circle Tour all the way to Zion and got in some hiking at the Illinois State Beach.  The Lakefront and 606 may be closed, but there are still lots of parks and resources open where you and your family can go hiking, fishing, boating (with no more than 2 people in the boat) even picnicking while practicing safe social distancing.  Stay safe and get outside!  <3 Lauren

Top 3/Bottom 3: Episodes 7 and 8 of The Last Dance

Episodes 6 and 7 of The Last Dance aired last night, and we are loving every single minute of it.  I mean, if we have to be stuck inside forever, what better way to pass the time than by watching MJ and Pippen dunk all over Patrick Ewing amirite?  Here are the top 3 moments we loved from last night, and 3 that we didn’t.

TOP 3

“Way to go, Craig.”  Episode 7 was incredibly quotable, but we got our best one just a few seconds in to the episode.  After being asked a question Jerry Krause clearly didn’t want to answer, causing him to storm out of a press conference that had barely started, someone chimed in with a “Nice one, Craig” towards whoever asked the question.  This needs to become our next go to insult when we need to drag a coworker for not muting their mic on a Zoom chat.

“Is there an echo?”  “Guys Im getting feedback” “Oh sorry, thats me. Forgot to mute.”  “WAY TO GO, CRAIG.”

“I’m Back”  -Michael Jordan, upon announcing his return to the NBA.  Coincidentally, also me, when the dining room at the Olive Garden opens back up.

Steve Kerr has no fear.  Even before the Last Dance, the story of Steve Kerr getting punched in the face by Michael Jordan was widely known, but for the first time we got to hear the details of the story from both players involved.  Turns out that Steve Kerr didn’t just take a punch to the face and keep going, he punched back!  Dude has 8 NBA championships as a coach and player and his greatest accomplishment is that he went blow for blow with Michael Jordan.  I bet he would even agree with that.

BOTTOM 3

THE DUNK.  People forget how close the Bulls got to going to the NBA finals the year MJ went to play baseball.  What people should never forget, is the greatest dunk in NBA history.  The amount of disrespect Pippen delivers to Patrick Ewing (and then Spike Lee) is off the charts.  Seriously, look at this.  And then watch it again and again and again.  They should’ve devoted at least 30 minutes on this dunk, and how Scottie Pippen should’ve been the MVP that year.  In fact, as a Pippen guy, I’m a little upset with how tertiary his story has been this entire series.  Give this man the spotlight he deserves, dammit!

RIP James Jordan.  James Jordan’s murder was such a tragedy.  What made it worse was that some members of the media wrote articles questioning if Michael Jordan’s gambling issues had anything to do with it, despite absolutely no evidence indicating that.  Imagine how awful that must be, to not only lose a family member, but to be blamed for it as well?  Gross.

Michael Jordan, ruining people.  The only thing more disrespectful than the Pippen dunk in these episodes, was Michael Jordan calling Scott Burrell a HO multiple times.  OUTRAGEOUS.  Also, Toni Kukoc has never recovered from the abuse he took from Jordan and Pippen, you can hear it in his voice every time he speaks. Poor Toni. Someone send him a fruit basket.

Did this ‘Sex In the City’ star want to bang Mario???

There are a lot of questionable ads out there… this one definitely ranks high on any list.

Who was Kim Cattrall trying to sell this to? Who is the demographic here???

There are so many questions…

First, “The Goonies.” Now cast of “Back To The Future” will reunite.

First, we got to see The Goonies.  Now we get to go back in time with another eighties cinema classic.

Josh Gad’s web series Reunited Apart will reunite the cast of Back To The Future this week.  And as you can see in his Instagram teaser, the two primary members — Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd — will definitely be there.  Tune in Monday morning and you will see some serious s#@t. (Or, just some great memories shared of one of my favorite childhood movies) — [eric]

Weezer on this weekend’s Simpsons

Their latest album ‘Van Weezer’ may be delayed but beloved alt icon Weezer will get animated this Sunday on the latest episode of ‘the Simpsons’. The episode called “the Hateful Eight-year olds” will feature the Weez portraying a cover band on a romantic cruise that Homer and Marge are taking. According to Consequence of Sound, Weezer will be featured with 3 songs including a never-before-heard track “Blue Dream”.

Several alternative bands have appeared on the long-running animated TV institution including an entire episode that spoofed the Lollapalooza tour with Homer joining the tour as ‘freakshow’ performing who gets got shot in his jiggly belly with a cannonball. The episode called ‘Homerpalooza’ (Season 7 / Episode 24) came out in 1996 when Lolla was culture tidal wave of on the peak of 90’s alternative music breakthrough period culturally so it was ripe for satire. There is some very memorable scenes with Smashing Pumpkins, Cypress Hill, and Sonic Youth all providing their voices for the episode.  You can stream every episode of the Simpsons now on Disney+.
