NHL looks great inside the bubble

NHL returned to the ice this week under strict bubble restrictions in Toronto and Edmonton with an exciting look. When you consider there are no fans at these games, the production around it really spruces up the look and feel of the game on TV. The dubbed-in audio is not nearly as distracting as it has been in MLB games without fans. The crowd noise is in sync with the play as much it can be with being chimed in correlation to the action on the ice.

Kudos to the NHL for getting players in a safety bubble, especially as see other leagues dealing with positive COVID-19 outbreaks like the Miami Marlins in MLB earlier this week.This official video shows how the teams are literally taking an isolated path from hotels, testing for the virus, and the extensive safety protocols.

It helps that the Blackhawks upset the heavily-favored Oilers in their qualifying round opener on Saturday.

TikTok could get banned in the U.S.A

So the app that has made everyone try a dance they did not know how to do is in serious trouble. TikTok could be banned in the United States following comment by President Trump this weekend. Trump stated to reporters on Air Force One that the app would be “banned” from the U.S. as early as today, but the move has not been confirmed. The app has been banned in India by government officials who claimed it posed a serious risk for user privacy.  ABC News has more in this video above.

Yahoo Finance looked into the reports that the operators of TikTok, ByteDance to sell TikTok to Microsoft. The U.S. government has concerns that app is building up a bank of information for foreign governments specifically China. The American military has banned TikTok on all of it’s issued devices. Youtuber Atozy breaks all of the issues that lead to this and how the TikTokers are responding.

Get caught up Lollapalooza 2020 so far

Lots of reflection on Lollapalooza’s past as we take in this year’s unique virtual version streaming for free here on 101WKQX.COM and YouTube. The pics being posted of all the fun had in sweaty grassy fields of Grant Park, backstage interviews, and larger-than-life performances. It’s also a light at the end of the tunnel to know that in the future, we will be able to have this communal experiences again in the greatest live music city in the world, Chicago.

We are in the middle of four days of fresh performances filmed just for the stream mixed with special interviews and classic expanded sets from the past. Here are some of the highlights you can get caught up on the wonderful Lolla content from the past two days with the Cure, Metallica, Tenacious D, the Front Bottoms, Marc Rebillet, Run the Jewels, Yungblud, and many more. Also those extra-long sets from LCD Soundsystem and Paul McCartney.

 

‘Coca-Cola with Coffee’ and alcoholic Topo Chico coming soon

In a world where you can buy Peeps Oreos and pumpkin pie Kit-Kats, this should surprise no one.

The Coca-Cola company announced the impending debuts of two new drinks: Coca-Cola with Coffee (in Dark Blend, Vanilla and Caramel) and alcoholic Topo Chico sparkling mieral water.

Both are expected to make their U.S. debuts next year.

Living inside a hotel for a few months might not be ideal, unless you’re an NBA player of course.

They are ordering some pretty crazy stuff to the NBA bubble. Like a full couch, a refrigerator, and even full size arcade machines.

Listen, they’re bringing us sports, so if they want to order a huge punching bag to hang in their hotel room then let them!

Also, that’s a ridiculous amount of Clorox wipes.

City of Des Plaines alarmed by tent revival that does not comply with Covid-19 orders

There is a tricky problem going on in Des Plaines right now.

There is a traveling worship event that has come to town and has put officials in a weird spot.

They are having a large gathering with no social distancing, inside a large tent, with no masks on.

They say they have a permit to be there, the city says otherwise.

This is one huge yikes!

That’s right KFC and Crocs collabed to make some sandals that smell like fried chicken.

Hopefully you aren’t too excited to grab yourself a pair of finger lickin good crocs because they sold out in minutes.

If you absolutely are dying to have them though, they are reselling on ebay for around $500!

That’s an expensive pair of Crocs!
