What color are Billie Eilish’s shoes?

Oh no, this is another one of those blue and black or blue and gold dress debates.

Ok, what do you see?

Are Billie Eilish’s shoes pink and white, or mint and white?

What is it! I can’t take this!

Science Says That the Scariest Movie of All Time Is . . .

What’s the scariest movie you’ve ever seen?  If it’s not “Sinister”, then you’re WRONG.  Because science just determined that it’s the ACTUAL scariest movie of all time.

“Sinister” stars ETHAN HAWKE as a true crime writer who moves into a house where a family was murdered and . . . stuff happens.  It came out in 2012.

So how was this decided?  Someone chose 50 horror movies, then had 50 people sit down and watch them all . . . and their heart rates were monitored the whole time.

Fifty movies isn’t exactly a comprehensive overview of the horror genre, but they chose them based on their ratings on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes.  And the list did include many of the supposedly scariest films of all time.

“Insidious” came in second.  The test subjects reacted to both of the top movies with an average heart rate of 86 beats per minute.  “Sinister” won for keeping their hearts pounding for the entire movie, while “Insidious” got the biggest jump scare.

(They didn’t identify the actual scene with the biggest jump scare, but it was probably this one.)

Here are the Top 20 scariest movies, and the average heart rates they generated:

1.  (tie) “Sinister” and “Insidious”, 86 beats per minute.

3.  “The Conjuring”,  85 bpm.

4.  “Hereditary”,  83 bpm.

5.  “Paranormal Activity”,  82 bpm.

6.  “It Follows”,  81 bpm.

7.  (tie) “The Conjuring 2” and “The Babadook”,  80 bpm.

9.  (tie) “The Descent”“The Visit”, and “The Ring”,  79 bpm.

12.  (tie) “A Quiet Place” and “A Nightmare on Elm Street”,  78 bpm.

14.  (tie) “Halloween”“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”“28 Days Later”, and “The Exorcist”,  77 bpm.

18.  “Hush”, 76 bpm.

19.  “It”, 75 bpm.

20.  “Scream”, 73 bpm.

It’s interesting that everything in the Top 10 came out within the last 20 years.  THEN you start seeing more classic stuff.

It’s kind of amazing that legendary flicks like “Halloween”“Chainsaw”, and “The Exorcist” don’t even make the Top 10, but tastes change.  I mean, people were terrified of the old “Frankenstein” and “Dracula” movies when they first came out in the ’30s and ’40s.

Some other classic movies that appear further down the list include “The Omen”“The Shining”“Alien”“The Thing”, and “Friday the 13th”.

Troy Aikman and Tom Brady do not like a wet butt

A professional quarterbacks worst foe is an O-lineman’s swamp butt apparently.

That’s what Troy Aikman says at least, he even name drops Tom Brady to back up his point.

He really made his center change pants at halftime!

To all the centers out there. Just know that your butts are fine just the way they are. No matter how swampy and gross they may be.

WTF: This guy was hanging off the side of Trump Tower!

Why is it that someone at least once a year climbs up one of the huge towers downtown?

This time a guy decided to hang off the side of Trump Tower. He was demanding to speak to the president.

Maybe he didn’t know that he doesn’t live in Chicago…

I mean I can understand the confusion, the guys name is on the side of the building for Pete’s sake!

But kids, listen. Don’t climb the towers downtown! It’s DANGEROUS!

Watch the Foo Figthers & Rise Against full SOS Fest sets

The Save Our Stages Fest provided three days of needed hekp to independent music venues in need but that does not stop you from watching the previous day’s sets with your donations now. You can still watch all three days on YouTube and continue to donate.  Here are two must-see performances from two cherished alternative bands.

The Troubadour in Los Angeles has been linked the 80’s hey day of hair bands and rise of epic debaucherous rock ‘n roll nights but this weekend it was the room ran by Foo Fighters. In this set posted above, Dave Grohl and company performed a an acoustic set featuring hair-raising renditions of ‘Everlong’, ‘These Days’, ‘Skin & Bones’ and more songs that will bring you to tears.

Meanwhile right here in Chicago just a few blocks north of Wrigley Field, Rise Against pulled off a brillant full-electric set in the Metro. To say it wan emotional set would be under selling it. The set featured ‘Give it All’ , ‘Re-education through labor’ and more songs that make you wish you were pumping your fist in a sweaty crowd. This is mandatory viewing for any fan of RA, alternative music, and any Chicago music fan. Do what you can for the venues, the crews, the staff behind the bar, and beyond working for our local venues in need. Here is how YOU can act with the National Independent Venue Association.

Saturday 10:12 AM – 700 N. Milwaukee ave, Vernon Hills – White male, Mid 60’s using a sling shot to hit people with chicken bones outside IHOP.

Sunday 6:34 PM – N. Northwest Hwy, Barrington – Multiple calls from a woman demanding we arrest her horse for kicking her. No injuries reported.

We can only hope that people don’t ever stop being super weird.

Cook County Jail sets up polling locations for the first time ever

Cook County Jail detainees can now cast their vote in this historical voting location.

This is the first time in history that a jail will serve as a polling location during a presidential election.

Detainees started casting their early votes on Saturday.

Go on out and get your vote counted!

Mayor resigns after newscaster threats

Remember the newscaster out in Alaska who exposed the mayor of her city, who coincidentally she was having an affair with?

She made a whole report and posted it on her Facebook page claiming that the Mayor had his nudes posted on underage websites.

She also posted graphic photos of the mayor on her page as well.

Now there is new leaked audio of a voicemail that she left for the Mayor. Needless to say, she had nothing nice to say at all.

Listen here:

The Mayor has since resigned after the videos were released. He denied the claims of posting the photos but admitted to having a relationship with the news anchor.

The newscaster was barred from the station for her actions.

What a rollercoaster of emotions!

Chicago named “rattiest city” for sixth year in a row

Congrats Chicagoans! We’ve kept our streak alive.

Chicago has been named the “rattiest city” in America for the sixth year in a row by Orkin pest control.

We sure do love our rats!

Some would say our rat population award is disgusting, I say a title is a title.

Hopefully we can shoot for 7 years in a row!

Shout out Chance the Ratter, we couldn’t have done it without you bud.

Ladies and gentlemen, I bring you — The Beachstie Boys.

I continue to be amazed by people’s ability to find connection between songs that — well, would otherwise seem like they have NO connection.  Enter Kevin Miller with the latest entry:  The Beastie Boys “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party),” in the style of Beach Boys’ hit single “I Get Around.”

Enjoy.  And then try to figure out how in the world Lady Gaga and Linkin Park mesh.  — [eric]
