Old Morton Salt factory to become new Chicago music venue
It’s the Salt Shed. And it’s coming August 2022 to Chicago.
A $50 million redevelopment of the old Morton Salt factory will yield both indoor (3600 capacity) and outdoor (7000 capacity) venues, as well as the possibility of having other tenants such as a riverfront bar/restaurant, breweries, and coffee roasters.
The people behind Empty Bottle & Thalia Hall are behind this project, who put their first ever schedule up on Facebook.

Dave Grohl and company will be doing a VR concert immediately after the football game. Grab your Oculus headset and get ready to plug in at approximately 10PMCST — oh, and if you don’t want to get too fancy, it will be on the Foo Fighters’ Facebook page as well.
Lifehacker also has some other options for you today — a reboot of a beloved sitcom, a cute and cuddly puppy tradition, and so much more to keep you occupied. Oh, and in 2022 you can watch the Super Bowl commercials before they even air. WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!!!

UPDATE: A happy ending to a sad story.
A classic car owned by Billie Joe Armstrong was stolen this week —-
The best news? It’s been found, abandoned and undamaged. However, an amp and some guitars belonging to the Green Day frontman were stolen and still missing. At least Billie Joe got back a car that’s been with the band for three decades. Wow.

Sad Night Dynamite- Ice Violence. I’m pretty much obsessed with this band at the moment. They are opening for Glass Animals on their upcoming US tour and I NEED to see them.
Jadu Heart- Another Life. I really like songs that ride out, and this one rides out.
Liam Gallagher- Everything’s Electric. Its not Oasis, but it still rules.
Two Feet and Grandson- Until I Come Home. Grandson always does good features right?
Pearl Jam- Hail, Hail. I saw Eddie twice this week so I’m officially on a Pearl Jam kick, and I always felt No Code was super underrated and unfairly panned because it was such a different sound than what anyone expected from the band when it came out. There are some gems on that record, this being one of them.

The video above is security footage of the person throwing a brick through the front door before getting into a car and driving off. Luckily, none of the employees were hurt during the confrontation. Thanks to the #wienersleuths and #wienerheads, they’ve tracked down who the car belongs to according to the license plate in the video, and the name really fits!

Foo Fighters in VR
The Foo Fighters announced they’ll be performing a free streamable concert after THE BIG GAME in 180-degree Virtual Reality. You can watch in VR using an Oculus headset, or in the gold standard: 2-D on Facebook Live.
The show will start at 10p C, or directly following the game . . . whichever is later. If you miss the show, it’ll be available in Oculus TV and Horizon Venues. Will you be watching in 2 or 3-D? <3 Lauren
Weezer announces 4 albums for 2022!
Looks like Weezer is making good on their promise to release 4 albums this year, in conjunction with the seasons…or should i say szns? The SZNS Collection will debut with Spring on March 20th and continue with Summer on June 20th, Fall on September 22nd, and Winter on December 21st. Can’t wait for the “dibs” song in December.

A woman completely failed her job interview because of this…
A woman was interviewing for a job at an airline and she was submitting her questions to them online. Little did she know that the recording of her interview had already started when she was practicing answering the questions. Her big mistake? Making fun of the questions she was being asked… it’s painful but you have to watch!

Tell us you smoke weed and drive without telling us you smoke weed and drive. You don’t even have to ask what happened here- we already know! Is there a special shovel for the inside of the car?
Do you own any used furniture?
We’ve all heard the stories of people finding money in previously owned couch cushions and jackets, etc. But THIS is a first… (warning, strong stomach recommended for the next part)
There was a couple who’s dog ruined their couch. Instead of wasting good money on a new one just to have the dog ruin it, they purchased a new-to-them (aka previously owned) couch from a craigslist-type scenario. All was fine until a remote was lost in the cushions a week later, and the new owner reached his hand in, only to pull out….
A HANDFUL OF FINGERNAILS :X
Upon further (vomit) inspection, THOUSANDS of fingernails were found in the cushions.
So what did they do?! Burn the couch, his arm and the entire apartment down?! (seems reasonable enough)
Not really, they vacuumed it and are keeping the horror couch.

MGK brought the heat to the NHL All-Star Game
Despite thinking that he was performing at “halftime”, MGK had the honor of crushing it at the NHL All-Star Game over the weekend.
Next year, he’ll knock it out of the park at the Pro Bowl.
