Doug Kammerer, a weatherman for an NBC affiliate in Washington, D.C. called his kids live on the air when he realized that a tornado was going to go right over their house. It’s definitely one benefit of having your dad be the weatherman. Usually he’s just lying about how nice it’s going to be over the weekend, but sometimes he’s useful!
He’s a SOLO TRIO! Watch Dominic Fragman play Rush’s Tom Sawyer all by his lonesome. He’s doing the drums, guitar and singing all at once, watch! What an amazing talent!
According to psychologist Hope Bastine, which side of the bed you prefer says a lot about you. Lefties? Well, you’re more cheerful confident and harder workers! yes! What about the right then? Right side sleepers are more logical, analytical, will make more money over time and are more grounded. Pick a side!
28 years ago today, a generation lost its voice. Kurt Cobain, lead singer of Nirvana, took his own life 28 years ago today after a long battle with depression, addiction, and the pressures of being the biggest rocks tar on the planet. And while he left us way too soon, there is no denying the mark he made on pop culture, music, and an entire generation. I remember listening to WKQX the day it happened, glued to the speakers for confirmation that the rumor was true, and for the shared experience of an audience mourning the loss of its hero. Here are a few of my favorite Nirvana tunes that I will be playing at max volume all day today.
Using 300 drones, a man made a floating formation of a QR code in the city of Dallas as an April Fool’s prank. People saw the glowing image in the night sky and held up their phones. Was it a discount for a new club? Was a message from aliens? No. They just got Rick-Rolled. Genius.
Here is a video of O.J. Simpson. He’s not giving his take on Twitter while golfing, he’s just in the background. It appears as though some friends busted into his room to wake him up to go party. Most of of his friends in this video are 20-something women too. Life is still good for the juice. It’s party time.
When a mom asks her kid if she remembers her birth, THIS is her answer. It starts out fine, then gets incredibly dark and creepy. How in the world would a little kid come up with an answer like that?! I doubt she watches horror movies at her age… This will bend your mind!
Jonathan Toews became the 8th player in franchise history to play in 1000 regular season games. On Sunday at the UC, the hawks honored him with a silver stick, surprise guests like Hossa, and Seabrook, and made him this touching montage of some of his best goals.
Suddenly you’re missing an edible brownie and no one at the party looks high. Then you see your car and he looks like this… uh oh! Obviously, you should never purposely feed your pet a magical brownie. Don’t worry, the cat was fine later.
PIQNIQ is here! After a loooooong wait, the PIQNIQ bear is out of hibernation and we are officially partying at the Hollywood Casino Ampitheatre on June 12th! Presale tickets are available now, and I figured what better way to get in the mood for a summer day full of your favorite music than with a solid playlist. Here are the songs I’m most excited to see live. See YOU at PIQNIQ June 12th!
Cannons- Bad Dream. This band is such a vibe and I can not wait to see them live.
Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats- SOB. These dudes obviously have an amazing catalogue and I am very stoked to hear Survivor and You Worry Me and Wasting Time, but I will always love this song and dance like a weirdo when it comes on.
Cold War Kids- Miracle Mile and Hang Me Up to Dry. Here’s the thing about CWK, I wouldnt consider them one of my favorite bands, but I would consider these two songs two of my favorite tunes ever. I love the guitar riff on Hang Me Up, and the chorus of Miracle Mile absolutely sends me.
Walk the Moon- Anna Sun. Speaking of all time songs. 10 years ago I ruptured a disc in my back that caused me to have to have surgery. During my recovery I discovered this song and must have listened to it about 100x times a day (yes Im that guy) while I was stuck in bed recovering. I will never not think of that time in my life when I hear this, and how this song got me through some dark lonely times being stuck alone unable to tie my shoes lol.
Almost Monday- Live Forever. This song gives me Cage the Elephant vibes in the best way possible.
Bastille- Pompeii. No commentary necessary. One of the best songs of the 2010’s.
Cannons- Sex on Fire. I have a love hate relationships with cover songs, but this is rad. They made it their own and I hope they play it at the show.
Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats- I’m On Your Side. This song is going to sound SO good at the end of the night while you’re surrounded by your crew.
Walk the Moon- I Can Lift a Car. This one always hits me in the feels.
This commercial for Sizzler is from 1991 and it will get you feeling nostalgic. It was a grand time, without cell phones, social media, and there was no such thing as political fights on Facebook. These people just wanted to play some baseball, go fishing, and be American! Oh, and if they want to eat at Sizzler too that’s cool, they have “choices.” What an amazing moment in time. Thank you for this, Sizzler.
So you’re about to pass away but you’ve got some secrets. If you don’t want to spill the beans yourself, you can always wait until you die and this guy will tell everyone at your funeral for you! Meet Bill Edgar. He gets paid thousands to crash funerals and give people the ‘hot goss,’ hot gossip for some. But he’s more of a mouthpiece for those that want a few last messages delivered at their funeral. He gets up in the front of their friends and family and says a few last words on behalf of the departed. He’s written books, and has recently expanded his business so tat this becomes more of a popular practice among people.
Shanghai is going through a serious lockdown so the city has these cute (or creepy) robot dogs run up and down the streets. They bark orders at residents telling them to wash their hands, stay inside, wear a mask, and take their temperature. The future is here and it freaks me out. I’d be terrified if one of these little guys came up from behind me!
These people were lucky enough to see a bear chase some animals in a field while driving. Isn’t nature amazing?! Then the bear saw the truck and started to make a b-line for it! Watch how fast the bear decides to go after the moving vehicle and come somewhat close… don’t mess with bears!
“DecayingMatt” on TikTok visits old abandoned buildings in the Midwest and this video shows some highlights from Chicago. It’s weird to think that these buildings are just sitting there being unused, but it happens a lot and these guys go in and explore. The funeral home and the ER creeped me out, but it would be fun to go inside one them and just walk around a little bit right? Let them do the dirty work for you! Watch!
George Clinton celebrates his 80th birthday in New Jersey where a section of Plainfield Avenue has been named Parliament Funkadelic Way /// Tanya Breen / USA TODAY NETWORK
The Red Hot Chili Peppers dropped a secret show on L.A. April 1st — with two very special guests.
One was known and anticipated — the return of band’s most well-known guitarist. The other guest was a big funk-in’ surprise.
The crowd was chanting “John Frusicante! John Frusicante!” — but that soon changed when George Clinton the legendary founder of Parliament Funkadelic joined the band on stage for a rendition of “Give It Away.”
Check out the video below. And check out the new album Unlimited Love, streaming as of this weekend.
Eric Kristensen was once mistakenly thought to be the actor who played Gutter in the movie PCU. Eric is actually aware, however, that there was music recorded before the year 1989. You can follow [e.k.] on Instagram (@erickristensen).
