Two of your favorite things have no collided, Garrett’s Popcorn and Revolution Brewing. Caramel Crisp Caramel Popcorn Ale is a brown ale that is now available in Chicago and will be statewide by October 1st. Evolution uses 450 pounds of popcorn and 1,200 pounds of brown sugar for every 120 barrels of the 7 percent ABV beer. The brewery adds the caramel early on in the process so you really get a full caramel taste, and they throw in plenty of Kosher salt too, to make the popcorn flavors, ahh pop. If it goes well, it could be a staple every year around this time.
Last night I stayed up WAY past my bedtime and visited the new CloudBar on the 94th floor of the John Hancock Center. It’s all a part of the 360 Chicago experience. Your beloved Tilt is still there, the ride that allows you to tower 1,000 ft over Michigan Ave, terrifying yet, somehow fun. CloudBar is just a nice addition with signature cocktails, and fancy eats. It’s more than just a place to take your uncle when he visits. Now, it’s where you want to be with your girlfriends on a Friday getting happy hour. They’ll even have entertainment some nights, like local magician AJ Sacco. Sure, they’ve got the best views in the city, but they’ve got heart too. CloudBar, it’s not just for tourists anymore. Take a gander and a drink! -Ali

Aug. 8th was the final sunset after 8pm, now, the final sunset of 2022 after 7pm is going to be tonight. Where did summer go?! Don’t worry, it won’t be until December 16th when the earliest sunset happens on the 16th at 4:22 pm.
There was a possibility of a strike between union rail workers and railroad companies looming this week, so Metra cancelled 4 busy Chicago-area routes for tonight. However, an agreement was reached late last night to stop the the strike and continue service on all trains. Your commute will not be disrupted!
Metra’s post on the Facebook said, “We are greatly relieved that we will be able to continue to provide the safe and reliable service that you deserve and that you rely upon. Please accept our apologies for this week of uncertainty and anxiety, and our thanks for your patience and understanding. The late Thursday evening trains that had been canceled by BNSF and Union Pacific in anticipation of a strike will now run as scheduled”
A HUGE 10 foot alligator was found in a neighborhood outside of Houston. It was so massive that they had to hire a tow truck to remove it! This happens about 35 times a year in surrounding suburbs when gators go looking for another water source.
