Paul Simon Performs His Rarely-Played 1973 Hit, “Kodachrome,” After Fan Offers Him $20

Paul Simon Performs His Rarely-Played 1973 Hit, “Kodachrome,” After Fan Offers Him $20

During his concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles on Wednesday (July 16), Paul Simon initially dismissed a fan who shouted out for “Kodachrome” during his encore. “I don’t take requests, but I’ll do some of it for $20,” Simon replied. In a fan-captured video of the interaction, the two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee can be seen taking the cash from the fan, and happily performing about 90 seconds of the song, which he hadn't played live since 2019. “Kodachrome” peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1973, and was the lead single from Simon’s Grammy-nominated album, There Goes Rhymin' Simon. Despite a series of health challenges, including severe hearing loss and a recent back surgery that caused him to cancel a series of shows, the 83-year-old music legend continues his A Quiet Celebration Tour with a three-night stand in San Francisco through Tuesday (July 22), followed by three shows in Vancouver, before finishing the run with five dates in Seattle from July 31-August 6. Wet Leg Dethrones Oasis To Score Their Second U.K. No. 1 Album With ‘Moisturizer

Wet Leg Dethrones Oasis To Score Their Second U.K. No. 1 Album With ‘Moisturizer

Isle of Wight indie rockers Wet Leg have secured their second consecutive U.K. No. 1 album with Moisturizer, which overtakes Oasis by debuting atop the Official Albums Chart. In a playful Instagram reel, singer/guitarist Rhian Teasdale vowed to shave her armpits if they beat Oasis to the top spot. Once Wet Leg secured the No. 1 spot, she further poked fun of the Britpop legends by wearing an unofficial Oasis T-shirt featuring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels from the 1994 comedy, Dumb and Dumber, instead of the Gallagher brothers. Oasis is still controlling the top of the chart, with their 2010 compilation, Time Flies… 1994-2009, only slipping a spot to No. 2, while 1995’s (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? sits at No. 4, and 1994’s Definitely Maybe is at No. 5. Oasis’ current chart dominance is buoyed by their ongoing Live ‘25 reunion tour, which just wrapped up a celebrated five-night stand in the band’s hometown of Manchester, followed by a five-night stint at London’s historic Wembley Stadium set to kick off on Friday (July 25). Metallica’s ‘M72’ Stage Saves Tomorrowland After Fire Destroys EDM Festival’s Main Stage

Metallica’s ‘M72’ Stage Saves Tomorrowland After Fire Destroys EDM Festival’s Main Stage

The popular EDM festival Tomorrowland in Antwerp, Belgium was at risk of cancellation after a massive fire destroyed their main stage on Wednesday (July 17), just one day before the festival was scheduled to begin. Despite the setback, the festival was able to continue thanks to Metallica, who airlifted their M72 World Tour stage from storage in Austria overnight and quickly assembled it at the festival grounds. This allowed headlining acts like Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Steve Aoki, Dillon Francis, Deadmau5, and Eric Prydz to proceed with their performances as planned. The news of Metallica’s involvement was first made by Dutch DJ Martin Garrix, who shared a photo of him and Lars Ulrich on Instagram on Friday, and captioned his post: “My set at Tomorrowland is still happening! 🙏 massive love and a big shoutout to the incredible @tomorrowland team for pulling off miracles — and to @Metallica for coming through with the new stage parts 🤘❤️ this will hands down be the most unique Tomorrowland ever.” Metallica responded to the post with a “🖤” in the comments. Stevie Nicks And Lindsey Buckingham Spark Reunion Rumours With Mysterious Instagram Posts

Stevie Nicks And Lindsey Buckingham Spark Reunion Rumours With Mysterious Instagram Posts

Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham have sparked possible reunion rumors with a couple of cryptic Instagram posts shared on Thursday (July 17). Nicks posted the handwritten words, "And if you go forward…," and Buckingham completed the line with, "I'll meet you there," a lyric from the 1973 Buckingham Nicks' song, "Frozen Love." The speculation intensified when Mick Fleetwood posted a video of himself listening to the same song, adding the caption, "Magic then, magic now." Despite their tumultuous history, Nicks and Buckingham's posts have fueled speculation about a potential reunion, either as a duo or with Fleetwood Mac, although Nicks previously stated “there’s no chance” of a Mac reunion after the death of Christine McVie in 2022. This interaction follows the 50th anniversary on July 11 of the release of their celebrated 1975 album, Fleetwood Mac, which marked the formation of the core group of the band, featuring Fleetwood, Nicks, Buckingham, McVie, and her then-husband John McVie. Perry Ferrell Sues His Ex-Jane’s Addition Bandmates, After They Filed A Lawsuit Against Him

A short time after a lawsuit was filed against him by ex-Jane’s Addiction members Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins, and Eric Avery, frontman Perry Farrell has now sued his former bandmates, alleging assault, battery, bullying, harassment, and breach of contract. The lawsuits both stem from an onstage fight where Farrell punched Navarro during a concert in Boston in 2024, causing the band to cancel their remaining tour dates and eventually break up. “Without warning or consultation and using Perry as a scapegoat, Dave Navarro and the other band members took it upon themselves to abruptly cancel the remaining tour dates—violating contracts and disregarding all professional obligations,” reads a statement from Farrell’s lawyer. “Perry was blindsided by not being allowed to vote and be heard, leaving him unable to plead his case to continue the tour for their fans.” Both parties have now filed separate lawsuits, with Farrell seeking to hold his bandmates accountable for the cancellation, while Navarro, Avery, and Perkins are seeking $10 million in damages, citing assault, battery, emotional distress, negligence, and breach of contract. Bruce Springsteen’s Recent Tour Grosses Nearly $730 Million, The Boss’ Top Earning Tour Of His Career

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band recently completed their most successful world tour ever, grossing over $700 million and making it the most lucrative in the Boss’ long touring history. Spanning 129 shows across two continents from 2023 to 2025, the tour sold 4.9 million tickets, averaging 37,900 tickets and $5.7 million per show. Bonnaroo Will Return In 2026 With Modifications In Place To Prevent Weather-Related Cancellations

Following the cancellation of this year's Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival due to heavy rains, event organizers initially cast doubts on whether the festival would return next year. Yet on Thursday (July 17), they officially announced that the festival will return to Manchester, Tennessee from June 11-14, 2026, with modifications to the grounds to prevent future cancellations. The plans include removing flood-prone campsite areas, which “will result in a reduced capacity on The Farm (more dancing space).” They also will start allowing entry to the campgrounds on Wednesday, to avoid the typical long lines of festivalgoers trying to access the site on Thursday. Additional improvements include “reseeding the property, continuing to increase access roads within the campgrounds, adding more drainage and reinforcing primary water runoff pathways.” After considering switching the festival dates to a drier season, Bonnaroo will retain its traditional June timeframe based on consultations with weather experts, with plans for the 2026 festival to “kick things off Thursday evening on the What Stage with an epic welcome party.” (Rolling Stone)

Kameron Marlowe’s “Born in the U.S.A.” Inspired New Single, “Seventeen,” Gets Bruce Springsteen’s Stamp Of Approval

Kameron Marlowe's new single, "Seventeen," draws inspiration from both the spirit and melody of Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the U.S.A.," and the country track ultimately gained the Boss's approval. “I can’t even believe that he heard a song I wrote,” co-writer Austin Goodloe says. “Then, just selfishly, for all of us to have our name next to his on a writing credit was extra special.” Marlowe and Goodloe join fellow co-writers Tucker Beathard and Joybeth Taylor, who now all have their names appearing alongside Springsteen. They worked on the track at Combustion Music with producer Dann Huff, with the song capturing the essence of adolescence and nostalgia, blending with classic rock elements. “Seventeen” was released to country radio by Columbia Nashville on June 16, with July 14 pegged as the official add date. It also marks Marlowe's first solo radio single in four years. “I wanted it to be completely different, and it kind of says that without saying it,” Marlowe notes. “It felt right to lead off with this one.” (Billboard)

Teen Accused Of Plotting Knife Attack At First Oasis Reunion Gig In Cardiff

A 17-year-old from Wales has been accused of planning a knife attack at Oasis' first reunion gig in Cardiff on July 5, allegedly inspired by a 2024 attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class that left three young girls dead. The teenage boy reportedly researched potential targets, including his school and a nearby dance studio, while also seeking to acquire a large knife online. He also expressed admiration online for the perpetrator of the previous attack, while saving an al-Qaeda training manual on his phone. The suspect was ultimately charged with possession of a document useful for terrorism rather than planning a terrorist attack, since he did not espouse an ideology that fit the legal definition of terrorism in the U.K. The teenager has admitted to the charges, and a sentencing date has yet to be set. Jane’s Addiction members Dave Navarro, Eric Avery, and Stephen Perkins are suing lead singer Perry Farrell for $10 million after an onstage altercation in September 2024 disrupted their North American tour and derailed their plans for a new album.
