Watch NASCAR driver Ross Chastain pull a maneuver straight out of an EA sports game. It was the last lap and he was in 10th place at Martinsville. He drove his car into the wall and then he accelerated to pass cars in the final lap on the third and fourth turns giving him 5th place and advancing him to the NASCAR Cup Series championship race. The 2022 Cup Series championship winner-take-all title race is in Phoenix on Nov. 6. “Played a lot of NASCAR 05 on the Gamecube with [brother] Chad growing up and you can get away with it,” Chastain said. “And I never knew if it would actually work. I did that when I was 8 years old.”

These shoes are called Moonwalkers, and they are changing the name of the game. The hi-tech shoes are expected to be released next year. The makers boast that these shoes will make the average person go 250% faster, especially good for urban areas where it doesn’t make sense to own a car. As more and more people are weary about taking public transportation, this is a great option for warmer weather.
Moonwalkers are not skates, even though they look like them, the company located in Pennsylvania said. “They’re highly engineered additions to your shoes that you strap on and walk at the speed of a run,” they added. Shift Robotics CEO Xunjie Zang went to study at Carnegie Mellon’s Robotic Institute and spend four years working on locomotion, then finally he solved the problem of slow walking. He used to take a scooter to work, then almost got hit by a car leading him to want another solution, hence Moonwalkers. You can get them next year for low price of $1,400, yikes.

Yes, his excuse, or reasoning, for failing his interview was that they couldn’t handle his special purpose from God. Unbelievable. That’s a new one. Maybe he was just a little too “eager” to be there. The interviewer was probably frightened by the fact that he couldn’t control himself. A new 58-mile bike trail will connect West Michigan to Chicago
Construction on a 58-mile, non-motorized bike path that will connect West Michigan to Chicago is set begin next year. Starting in New Buffalo Michigan, the Marquette Greenway Trail Project will go through Indiana and end at Calumet Park on Chicago’s southeast side. The Illinois part is done already, but the Indiana portion won’t be finished until early 2027. The Michigan portion will be constructed in two phases, both will be ready by 2025. What are you waiting for Indiana? Let’s go! Funding for the project is coming from a handful of federal, state and local grants including a $17.8 million grant from U.S. Department of Transportation to the Northwest Indiana Regional Planning Commission. It’ll take a little bit of time, but until then bikers, you can ride around here in Chicago and surrounding burbs in your cute little outfits. You’ll have to wait a few years to go all the way to Michigan along the lake shore free of traffic from cars. -Ali

If there’s one message that the music industry picked up in the first half of this year is that concerts are back baby. Fans want to get out, and see live music. Box office figures from Pollstar show people are getting back out there and are willing to spend big dollars too. Gross averages in the year’s first half show an average box-office gain of $856,206 per show. Damn, that’s a LOT of dough. So who has the highest grossing tour in 2022? Bad Bunny. Here’s the top 10, take note of our boys in Coldplay coming in strong at number 9 with almost $45 million earned worldwide.

‘Winterland’ at Wrigley Field will feature ice skating inside this year
The ice rink, previously outside of of Wrigley Field at Gallagher Way is now being moved inside. Now you can ice skate on the field- on top of ice that is. The rink will be in right field and the as usual, the Christkindlmarket Wrigleyville will still be right outside. If you need to rent skates, they have you covered too. You can get a pair for a few bucks, and it’s only $12 with your own skates. “Winterland” runs from Friday, Nov. 18 through Jan. 8.
Dave Grohl pulls a quick one on autograph hunters
The front man of the Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl, is taking a strong stance against autograph hunters. He’s usually been very nice and signed most anything, but enough is enough. People need to stop profiting from his signature. This video shows him asking fans to please understand but he doesn’t do them anymore unless it’s for charity. The autograph hunters doubled down and asked him to personalize it. “I’m gonna say it one more time,” Grohl starts slowly, “I stopped signing s*** unless it’s for charity.” They continue to hound him, then he pulls this classic move on them. Help name Shedd Aquarium’s new sea otter!
I loooooove sea otters! Whenever I go to Shedd Aquarium I make a beeline toward them because they are the cutest animals on the planet! Seriously, I have dreams about holding a sea otter. One day, it will happen. Anyhoo, Shedd welcomed two new females earlier this month, otter 926 and 929, which aren’t the most catchy names I’ve ever heard unless they are extras in the new Terminator movie. They are being smart about it too, you don’t have the ability to “write-in” your name suggestion (sorry, no Brian For Mayor the Otter this time) so get your vote in for either Sunny, Jade or Willow HERE. <3 Lauren
Am I The Jerk? Alec Baldwin is on the chopping block this week
Alec Baldwin recently dropped a weird post about the death of Halyna Hutchins, the woman he accidentally shot and killed on the movie set of Rust. The gun he was using in the film was supposed to be loaded with blanks and instead had live ammo. Baldwin claimed he never pulled the trigger and it accidentally went off, the FBI says that’s absolutely not possible.
This all happened a year ago. For some reason Alec made this post to Instagram a few days on the one year anniversary of her passing- is he the jerk?
