Justin wants to ruin your day by showing you this video of hot dogs being made

Before you enjoy a baseball game under the warm sun this summer, remember that Justin is asking you to stop eating hot dogs.

In 2011, the World Health Organization (WHO) concluded that processed meat of any kind was a Class 1 carcinogen (the same classification as cigarettes). If a person eats 3.5 ounces (the size of one jumbo hot dog) of processed meat every day, their risk of colorectal cancer will be 36% higher than someone who eats no processed meat. If they eat 7.0 ounces of processed meat every day (49 ounces per week), their risk will be 72% higher.

The King sits atop the throne: LeBron James breaks the all-time scoring record

‘The Chosen One’ has done it. Faced with more pressure than perhaps any other athlete in history, LeBron James once again reminded people that he has lived up to the hype by breaking Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s scoring record, once thought to be an impossible record to break. James put up 38 points in a heroic effort against Oklahoma City, only to lose in defeat thanks to the lumbering oafs that James has surrounded himself with.

The King now sits atop the throne, ahead of Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, and Michael Jordan, respectively.

Chicagoland, does Lebron finally have the edge over Jordan? The conversation lives on Facebook!

Naperville named safest city in America, Joliet ranked #8

A recent MoneyGeek poll has found that two Chicagoland hotbeds are some of the safest cities in America. Naperville, home to just shy of 150,000 citizens, was named the safest city in all of the country. “The Dirty J” Joliet, who narrowly edges them out in population, finished seven spots behind them. According to the publication, the ranking looked at “standardized crime statistics reported to the FBI” in 2021. That data was then analyzed with the population of each city to determine crime rates per 100,000 people.

Midwest cities like Detroit, Milwaukee, and St. Louis found their way onto the 15 Most Dangerous Cities list. Chicago ranked on neither list.

Does this poll accurately represent the feelings of those in Naperville? The conversation lives on Facebook!

Missing packages? Your mail might have ended up in a South Loop hotel

Chicago Police discovered stolen mail in a vacant South Loop hotel room just after midnight on Tuesday. The Virgin Hotel on North Wabash housed the stolen mail. WGN cameras caught officers transporting the mail upon their arrival on Tuesday.

A spokesperson for USPS said, “Postal Inspectors and Chicago Police have launched an investigation this morning into which individual(s) possessed Postal property at that downtown hotel room, how they came into its possession, and what specific criminal activity they may have used it for.”

On average each household receives two pieces of mail each day. 9.5 million people live in Chicagoland – that’s 19 Million pieces of mail a day in Chicagoland. The Sightline Institute says each American receives an average of 41 pounds of junk mail per year. New York University says 5.6 million tons of junk mail end up in America.

‘This is some BS!’ Brian Haddad sounds off on the new AMC Seating Policy

Brian Haddad, who has not enjoyed a comedic movie since 2007, and hasn’t been to a movie theater since seeing Top Gun: Forever months after everyone else, is pissed about AMC’s announcement yesterday. The theater company announced that they would be rolling out a pricing tier based on the seats that you purchase. They go as followed,

  • Standard Sightline: The most common seats are available for the traditional ticket price.
  • Value Sightline: Seats in the front row, as well as select ADA seats, are available at a lower price than Standard Sightline seats. Value Sightline pricing is available only to AMC Stubs members, including the free tier membership (AMC Insider).
  • Preferred Sightline: These seats are typically in the middle of the auditorium and are priced higher than Standard Sightline seats. AMC Stubs A-List members may make reservations in the Preferred Sightline Section at no additional cost.

His days of being a cinema buff are behind him, but that didn’t stop the generator of Q101’s Brian & Justin from popping off to the Q101 Digital Team, “This isn’t how things used to be. This is BS! It’s surge pricing all over again, and before you know it it’ll be $200 to sit in the middle seat.”

Despite his regular fiscal mismanagement, Haddad does make a good point in the fact that this is yet another instance in which consumers are getting screwed by a major media company.

“Sightline” applies to all showtimes after 4 p.m. It won’t be in effect for Discount Tuesday. The new pricing system has already launched in select markets and will roll out nationally by the end of 2023.

Do the ticket prices to see Lebron James break the scoring record prove that he’s the GOAT?

Lebron James is closing in on greatness. At the time of this writing, he sits a mere 36 points away from breaking the all-time scoring record that is currently held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. His next two opportunities to break the record will come at home vs. the Thunder on Tuesday and against the former world champion Bucks on Thursday, both of which will be nationally broadcasted games on TNT. Tickets to the Thunder game are $284,50% higher than the team’s season average, according to ticket retailer StubHub.

Courtside tickets for Tuesday’s game cost around $48,403 and Thursday’s an eye-watering $68,995, according to retailer TickPick.

James will pass the scoring record with 38,388 points. For reference, Michael Jordan sits fifth all-time with 32,292 points.

The Lakers currently sit at 25-29 and are two games out of the Western Conference Play-In Tournament, but hey, this is cool, too.
