Tough to get through when you don’t really know the show yet, but still it had promise. Esquire digs a little deeper on why HBO decide to bail on “Vinyl” HERE.

The Broadway musical sensation Hamilton is coming to Chicago and the line out in front of the Private Bank Theater today in the Loop today proved it’s something people really, really, really really want. ABC7 reported today that at some point the line to get tickets was nearly 4 city blocks wrong on a sweaty hot summer day. Tickets went on sale Tuesday at 10am. If you don’t believe us, check out this on-site video from Youtuber Emir Yonzon.
As for the scene overall, people were camped out over night outside the theater off State Street. One person quoted in an article from the Sun Times arrived at 5am and was not able to purchse tickets until 2pm. Some theater fanatics drove in from Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, and far away suburbs to get in line to buy tickets to the Tony Award winning show that mixes history and hip hop.
And with this much demand, the resale price for Hamilton tickets is going to make people decide between getting a loan for college or getting a loan to go to see this musical. Several sources are reporting that some tickets are already being priced at $8,000 in online marketplaces. This enormous price tag hit the web just minutes after tickets went on sale this morning. And of course, social media was filled with people complaining about long wait times to purchase tickets online for the limited run beginning later this year.
At least another musical theater hot spot in town had a sense of humor about the Hamilton mania, Lyric Opera tweeted this delightful pic of their marquee.
Thanks to Bottle and Bottega for helping us paint with Young the Giant! Some creative guys on the stage and on the canvas. Also keep a look out for a “happy trees” enthusiast.
Acclaimed comedian and all-around great dude Hannibal Buress has been cast in the upcoming ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ according to a report today by Variety. The Chicago-based comic’s role in the super-hero epic is not yet known, but the in-the-know nerds of Nerdist speculate that Buress could be playing Robbie Robertson, a member of the Daily Bugle staff where Spider-Man/Peter Parker works as a photographer.
Outside of Tom Holland playing the new Spidey, the cast will also include Zendaya, Tony Revolori, Kenneth Choi, and Donald Glover. The ever gorgeous Marissa Tomei will play Parker’s Aunt May. For a while it’s been believed that Michael Keaton (yes, Tim Burton’s Batman?!) would play the role of the Vulture in this film, but it has yet to be confirmed in any official capacity. Robert Downey Jr. is reported to make an appearance as Iron Man/Tony Stark. The new Spider-Man was introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ where he teamed with Iron Man.
‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ is due in theaters next summer on July 7, 2017.
If you are not familiar with Buress, um …WHY NOT?! Don’t worry get into his comedy with his new special on Netflix called ‘Comedy Camisado’ or catch him streaming in episodes of ‘Broad City’ and ‘The Eric Andre Show’ on Hulu. If that is not enough, catch Hanibal’s adventures at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the out-late-joking-loudly documentary ‘Hanibal Takes Edinburgh’ on Netflix. AND..YES more, you can catch episodes of his Comedy Central series ‘Why? with Hanibal Buress’.
Hanibal jokes about coming back to Chicago and gambling on sports.
Being at a baseball game is hard enough, especially when you are trying to eat your food, watch the game, and take care of your sleeping child all at once. Last week at a Philadelphia Phillies baseball game, a father defied all odds when a foul ball came his way. Not only did he catch the foul ball, but he was also able to keep eating his food and make sure his daughter enjoyed her nap all in one swift motion. Check out the video below to see the incredible catch!
