Ryan Harding, drummer for Local H, posted this video for the first recording of The Misanthrope made by Hayden Scott, drummer for Filter, using his compiled footage from their tour together in 2014.
I love this band, I love this song and this footage is awesome since Chicago didn’t get a Local H, Helmet, Filter tour date that year.
But we did get Local H at PIQNIQ…
And some shakey footage of The One With Kid shot by James Gwynn atĀ PIQNIQ:
The boys are on break from tour at the moment… will we get another Scott Lucas Lollapalooza drop by?
We shall see. Ā See you in Grant Park! Ā <3 @laurenoneil
Double Dare returned for one day only at Comic-Con last week and it looked as awesome as ever! Nerdist had someone actually take part in the game. Here’s some video of the experience.
In case you need more proof that the 90’s are returning; Daniel Stern (Marv from Home Alone)Ā is still screaming about spiders. Looks like he caugt a BIG on in his garage.
Not bad. But, as far as screams go, this one is pretty high on the list…
The highlight of summer 2016 hasnāt been any blockbuster movie, at least so far. Nope, itās the pleasant surprise that isĀ the new Netflix series Stranger Things, which dropped its eight-episode first season on July 15. The horror/mystery series and Amblin throwback, which stars Winona Ryder and Matthew Modine, and is set in 1983, is the story of what happens in a small Indiana town when a little boy suddenly goes missing. This mystery eventually leads into an even larger, far more bizarre one. (MORE HERE)

Catching up on what I missed over the last week, and some Christian ministry twitter posted this over the weekend:
P.S. some of the reply comments are gold
I’m not sure if they are saying Thom Yorke ISĀ Satan or that Thom Yorke is a slave of Satan but I really hope there is some kind of Radiohead vs Satan rock off Pick of Destiny style showdown at Lollapalooza Saturday night.
P.P.S. there are naughty words in this video if you are new to Tenacious D
P.P.P.S. If you need Lolla tickets we are blowing them out all week, cheat sheet HERE
In more Satanic news, Thom’s new 45-minute “Radiohead Bedtime Mix” Ā includes his live solo version of āBloomā from the Pathway to Paris charity concert last yearĀ HERE
Looks like “Drunk History” on Comedy Central will be showing some love to alternative artists. Dave grohl, Billie Joe Armstrong and Ben Folds are all in for season four of the show! The new season premieres September 27th!
Let’s look all the exciting trailers and teaser videos coming out of SDCC. It’s like going to Comic Con without having to diet to fit into a Batman costume, travel to Californi Ā orĀ waiting in all the lines for celebrity autographs, or it’s nothing like that at all. Who cares, let’s dig in here.
The superhero goodies keeping out of this year’s San Diego Comic Con with the release of the teaser for upcoming Marvel series ‘Luke Cage’. It shows off there mega-strong Ā Cage Ā storming through thug’s headquater. wrapping a car door around a foe, and ripping through a wall like it was a bag of potato chips. It’s just super-powered fun that shows off this cool-under-fire character who you may remember as Jessica Jone’s love interest in the last year’s first Marvel series on Netflix. For those attending SDCC, this Cage trailer is getting rave reviews and some are calling the best trailer to be rolled at this year’s Con.
Now Cage may not be the most popular superhero, so here is WatchMojo to exclaim in nerdtastic introduction to the ‘Hero for Hire’ ‘Power Man’ Luke Cage and how he came to be.
A long time associate in crime-fighting the Iron Fist is also getting the upgrade from the comic pages to a Netflix series, the Iron Fist. This teaser has less footage but lays out the origin for this abandoned kid turned martial art master who comes back to NYC for revenge. It does not elicit the ‘feels’ that the Cage trailer did, but it certainly seems like a character you can build on.
Much like the Marvel films of a few years ago, these two series will play together to form the Defenders, a team series which will also include other Marvel featured on Netflix with Daredevil and Jessica Jones. So yet another reason that Netflix is taking over your life, and also this incredible thing that may change Netflix in a big way.
And just a few hours since being uploaded after presentation at SDCC, DC gets it’s hat in the superhero game with a engaging trailer for Wonder Woman, who is easily the most beloved female hero in all of comics. Played by Gal Gadot and featured in the recent ‘Batman v Superman’, this movie will show Wonder Woman’s origin while retaining her fierce abiliy to take down anyone in her way. This looks legit. If you know a female friend whose into more female-focused fantasy/sci-fiĀ shows like ‘Vampire Diaries’, get them to see this.
Right now a ton of movie and comic fans just typed the words ‘OMG’ online while they watched this teaser for Justice League which was especially prepared for SDCC. This footage was not announced in advance so it benefits from being a huge surprise. In it Bruce Wayne/Batman goes on the hunt for ‘warriors’ to take on an impending threat. Cut to the DC Cinematic debuts of the Flash (different from the CW TV show) and Aquaman who apparently likes drinks whiskey while he controls fish with his mind. It strikes that same ‘they are all together’ tone that Avengers gave fans some years ago, let’s just hope it can deliver on it’s promise.
Last month Warner Bros Studios released a synopsis of ‘Justice League’:Ā āFueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Supermanās selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes ā Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, and the Flash ā it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.ā
With entertainment heaven San Diego Comic Con going down this week, expect a LOT of cool new trailers and teases for your favorite scifi/fantasy/superhero shows to hit the web. The first big one is a teaser for next year’s big Netflix series, Marvel’s The Defenders. This series will weave together the stories of two current Netflix shows Jessica Jones and Daredevil with two new heroes who all form one team to defend New York City. The use of the provocative lyrics of Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain really hits an exciting tone here. @kevkellam
Michael Jordan authored so many winning moments at the United Center. Could a loss for his current franchise’s city provide an opportunity for the Bulls arena to mark a significant first?
The NBA’s historic decision Thursday to pull the February 2017 All-Star Game from Charlotte because of North Carolina’s anti-LGBT legislation has created a venue void.
And while Yahoo Sports reported that New Orleans has emerged as the front-runner to land the 2017 game, the league is considering Chicago among several potential options.
The Bulls last hosted an All-Star Game in 1988 at the Chicago Stadium, with Jordan winning a memorable dunk contest against Dominique Wilkins and earning MVP honors during the game. Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf and son Michael, the team’s president and chief operating officer, have stated their lack of desire to host the game at the United Center out of respect for season ticket holders, who mostly get displaced when the league takes over the venue. (MORE HERE)
This would be an incredible opportunity!! Maybe other cities should select a representive to play a game of HORSE. The winner gets the ALL STAR GAME!! Chicago gets Michael Jordan by default OBVIOUSLY!!Ā – marconi
