So…we saw this, so you have to now.
Does anyone else thinks he looks like Brian? Is this what he does now that Harper is around? Really makes you think.
If you are the victim of a strong-armed robbery, don’t expect your bank to step in to assist you. Colin Johnson, a 24-year-old in Lakeview, learned that hard way that Citibank would be of no assistance after his money and phone were taken from him last August. The thieves immediately went into his phone and drained his bank account through Zelle. He lost $11,000 by the time things were done.
The bank declined Johnson’s requests for a refund and declined his appeals. When Johnson got in touch with them over his money, they suggested, “You may wish to reach out to the recipient directly to resolve this matter.”
Only one issue with that, Johnson was, you know, robbed, and didn’t know the thieves personally.
Johnson said he’s still waiting on a small portion of refunds from Citibank, but the majority of what he lost is now back in his savings account.
Mice and men are feeling the effects of Big Soda. A series of tests showed that adult male mice had larger testicles and higher testosterone after consuming both Coke and Pepsi. This goes against the long-prevailing thought that sugary drinks lower your fertility.
Experts are urging men to not run out and drink lots of Coke or Pepsi. Soda can still lead to obesity, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and tooth decay.
According to the study, “One group of 30 male mice was kept in a cage, and their water bottle was filled with 50 percent Pepsi mixed with tap water. Another 30 mice were kept in a different cage and given pure Pepsi.”
After a 15-day study, the mass of the mice’s testicles was significantly higher in the groups that drank Coke and 100% Pepsi, compared to the 50% Pepsi and control groups.
I don’t even recognize this country anymore.
A new Florida bill would make it illegal to let a dog be in a driver’s lap or stick their head out of a window of a moving car. The bill would require dogs to be secured in a crate while in a vehicle on public roadways, be restrained with a safety harness or seat belt other than a neck restraint, or be under the physical control of someone other than the driver while in a car.
Should the bill pass, it will go into effect onto October 1.
Every once in awhile, Brian & Justin’s DM box gets filled to the brim with top notch Karen’s. Instead of riffling through these one-by-one, it’s easier if we unload them all at once in a Karen Competition.

Tony Hawk bought the original version of the skateboard, which features the artwork for Iron Maiden’s album ‘The Killers’, at an auction last year. Hand-painted by Cobain back in 1985, Hawk went about tracing the skateboard’s authenticity. Yesterday (February 20), Hawk released a series of the “unicorn” skateboards as well as prints/stickers of the design. Proceeds going toward raising awareness for mental health and for groups building skate parks.
Legislation requiring Illinois employers to give workers time off based on hours worked, to be used for any reason, is ready for action by Gov. J.B. Pritzker, who said he will sign it. While most modern nations already have laws like this, only Maine and Nevada offer guaranteed paid vacation. This law will not require employees to disclose why they need time off, only that they follow the procedures in place by their employer to ask for the time off.
Seasonal workers such as lifeguards will be exempt, as will federal employees or college students who work non-full-time, temporary jobs for their university.
The legislation, if passed, would go into action on January 1, 2024. Employees will garner one hour of paid leave for every 40 hours worked up to 40 hours total, although the employer may offer more. Employees can start using the time once they have worked for 90 days.
If you want to make money, go into engineering.
A New York Federal Reserve story revealed that chemical engineers make the most money coming out of college, averaging $75,000 a few years out of school. On the other end of the spectrum, theology and religion make only half of that, coming in around $36,000 out of school.

On Saturday night, police responded to an incident on the 100 block of South Halsted Street after a car lost control and drove into a pole before catching fire. Three people were pronounced dead at the scene with two of them being Jose Manuel Velazquez and Jonal Gutierrez, both of whom were 18-years-old and graduates of East Aurora High School.
Chicago police said one person is being questioned in connection to this incident.
Our thoughts go out to the family and friends involved in this tragedy.
Chicago is working at the office more than any other major city. Per NBC 5, for the first time since the pandemic hit during March 2020, 50% of all Chicago workers are back doing their job from an office. Pre-pandemic, occupancy percentages were more than 90 percent before dropping to rates in the teens in the first year of the pandemic. They now sit around 41%.

Super Bowl MVP or baseball burnout? The world may never know.
Your doctor isn’t stoked about your downstairs growth. A new study shows that the penis has gotten bigger over the last quarter-century, and that is raising red flags in the medical community. Researchers fear that the long dongs could be due to unhealthy habits, like binging junk food or being mostly sedentary, or even pollution.
The growth is not minimal, either. Research shows that growth is up 24% since the 90’s, bringing the length of the average erect penis from 4.8 inches to 6 inches.
Chemical exposure from pesticides or hygiene products, he continued, could be one of the various factors causing the quick growth.
You know what they say about Batavia? They do things big there.
Construction has begun on The Super EMAX Auditorium, which will be the largest movie theater screen in the state by the time its done. After a wind delay halted the building process on Wednesday, officials still say they are confident that the work will be completed by June.
Brian promises to buy everyone a ticket to go see a movie there, just like he did with Top Gun II…oh wait.
Love can be a strange thing sometimes. Terms like “I love you so much it’s killing me” and I love you to death” certainly ring a bell when it comes to this couple, who had been together for 57 years, despite an assassination attempt many years ago.
As the couple discusses in this news clip, the assassination was merely an overreaction and that the wife “wasn’t thinking straight”.
The husband, Tony, has 50 Cent-like stories now about surviving gunshot wounds to the head and chest.
We aren’t sure if we should be inspired or terrified by this couple’s willingness to stick together.
A reward of up to $50k is being offered to the person or persons that lead to the arrest and conviction of a suspect involved in two armed robberies of a USPS letter carrier in Chicago. The first robbery took place on January 17 on N. Sayre Ave in the Galewood neighborhood. The second attack occurred an hour later in the vicinity of 1758 N. New England Ave.
The suspect fled the second attack in a small white SUV with a Florida license plate.
He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Ed Berthold has been bowling for nearly his entire life. Currently 103, he’s double the age of his usual competition. Berthold was a bomber pilot in WWII who lost his father to tuberculosis at a young age. His father was only 39 when he passed. Now, nearly three times older than his father was, Berthold hits up his local bowling alley every day.
Allegedly, Berthold likes to think about the happy times in his life while bowling, like when he’d take the heads of his WWII enemies and bowl them the makeshift lanes he created in Iceland.
