The idea for the world’s first craft beer hotel has been hatched.
BrewDog, the Scottish magic makers who recently settled stateside, want to add on to their facility in Columbus, Ohio — with a 50-room hotel and sour beer production facility.
Among the amenities being offered at The Doghouse? Beer fridges in each room — (including the shower!) — spa treatments that include “malted barley massages” and “hop oil pedicures,” IPA taps in rooms, and windows that look directly on to the brewery.
To the project jumpstarted, BrewDog launched a crowdsourcing effort that has already raised over $100,000. They hope to complete the project in 2018.
Frankly, it’s beer — so it’s worth every penny.
Oh, and if you missed our little celebration of beer this weekend — Windy City Brewhaha — check out my Saturday night below. [eric]
Perfectly timed with the $85 million dollar opening weekend for Logan, Ryan Reynolds had his own success in releasing a teaser trailer for Deadpool 2 — over 13 million hits in the last 24 hours. And naturally, a little fun is poked at Hugh Jackman’s iconic character – plus a new twist on an old cameo. Here it is (NSFW, language, violence, situations…DUH):
Sadly, you have about a year to wait for the whole enchilada. The sequel hits theaters March 2018. — [eric]
Usually, you want to duck when a flying bat comes your way at a baseball game, but that isn’t what happened during a Mets Spring game this past week! Check out the video below to see one player just grab the bat out of midair!
If you thought driving on 290, 294, 90/94, or 55 was bad, check this video out! I would for sure pass on this route!

As we start to 3D-print everything — including houses, of all things — it’s pretty impressive that a company built one in just 24 hours.
Located in Russia, this 400-square-foot home (37 square meters) was built in just a day, at a cost of just over $10,000.
3D-printing company Apis Cor built the house using a mobile printer on-site. (MORE HERE)

The award-winning, skillet-baked mac and cheese at AMK is worth every calorie. Cloaked in a melty, jalapeno and bacon-stippled mix of havarti, fontina, provolone, Asiago and Gouda, it’s topped with more cheese and showered with breadcrumbs. “Perfection” is the first word that comes to mind.
AMK is at 1954 W. Armitage Ave.
Mindy’s Hot Chocolate
Featuring a lush mix of Gruyère, American and cheddar cheeses, Hot Chocolate serves an impressive rendition that’s so saucy you’d benefit from a spoon. Use yours to break open the crackly, browned top and scoop up the molten goodness within. Then, and ask for some bread to sop up the remains.
Mindy’s Hot Chocolate is at 1747 N. Damen Ave.
For an especially decadent version of mac and cheese, head to elegant Maple & Ash. Served in a cast-iron dish, the noodles are swathed in a blend of Gruyère, mascarpone, raclette and comté, all tied together with creamy béchamel, nuggets of salty bacon and a breadcrumb topping.
Maple & Ash is at 8 W. Maple St.
YESSSSSS!!!!
If you’re venturing out this weekend, these are the spots you MUST check out. You won’t be disappointed. – Kelly Rizzo
Jaden Smith sat down with Vanity Fair to read through a number of bizarre, but true facts. Did you know 50 percent of human DNA is shared with a banana? Did you know sharks have been around longer than trees? Did you know it potentially rains diamonds on Saturn and Jupiter? Jaden Smith does. Of course he does.

A new photo is going around that shows a bowl of strawberries and it asks a simple question: Are they red?
The correct answer is no. All reds have allegedly been stripped out of the picture, so it’s all different grays. But we THINK they’re red and we see red, because they’re strawberries. I’m confused. READ MORE

Anyone who has been hanging out on the Big Star patio for a few years may remember the Sonoran hot dog, which quickly became a favorite on the menu but was removed for a few years. Now, it’s back, but just for a day.
In case you’ve forgotten, the Sonoran hot dog is a Vienna Beef dog wrapped in bacon and topped with pinto beans, lime mayo, mustard, serrano sauce, tomato and onions on a bolillo roll. It’s big, positively covered in sauce and an absolute must-get for just $7 (but be prepared to wait for this one). You can only get it next Tuesday, March 7 from 11:30am–dinner service, as long as supplies last. (MORE HERE)
I mean normally my go-to is the “Walk-n-Taco” at Big Star but I GUESS I could sacrifice it…WHAT?? FOR ONE DAY!!! WHY!!!?? I DON’T WANT TO WAIT!!
