David Letterman set to induct Pearl Jam into Rock Hall of Fame

One of the greatest TV show hosts of the last 30 years is going to induct one of the best rock bands of the last 30 years into the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame. Late NIght comedy icon David Letterman is set to induct Pearl Jam into the Rock HoF on Friday in Brooklyn with the news confirmed yesterday after rock legend Neil Young had to back out due to illness. Pearl Jam and Letterman have had a long love affair with the band appearing on his CBS show several times. The induction ceremony this year will be broadcast on HBO and their streaming channels

Pearl Jam certainly is deserving of the honor with millions of albums sold, thousands of impressions felt at countless shows, and numerous songs that will outlive the band itself. That magic was present when I caught their transcendent shows last August which had some very memorable moments like this certain Chicago Bulls legends making an appearance.

Check out PJ’s Eddie Vedder playing with the Late NIght band on during Letterman’s final run of shows.

PJ played ‘Why Go’ on Letterman in 2006 from the famed Ed Sullivan Theater, made famous by the Beatles.

A Day To Remember

It was 23 years ago today when we learned that Kurt Cobain had passed away.  I can still remember where I was.  My musical career had just begun and I was with my bandmates in a motel in Tuscan, AZ.  We heard the news and we just felt gutted, spending the rest of the day trying to make sense of the loss.  Nirvana only released music for 5 years but the good news is, that music continues to touch and inspire new generations of music lovers.  That’s the power of music.  Of Kurt’s music.  R.I.P. This year’s streaming offering will allow for viewers to set preferences for specific sets that will automatically switch them over to a channel with their chosen artist.

Last year’s Coachella stream was a really fun online experience. I recall staying up quite late to catch Silversun Pickups thrill it and kill it in the hot dusty valley air, while sat at home on the couch enjoying my AC. It was a quality stream that also feature artists interviews and coverage of non-music revelry of the fest.

Last month, Brian and Lou sent one lucky winner to Coachella 2017 except there was one catch: he had to get the 101WKQX logo tattooed on him. He was good sport with

‘Invader ZIM’ returns with TV movie on Nickelodeon

‘Invader Zim’ will return and try to conqueror the world in a TV movie for Nickolodeon. Zim and his robot sidekick Gir who failed continuously in their nefarious plots to takeover the world with hilarious dark results in the cult cartoon series which debuted in 2001. The return movie will feature the main voice cast, and is not the first Nicktoon from the past to get a special reboot as ‘Hey Arnold: The Jungle Movie’ will be released later this year and a ‘Rocko’s Modern Life’ special currently in production. So if you watch Nick back in day before ‘SpongeBob’ had his Sqaurepants, you must be freaking out over this. The Invader Zim return movie will air in 2018. This is certainly a choice revamp of nostalgia and plays off all those Hot Topic t-shirts we saw floating around in the mid-2000’s. The series stayed out there by being re-aired on Nickolodeon’s Nicktoons Network along with being released DVD. ‘Zim’ is also available on several video services including Hulu.

If you are asking yourself “why is this show coming back since I never heard of it?” Check out this Channel Frederator look back on the show’s brief yet exciting run.

Enjoy yourself.  We all die someday anyway.
