The Cat Island! It’s a small fishing island off the coast of Japan called Tashirojima, and it has been taken over by Cats….yes, it’s so weird. It’s also not the only cat island in Japan. This must smell great….really great.
This informative travel video documents the oddball fun of interacting with the cats who get fed by tourists who visit the ‘cat shrine’. You also realize that a majority of the cats on the island are strays and simply can not get the care they may need.

The Verge continues to make the coolest and most thought provoking videos that bring fantasy and science together. Such is the case with their intriguing new video that digs into the idea of how monsters in big blockbuster movies like ‘Kong: Skull Island’ and ‘Jurassic Park’, would sound like if we could actually hear them in real life. This video is just so well researched and features scientific recreations that might be more accurate than the glitzier audible gems that Hollywoof studios would produce to represent a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
One of the greatest tough men in pro hockey history has been remembered once again in very fitting fashion. Former Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings star Bob Probert had his ashes spread by his wife, Dani in the penalty box this past Sunday during the Wing’s final game in the famed Joe Louis Arena. Probert retired from the NHL with the Hawks in 2002, and passed away from a heart attack in 2010. Probert became known as one of the most intimidating enforcers in NHL history, logging 3,300 minutes in penalty boxes in his 16 season career in the league. With fighting in pro hockey not nearly as common as it once was, Probert was a regular guardian for his team and became feared for his ability to deck out opponents night after night.
“I don’t think there is any doubt, in his era he came as tough as there was,” said Blackhawks teammate Eddie Olczyk in a 2010 interview with NHL.com. “He was tough as nails. You stayed well clear of him when he was on the ice and when you were on his team you knew he had your back. He knew his role and he was tough. He was tough.”
The Blackhawks start another campaign for the Stanley Cup on Thursday against the Nashville Predators in the first round of the playoffs.

The CEO of Chinese electronics maker Huawei raised eyebrows this week when he publicly trashed smartwatches. “I am always confused as to what smartwatches are for when we have smartphones,” Eric Xu Zhijun said, adding that he would never ever wear one himself — despite the fact that his own company makes them. That may strike some as cold but his words should serve as a much-needed reality check to anyone still laboring under the delusion that they can persuade the general populace that wearing tiny touch displays on their wrists is the way of the future. I don’t have a smartwatch but I used to wear watches all the time. Shoes and watches were my thing for a long time (I still wear shoes). Now I have my phone so I don’t really need a watch. I do like smart watches though. I don’t think they ever needed to be the NEXT BIG THING. It would be kind of cool if there were gadgets available that didn’t need to be bigger than the iPad to exist. Or at least stay relevant enough until after Father’s Day. My dad doesn’t need any more golf clubs or another tie!!

If you are at home and you hear loud emergency alarm ringing outside, you would get worried a bit, right? Now think if this happened at midnight and lasted for over 90 minutes, but there is no immediate tornado or other danger that would prompt the Emergency Alert System. Still scary, and it really happened last Friday in Dallas,Texas. It was a big hack, showing how powerful it can be to disrupt the infrastructure of a city.
In total, 156 alarms were activated with emergency officials finally able to shut the system down after it ran for over 90 minutes until around 1:20 AM local time after It caused a lot of stress with no real danger prompting the system to turn on. This video below shows the uneasy feeling people had in Dallas as all of this was going on, though it does not seem like it was panic in the streets.
Arstechnica.com reported more details on the hack with evidence towards no computer intrusion but rather an illegal pirate radio segment that set it all off. There is still no clear idea who is responsible, but there is likely a lot of people taking credit it for online. Dallas law enforcement officials believe the hack came from the local area.
I don’t want to believe this. TMZ is reporting that Charlie Murphy has passed away at the age of 57 after a battle with Leukemia.
“According to Charlie’s manager, he died from leukemia Wednesday morning in a NYC hospital. He’d been going undergoing chemotherapy.
Family members tell us they’re absolutely shocked because they thought he was getting better.”
