Nintendo might be releasing a mini-Super NES in time for Christmas

(from avclub.com)

Last week, Nintendo broke the news that it had officially discontinued the NES Classic Edition, its super popular, super hard-to-find miniature NES with built-in games. Now, Eurogamer has reported that the Japanese gamemaker is getting ready to take the next logical step in its never-ending quest to resell you your childhood: a Super NES Classic Edition. According to Eurogamer’s sources, this mini-SNES is set to launch in time for Christmas 2017 and will sport the same simple plug-and-play setup as the NES Classic Edition. There was no word on how many games from the Super NES’ incredible library might be packed in or which games are slated to make the cut. With a library of releases this groundbreaking and beloved, it’s going to be quite the challenge to put together a satisfying list, even if Nintendo holds to the 30-game standard established with the NES Classic Edition. Mozzarella Sticks via Roots Pizza

Fried Mozzarella Sticks at Roots Handmade Pizza
Fried mozzarella sticks are a pretty ubiquitous offering. But at Roots Handmade Pizza, these anything-but-ordinary fried logs contain oozy, house-made mozzarella that’s cloaked in crackly, garlic-herbed breadcrumbs. Although you may be tempted to make it a double, don’t overlook the Quad City-style pies.

Roots Handmade Pizza is located at 1924 W. Chicago Ave. and at 2200 W. Lawrence Ave.

Ramen Burger at Tokio Pub

Sometimes you have a taste for a burger. Other times, nothing but a ramen burger will do. At Shaw’s adjunct Tokio Pub, a crispy noodle-based hand-held cradles a soy molasses-sauced beef patty, bitter mizuna greens and green onion. Go for broke and get a ginger mojito or yuzu margarita to wash it down.

Tokio Pub is at The Streets of Woodfield, 1900 E. Higgins Rd., #2, Schaumburg.

Riot Fest Announces Lineup: Nine Inch Nails, Queens Of The Stone Age, Paramore, TV on the Radio and more

(from chicagoist)

Riot Fest just released their initial line up and, sure enough, it’s a doozy. The Chicago festival with strong DIY roots continues to expand its offerings beyond “traditional” punk rock with one of its most musically diverse collection of acts to date. The bold type big news is that this year’s headliners include heavy hitters like Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age, as well as the re-formation of seminal ‘90s emo group Jawbreaker. New Order, Paramore, M.I.A. and the Rage Against The Machine-meets-Public Enemy supergroup Prophets Of Rage are other notable acts near the top of the bill. And Chicago industrial titans Ministry will be making their Riot Fest debut, and we’re sure that the volume and aggression of that group’s set will blow minds and eardrums. And would it be crazy to hope for Nine Inch Nail’s Trent Reznor to join Ministry’s Al Jourgensen to perform any of the duo’s collaborations from previous years? Probably, but we can hope.
