Mike Shinoda received the first set and unboxes it for the first time from his home studio in the video below. This thing features so much incredible stuff from their Meteora era back in 2003, from unheard demos like recently-released single ‘Lost’ that you’ve heard on Q101, to other rarities, several live albums (in fact, as Mike points out, “the tracklisting fills the entire back of the box.”) There’s also new artwork, an accompanying 40-page book, a Litho created by the street artist on the original album cover, stickers and more.
As he lays the box set contents out in front of him, Mike says, “We put a lot of love into collecting all this stuff and polishing it up for you guys, so I hope you enjoy it.” <3 Lauren
Lonely? Indecisive? Attention-hungry? If you check “yes” to any of those boxes, it’s time to apply for ‘Married at First Sight’.

The once-leader in adult-oriented smut has made a pivot and is embracing the digital age. Playboy has relaunched in digital form and is looking for aspiring Bunnies to join their platform in an effort to fight back against the dominance of OnlyFans. The company’s Chief Branding Officer noted, “We’re laser-focused on building the safest and most lucrative and engaging creator platform in the world.”
Don’t forget to come up for air, pal.
One major difference between OnlyFans and Playboy’s new approach towards the digital landscape is that while anyone can sign up to become an OnlyFans creator, Playboy creators have to apply and be accepted by the the publication’s editorial team.
The platform will allow nudity, which its creators view as a form of art and free expression, but explicit content and pornography will not be allowed.
The e-cigarette maker JUUL is under fire for marketing their products towards children and now they’re being forced to pay. Stemming from a 2020 lawsuit, the company now owes the city of Chicago $23.8 million to settle a lawsuit. The city claims the company violated ordinances by, “engaging in a widespread marketing campaign that targeted minors and by selling JUUL products without implementing strict age verification requirements.”
JUUL agreed to pay $2.8 million within 30 days and the rest of the settlement in the next year, according to the city. That money will go towards reducing youth vaping through education, local policies, and more.
Zuckerberg is at it again. In a message to his employees earlier this week, the tech wunderkind noted that the company would be laying off 10,000 employees and not filling the vacancy of 5,000 open positions. In a posted, he noted, “Over the next couple of months, org leaders will announce restructuring plans focused on flattening our orgs, canceling lower priority projects, and reducing our hiring rates.”
Unrelated, here’s a graph of the most profitable companies in the world, per day. You’ll notice Facebook is on this list. They make approximately $701 per second, and $60,580,822 per day.
Our thoughts go out to those who have lost their jobs by way of conglomerate budget cuts.
A group of female students in Naperville are looking to make history. The group appears to have built the fastest truck in America, and soon they’ll be able to put it to the test, as they are headed to Beeville, Texas to compete in the fastest land speed race in the country. They are looking to eclipse 207mph in a Texas Mile.
The Texas Mile drops the green flag on March 24.
A cemetery in Marshalltown, Iowa has taken out an ad after their goose, Blossom, was “out of sorts” following the death of her mate, Bud. The two geese met in the same pond at the cemetery, but after Bud left us in 2022, the general manager noticed Blossom acting differently.
The general manager took to her social media to look for a mate for Blossom, saying “lonely, widowed domestic goose…life partner for companionship and occasional shenanigans.”
Little did she know, people nearby, Deb and Randy Hoyt (perfect names for empathetic goose owners) owned a widower goose named Frankie. Blossom and Frankie met, became attached at the hip, and have been like that ever since.
The band now owns Furnace Record Pressing in Alexandria, Virginia. Furnace has already produced more than five million pieces of vinyl for the band, working on the box set editions of Kill ‘Em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, …And Justice for All, the Black Album and S&M2. Metallica also intend to help out other record labels and artists with their vinyl releases.
“Furnace has been great to Metallica and more importantly to our fans. This deepened relationship between Metallica and Furnace ensures that fans of vinyl everywhere, particularly our Fifth Members, will have continued access to high quality records in the future.” – James Hetfield
Jack White is also a fan of the move.
Q101 believes in putting Chicago’s best foot forward, but as a city, we’re going to have to take an “L” on this one.
A Chicago man has filed a federal lawsuit claiming that the practice is fraud and companies like Buffalo Wild Wings are duping customers by selling chicken wings that aren’t in fact wings. We’re not sure if he wanted feathers to come with his order or not. What we do know is that he went onto say, “Unbeknownst to plaintiff and other consumers, the products are not wings at all, but instead, slices of chicken breast meat deep-fried like wings,” the lawsuit reads. “Indeed, the products are more akin, in composition, to a chicken nugget rather than a chicken wing.”
Buffalo Wild Wings has not released an official statement, but the company did clap back at the lawsuit on Twitter.
Unfortunately, this does add fuel to the fire for the people who say that boneless wings are “just chicken nuggets”.
I absolutely love Only Murders in the Building and was supremely pleased when new cast members were revealed for the upcoming season: Paul Rudd and Meryl Streep!

The Monday morning news cycle began with the sudden and shocking news that both Silicon Valley Bank and New York-based Signature Bank were now a thing of the past. According to WGN, “U.S. regulators closed the Silicon Valley Bank on Friday after it experienced a traditional bank run, where depositors rushed to withdraw their funds all at once. It is the second largest bank failure in U.S. history, behind only the 2008 failure of Washington Mutual.”
Speaking early Monday morning, the President noted that he’d seek to hold those responsible and pressed for better oversight and regulation of larger banks. He insisted that the brunt of this burden would not be held by the American taxpayer, as well.

Jane’s Addiction has new music for the first time in a decade. While it hasn’t been officially released yet, you can hear the band play it live during a recent show in California.
It’s been 10 years since the group released new music and 12 since the release of their last album, “The Great Escape Artist”. Frontman Perry Farrell has been busy running Lollapalooza and getting the Porno for Pyros gang back together in the interim.
Think about your worst childhood memory: it probably involves a clown. Luckily, the world’s greatest minds have come together to figure out why exactly we fear the makeup-ridden beasts the way that we do. 987 people were polled for a “Fear of Clowns Questionnaire” and after all of the answers were tabulated, this is what science came up with.
Thank you to our friends at Science Alert for providing this incredibly insightful data.
After a series of high-profile train-related disasters in the first quarter of 2023, it doesn’t take a hardened conspiracy theorist to question what’s going on and why these trains are going off the rails. Sources say this is normal, actually, and that train-related accidents are on the decline.
USA Today recently dug into why we’re seeing heightened care about trains and train-related accidents.
Before you start railing against the powers that be, remember, train derailments are more common than you’d think.
