Conan O’Brien is no match for Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman kicks into movie theaters, so Conan O’Brien thinks he can kick…but he can barely get his foot up without cracking a joke. Coco’s best comedy comes from him riffing outside of the studio and this sketch is no different, as he learns combat skills from Amazonian superhero herself Gal Gadot. The fake muscle suit puts it over the moon too.

‘Wonder Woman’ comes out June 2nd.

Here is look at early reviews of the anticipated DCU movie.

Cars stuck in wet cement on Southport Avenue

Summer in Chicago may not feel like it’s here just yet, but when it’s close to summer, it’s really just construction season. These traffic-creating projects are popping up all around the city and the suburbs, and a project on Southport Avenue on the Northside has put some not-to-patient people in an unfortunate situation. The pics made their way around Twitter courtesy of the blog Southport Corridor   show some sad drivers who put their cars two tires deep into wet cement. I mean I would understand if they pulled over and just wrote their name in the wet cement so people remember them but now these pics are on the internet forever. That is just as a permanent as writing your name in cement but it’s not nearly as fun.

This particular construction project on Souhtport between Belmont and Addison has been extended to the end of June. DNAInfo has more.

‘Price is Right’ Supefan wins our heart and wins big

‘The Price is Right’ is one of the best game shows of all time, and it’s still got that instant winner glory but when it’s clear a superfan of the show gets to be on the show….and win, well that’s awesome. It all went down big with a contestant named Ryan who made it clear he’s been watching the show his whole life as he keeps repeating “YEAH!” and “Oh my god!” as he miraculously  got called up to play and then proceeded to win a near maximum amount of $31,000 just a few minutes later. The Penn State student scored the best record on the game show’s classic Plinko challenge. You can not help but root for him during the entire video, it’s like there is Ryan in all of us up there in the game of life.

Custom Drum Kit of Pots & Pans + World-Famous Drummers

(from blog.williams-sonoma.com)

Last year, drummers Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters appeared on BottleRock’s Williams Sonoma Culinary Stage alongside chef Michael Voltaggio in a demo called “Drummers from Another Mother.” When Smith and Hawkins arrived on stage they were surprised to find custom replicas of their own drum kits—created entirely out of pots and pans. They immediately recognized their places on stage, sat down, and began an epic cookware “drum off.” The crowd went wild as the two legendary drummers played and, eventually, as they threw and kicked their drumsets around stage in a rockstar-worthy grand finale. Vicky Cornell’s Beautiful Letter To Chris

To My Sweet Christopher,

You were the best father, husband and son-in-law. Your patience, empathy and love always showed through.

You had always said I saved you, that you wouldn’t be alive if it were not for me. My heart gleamed to see you happy, living and motivated. Excited for life. Doing everything you could to give back. We had the time of our lives in the last decade and I’m sorry, my sweet love, that I did not see what happened to you that night. I’m sorry you were alone, and I know that was not you, my sweet Christopher. Your children know that too, so you can rest in peace.

I’m broken, but I will stand up for you and I will take care of our beautiful babies. I will think of you every minute of every day and I will fight for you. You were right when you said we are soulmates. It has been said that paths that have crossed will cross again, and I know that you will come find me, and I will be here waiting.

I love you more than anyone has ever loved anyone in the history of loving and more than anyone ever will.

Always and forever,
Your Vicky

WEEZIE & her goslings leave Chicago hospital for Lake Michigan

For the past three years, the staff at Weiss Hospital in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood have seen an annual tradition take place. A female geese they have dubbed ‘Weezie’ landed on the roof of the hospital’s six floor parking garage in April for the third year in a row, where she laid her eggs in a nest, and then when ready she waddles the entire adorable parade down six floors and out to their new home, Montrose Harbor. It’s just the cutest thing you will see all day. Enjoy this year’s “Weiss Waddle” captured on video this past week. We wait until Weezie comes back to repeat the cycle next year.

U.K. Airport launches indoor navigation system to help passengers find their way

(from thenextweb.com)

Serving the London region, Gatwick Airport is the UK’s second busiest airport, after London Heathrow. As you’d expect, it’s a gargantuan place, and getting around its two massive terminals can be a nightmare. To ameliorate this, Gatwick has taken the unusual step of installing 2,000 bluetooth-powered beacons that tell passengers where they are in the airport’s two terminals. The beacons are the product of a collaboration with London startup Pointr, and are accurate to three meters — so pretty dang accurate. The first incarnation of the system shows travelers where they are on a digital map, with their location visualized as a blue dot. Gatwick eventually intends to introduce an augmented reality system that guides users with turn-by-turn directions, using real-world visual data. That’s cool, but I just want an app that shows me where all the good food spots are at in the airport, also napping places. I mean if you don’t have those two things you’re just wasting everyone’s time.
