Sinead O’Connor posts video saying she is ‘alone’ and ‘suicidal’ living in a Travelodge

(from independent.co.uk)

Singer Sinead O’Connor has sparked fresh concern over her mental health after posting a Facebook video in which she reveals she has wanted to kill herself for the past two years.

The Irish songwriter, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, took to the social media site for a tearful confessional recording, opening up about how alone she has felt since losing custody of her 13-year-old son.

In the video, posted from the Travelodge in New Jersey where she says she is now living, the 50-year-old said she suffers from three mental illnesses. “I’m all by myself, there’s absolutely nobody in my life.

This makes me sad. She’s had such a struggle. I hope she continues to get the help she needs and doesn’t harm herself.

Disney pulling out of Netflix, to launch it’s own streaming service

Disney is pulling it’s content off Netflix ending and it’s distribution agreement with the video platform, to launch their own digital video service in 2019. The massive entertainment and media company made the news public today in their latest earnings report. They are purchased a 33% stake in the streaming company, BamTech as muscle for it’s new yet-to-be-named video service. The Disney video service and will include the upcoming ‘Toy Story 4’, ‘Frozen 2’ and a lot of new original content. It’s not clear when exactly Disney movies and shows will get yanked off the Net of Flix, but it’s going to happen.

This shows that the TV world is ever changing, and this is going to be a huge change that will directly affect several on-going Marvel series like ‘Daredevil’, ‘Jessica Jones’ and the upcoming ‘Inhumans’ which are owned by Disney. This of course means that Disney’s animated features like ‘Moana’ and others will also be off Netflix soon as well.  In 2012, Netflix made a partnership with Disney which helped continue to make the VOD service to go-to for TV watching. Disney continues to have it’s own Disney Channel on TV cable systems across the country.

Disney is also launching a new ESPN video streaming service in early 2018. The sports platform, which will feature about 10,000 events each year, will have content from the MLB, NHL, MLS, collegiate sports and tennis’ Grand Slam events.

This clearly not good news for Netflix, especially the recent negative financial news that the company is $20 billion dollars in debt. Screen Junkies News breaks down all the info on how Netflix is facing some very harsh challenges with their massive bets.

FOX looking into reviving ‘King of the Hill’

‘King of the Hill’ may be coming back to FOX. Speaking at the Television Critics Association on Tuesday, Fox Television Group chairman and CEO Dana Walden stated the network has had “preliminary conversations” with show creators Greg Daniels and Mike Judge about bringing the Hill family back.

King of the Hill ran for 13 seasons and more than 250 episodes from 1997 to 2009. The series revolved around the middle-class Hill family in Arlen, Texas, and touched on their everyday life and incorporated political humor. With increased political conflicts, it would be interesting where Judge’s conservative Hank Hill would fit into modern comedy climates.

Here is Frederator’s 20 minute dig into the show was developed, all the real life things that inspired the show, and much more.

Liam Gallagher wants to get Oasis back together

The Oasis reunion drama continues today with Liam Gallagher stating once again that he would want see the band reunite but only a specific circumstance with his estranged brother Noel would make it work.

The Manchester singer whose new solo album comes out October 6th, cleared the air during a podcast interview with Rolling Stone.

“The English press seem to think that I’m going ’round giving the fans hope and then in the same breath, or the next interview, shooting them down. All I said the other day on that Beats Radio was before we get back together, if we get ever back together, we’d have to become brothers and friends again. And then I imagine once that happens, and we start hanging out or whatever, and we’re mates, and we’re talking, and we’re each on a nice respectful level, I guess there would be, inevitably, we’d go, ‘F**k it, should we take the f**kin’ band out for a spin, go on tour?’”

Apparently Liam thinks that his brother also wants the reunion.

“I know he [Noel] doesn’t want to be supporting U2 and playing a third of a stadium half-empty when he could do it himself with his brother. I would prefer to be speaking about an Oasis album than a Liam solo album. And I know Noel Gallagher would. We’re better together.”

Liam made headlines this weekend at Lollapalooza in Grant Park, when he abruptly ended his set walking off stage 4 songs in. We saw the whole thing from the media area at Lolla and it was just awkward. Lauren interviewed  ‘Liam’ backstage (sort of) to understand why he walked off.

Chicago is Restaurant City of the Year

Bon Appetit magazine awarded its annual “Restaurant City of the Year” honors to Chicago today. Just one week after four Chicago restaurants landed on the mag’s list of 50 best new restaurants in the country (no other city had more), and fewer than three months after a similarly smitten Conde Nast Traveler named Chicago the Best Restaurant City In America.

“Where other cities fall into soulless trend cycles, Chicago has a way of generating distinctively personal restaurants, writes Julia Kramer, a native Chicagoan and onetime food critic at Time Out Chicago, in Bon Appetit. “So, SF and L.A., this might hurt a little, but here’s all the proof you need that the Midwest is best.”  More from Chicagoist HERE

Amazing honor, but I think “Restaurant City of All Time” is more fitting.  What is your favorite restaurant?  Tell us on facebook.

Have You Seen A Flying Bat-Like Humanoid?

Riot Fest reported two weeks ago that, more than a dozen sightings of a bat-like humanoid have been reported in Chicago this year.

Now three more sightings of large bat-like humanoids have been reported to UFO Clearinghouse. On July 20th, July 27th, and July 29th.

The witness of the July 27th gave this description of the incident, “I was leaving work at about 8:45pm on Thursday night in The Loop as I walked the two blocks to the nearest train station to go home I saw a large batlike creature that was perched on top of one the streetlight poles across the street from the Harold Washington Library. This creature stood about 7 ft tall and was sitting there motionless.”

“This creature had a pair of glowing red eyes that appear to be fixated on something across the street. It stood there for about 6 seconds that’s when I saw a flash from a group of kids on the sidewalk as someone was taking a picture of this thing. It then spread open a large pair of wings flapped them a couple of times and took off into the air. The girls from that group of kids screamed and they all took off running.”
