Green Day came to the Lounge prior to their epic Wrigley Field show this week for an exclusive ‘press conference’ with 101WKQX and contest winners to answer all the big questions about their career, their early roots touring in Chicago, a stripper named Dimitri, what you can’t eat before you go on stage, and so much more. It’s a fun ride into the minds of Billie Joe Armstrong, Tre Cool, and MIke Dirnt with laughs, insight, and joy shared for all.

Green Day will play one of the final Wrigley Field concerts this summer. In addition to taking over the Friendly Confines for an evening, they’re opening a pop-up store in Metro on Wednesday, August 23 and Thursday, August 24 from noon to 6pm each day. Inside the shop, you’ll find a variety of Chicagoed Green Day merch, including plenty of nods to the 2016 World Series champs.

Welp, there is good and bad Stranger Things news.

First, the good: even before season 2 airs, co-creators Ross and Matt Duffer have already confirmed a third season!  More HERE

Now the bad… they are already planning the end of the beloved show.  “We’re thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out,” says Ross. By then, the original band of adorable preteens will be ready for college. “We just have to keep adjusting the story,” says Matt. “Though I don’t know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year.”  More from vulture.com HERE.

Green Day is the band that rules Chicago this week with huge Wrigley Field show tomorrow and a live streaming press conference today on the 101WKQX Facebook page. They are Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Famers, have sold millions of albums, played to hundred of thousands all over the world, and they are still going with a vibrant energy that shows their time at the top of the alternative mountain is far from over.

Guitarist/singer Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tre Cool have been hustling to get they are today at the ‘stadium level’ shared by top tier bands like Foo Fighters and Coldplay, with enduring focus to political activism, emotional truth, and constant dedication delivering on being so much more ‘just another punk band’.

The Powerball jackpot climbs higher and higher, soaring to an estimated $700 million for the next drawing scheduled tonight.

The one-time cash option is also set at $443 million by the multi-state lottery game that is played in 44 states, including both Kentucky and Indiana. The final jackpot and cash option will be set just before the late Wednesday evening drawing and be based on ticket sales. READ MORE
