Yes, this is real.
To celebrate 900,000 subscribers on their Youtube channel, Niki and Brie the Bella Twins got Niki’s fiance and all around WWE superhero John Cean to do something we did not expect: perform a soft and intimate piano cover of the the Pixis alt-classic ‘Where is My Mind?’. Yes, the man is 16-time World Champion in the ring whose body-slammed giants and ran from explosions in action movies, and here is in a nice suit softly strumming the tune of possibly best song about introspecting one’s own emotions. You can’t see him in the ring, but you can see this a pretty cool video.
Here is the Pixies performing this wonderful song on tour in 2011. If you are not super familiar with this band but the song rings a bell, you may remember it from it being featured in the film ‘Fight Club’.
Tune in at 9:30 PM Chicago time to watch Linkin Park & Friends Celebrate Life in Honor of Chester Bennington [LIVE]

You may have noticed something peculiar on Facebook this morning: There’s an increasing number of absurd events revolving around our city’s favorite reflective landmark, the Bean. We’re not sure what spurred the creation of these events (other than the fact that the Bean is a central meeting place that nearly everyone is aware of), but it’s quickly become a meme… and we’re enjoying it. Last year, Brand New teased that they would break up in 2018, and on stage earlier this week, they added more fuel to that fire. AltPress points to a video where Jesse Lacey says, “We’re gonna be a band for about 14 more months so thank you so much for being here tonight” before playing “Same Logic/Teeth.” About 14 months from now would indeed be the tail-end of 2018. Stay tuned to see how this plays out. (On the bright side, does this mean an extensive 2018 tour?) (MORE HERE)
Just released this past Friday, here is the new very chill Weezer album called ‘Pacific Daydream’. We were just getting the last Weez album last year’s ‘White Album’ which also had similar California vibes with a persistent pursuit of positivist during trying times. Rivers Cuomo and company still deliver all the fun with a nod to the mutli-layered vocal harmonies of 60’s pop rock and their consistent love of making guitars really sing over monster hooks, particularly on the track ‘Mexican Fender’. If you enjoyed ‘White Album’ and the unrequited love anthems on their classic ‘Green’ and ‘Blue’ albums, this will be right up your emo alley. This album also sees the W boys giving it go on more keyboard driven tracks with grand results.
Listen to Rivers chat with Brian and Lou after playing in Tinley Park in the summer of 2016.

Now, there’s one more building presenting a hazard to the birds, according to Chicago Bird Collision Monitors.
“It is a new threat and a new hazard for the downtown area, in an area that already has many buildings with a lot of glass,” said Bird Collision Monitors director Annette Prince.
A place that can bring such joy to so many can also be the source of sad tragedy. I hope this isn’t the new circle of life for birds. I wish we could make them little glass detecting visors. Perhaps Sir Mitchell could be commissioned to create them IRL. Until then be safe out there birds!!

What you’ve really been waiting for, and why you still haven’t bothered to decide on what you’re going as for that party you don’t even want to go to this Friday because that’s the day Stranger Things 2 hits Netflix, is this list of the perfect Halloween costumes for each state in America. Ferris Bueller
Even though the state in general is probably more of a Cameron (read: inferiority complex), this is the one day you can expertly pretend to be the guy who expertly pretended to be the sausage king of Chicago. Danke Schoen.
Leslie Knope
Can you believe that Indiana’s most beloved citizen isn’t real? If you’ve ever actually been to Indiana, you probably can.
Loose meat sandwich
Iowa’s only culinary contribution to the world (which is actually just a sloppy joe without ketchup, if we are being real) makes an ideal costume, and late night, post-bar snack. Both requisite parts of the Halloween experience. And being in Iowa.
The Wicked Witch of the West
So, the Wicked Witch — NOT Dorothy — was the real hero in The Wizard of Oz, and the costume Kansas residents deserve. Think about it: Wouldn’t you be a little miffed if some hotshot, gingham-wearing, poppy-sniffin’ teenager crushed your sister with a house, stole her shoes, then ran off with a gang of monsters? Same.

Before he shaved his magical beard he had ALREADY moved out of his rental house. Hmmmmm. Here are a few photos in case you’re interested.
This may very well be where the shaving of the magical beard all went down. Just think, YOU could shave your beard in the same bathtub as Jake!
Make your…I mean, order YOUR pizza in the same kitchen as the Arrieta’s
Rest your herculean thighs in the same room where Jake rested his after a game.
Sit in the ‘DON’T SIT IN HERE, THAT’S THE GOOD FURNITURE FOR COMPANY’ room while your mom’s voice haunts your every thought.
No need to lock the doors at night. Jake will be there 24/7 watching over you like a beardless, thicc thighed guardian angel

Halloween is one of the greatest things we have left. I have always felt lame in my costume creation. Last year I was Hot Dog Harry Caray, once I was a giant box of macaroni and a few years before that I was Pee Wee Herman Munster. Maybe those are ok-ish but none of them come close to Mackenzie Stith’s creations. If you follow her on Snapchat you know how Halloween she really is. Below are a few examples from the past several years. I’ve never seen anyone on her level when it comes to costume making. To quote her “I AM Halloween.”
I’m wondering how you breathe in this one?
This one she did last minute. Her makeup skills are beyond amazing.
