Stone Temple Pilots set to return with a new singer

Stone Temple Pilots have been through a lot of hard times in the last few years, with the death of their original singer Scott Weiland in 2015 and the recent passing of their second singer Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington but the band is set up to return on November 14th at the Troubador in Los Angeles, California. The remaining members have been mum on who their new singer could be, and keeping the secrete even more close to the chest, this big comeback show is also an invitation-only event. So who is the new mystery singer? Thanks to Consequences of Sound for the scoop.

Speaking to Rolling Stone last month, bassist Robert DeLeo teased what’s to come with this yet-to-be-revealed singer  “We’ve been working with someone – I don’t want to name names yet – and we’re making music. I don’t know if he’s well-known or unknown; I don’t look at him as ‘well-known.’ But we’re writing music and we’re hopefully looking at finishing a record and putting it out soon.”

Weiland was dismissed from STP in 2013, with Bennington stepping in before leaving amicably citing the challenges of the balancing act of performing in STP, Linkin Park, and being with his family. STP recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of their debut album, Core.

WATCH: Jeff Goldblum rates Jeff Goldblum tattoos

(from avclub.com)

Like Bill Murray before him, Jeff Goldblum is as much meme as he is man. So distinctive is his personality and cadence, the actor’s every word is met with rapture by his adoring fanbase, making him more suited than most to moonlight as a jazz musician, commandeer a food truck called Chef Goldblum’s Jazzy Snags, or give a 15-minute speech about his own career that somehow isn’t insufferable. Watch Dave Grohl Host “Kimmel” as David Letterman

(from pitchfork.com)

Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters hosted last night’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” He stepped in for Kimmel, who is taking time off this week. Because it was Halloween, Grohl dressed up as David Letterman (with the full beard and everything). After a monologue and a segment about Halloween costumes, he was joined by Kristen Bell for a chat and performance of a Frozen/Metallica mash-up. Later, he chatted with Alice Cooper. Foo Fighters backed him up for a rendition of his song “Ballad of Dwight Fry.” (The performance ended with a fake beheading.) Watch clips from the episode below. (MORE HERE)

Wiener Circle’s ‘McDowell’s’ Costume Back For Halloween

(from dnainfo.com/chicago)

The Wiener Circle tipped its hand on its marquee Friday that it would be bringing the “McDowell’s” costume from two years ago out of mothballs as it once again dresses up for Halloween, and the conversion was executed over the weekend in time for the Halloween Spooktacular on Clark Street Sunday afternoon.

The hot dog stand with a deserved reputation for playful orneriness at 2622 N. Clark St. followed the Cubs’ World Series run last year by turning into “Goatbusters,” a play on the movie “Ghostbusters” and the Cubs’ now-extinguished Billy Goat curse, complete with the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. But some customers said they missed “McDowell’s,” the store’s costume from the previous year, in reference to the McDonald’s takeoff in the Eddie Murphy movie “Coming to America.”
